I can’t possibly go through 195 pages, so sorry if this has been asked before: Has anything ever been done to hack/bypass/conjure a working third party nVidia driver for Mojave or Catalina? I was able to install and use Mojave well enough on my 2009 Mac Pro, even using a GT120, but the ONE piece of software I needed–iBooks Author–refused to render under any circumstances. The UI showed up, but the book itself was a black void. I had to revert to High Sierra and I’ve been there ever since. My GTX 980 won’t work otherwise.

I’ll test Catalina, I guess (provided it even boots with the GT120), and if there’s no problem there’s no problem. If I still can’t get to iBooks Author, guess I’m stuck on High Sierra. By the way, dosdude, thanks for everything. You’ve already given this machine a modern life years after Apple decided to give me the finger.

Just downloaded latest patcher and got the below error. Can't see base Image.dmg in Disk Utility. Any ideas please?

Updated Patcher to 1.1.6 to download final release.

I downloaded 1.1.6, downloaded catalina from within the patcher and set it up on a USB drive, but it's showing "install macOS catalina beta". Sure 1.1.6 using the final release?

It's using your system's HTTP cache. Go to the Catalina Patcher webpage, refresh, download a new copy, then use that to download the installer.

The last patcher released is now downloading Catalina, but the about still shows 1.1.5.

Edit: OK downloaded again after page refresh, now it shows 1.1.6 and it is continuing to download the previous data.. I hope that it will not result a Frankenstein patched Catalina :)

Will try that, just as an FYI, I had never been to the catalina patcher site before nor used any older version of catalina patcher, so I don't think my mac would have anything beta related cached. Running Mojave atm.

hello guys, I am writing through a translator. tell me, I have a macbook pro mid-2010. Having downloaded the Catalina patcher and the mac os image, I can’t deploy it to a USB flash drive. He writes the error "error restoring base system". I use different 16gb and 32gb drives. What am I doing wrong?

Same here, @dosdude1 recommended re-downloading the patcher, so I'm starting over. I'll let you know if it works. Was flawless last time.

You're running Catalina Developer Preview 8. Just use the Install to This Machine option to update your current install.

Here we have it! The final release of Catalina running perfectly on an unsupported system!

The Installer app version did not change for the final release, it's still 15.0.32.

Use this option when running the Patcher, and select your Catalina volume during installation.
