Hi Everyone

Maybe to add on first page in:

Known issues
In Photos.app: There is no tab for "All Photos." However, if you right-click any photo, you can choose, "Show in All Photos" and the expected "All Photos" functionality is displayed.
You can also set up an intelligent album, call it „All Photos“ and use search criteria „Taken is not 1/1/1900“.

The solution from Ed87 to solve the color resolution issue
Because the SwitchResX app is only free for 10 days, I looked for a permanently free alternative and found the ResXtreme app (Version 1.0.1 (6)), which also works well for me (you have to choose your resolution with 8 instead of 10 bit/sample).

On these 0x8* Broadcom Wifi cards is not yet possible to enable AirDrop on Catalina, minimum required is 0x9* , probably that's due to the fact that 0x8* have BCM43xx firmware version 5.x , the 0x9* (or higher) instead firmware version 7.x (or higher).

"CSR" under the dongle picture is Cambridge Silicon Radio (the vendor that is not Broadcom BCM20702), however I have exactly that CSR dongle and it works properly.

Hence that dongle should work, but before buy post the output of this terminal command from your machine copy/paste:

system_profiler -detailLevel mini | grep "Card Type"

because Continuity (handoff, etc.) require at least a working AirDrop.
jackluke, thanks for the info

Interestingly, I tried it today with a Catalina Patcher and Download of Catalina Installer from within the patcher app and it failed with the personalization error.
Then I tried with the Mojave PAtcher and a Download within the app and had the same error and then I tried a High Sierra Patcher and a Download from the app and IT JUST ALSO FAILED WITH THE SAME PERSONALIZATION error. So something fishy is going on with the Apple downloads just now...

This is because you're using one of the 2018 or later machines with the absolutely terrible T2 "security" chip to create the drive. Use an older machine that does not have that awful T2 garbage, or boot into Recovery and use the Startup Security Utility to allow external drive booting, and disable all the useless T2 "security" features.

Hi, and thank you for your great job
I downloaded and patched macOS.Catalina.10.15.[final].dmg then made a patched version of Catalina with your tool.
I done that 5 times with different flashes and different usb port, I even download macOS.Catalina.10.15.[final].dmg from another source but result was same.
when 4 minutes remain it shows this error : [Image Below]
my macbook is Air 2011.
thanks in your advance.
You MUST ensure you're using the latest versions of both the Catalina installer (15.0.34), and Catalina Patcher app (1.2.0). If not, you'll experience this error.

Used your patcher successfully on Mojave and Catalina and currently have Catalina installed. I downloaded the latest versions of both Patcher and Catalina from your website and keep getting the following error.

Restoring BaseSystem.dmg...

Validating target...done
Validating source...done
Could not unmount volume "/Volumes/Kingston 128GB" (Operation timed out)

Any ideas?

This error shows up when creating the installer...

open macOS.Catalina.10.15.dmg image and then copy Install macos catalina.app into your hard drive, now open patch tool again and select Install macos catalina.app

good luck

iMovie does not appear to be working correctly with my patched Mac mini 5,1. Video preview only plays sound - no video. And, it will not create a video file. Anyone else with similar problems?

Hmmm... I only have two recent (2018) MacBook Pros at my disposal. But I have a 2015 Air here somewhere - just need to find it then. :D THX

The iMovie update recently requires metal and if you don't have a metal capable GPU it will not work it is best to stay on the previous version

The link for the Catalina patcher is on the first page https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/macos-10-15-catalina-on-unsupported-macs.2183772/ then you can use the patcher to download 15.0.34 and create a bootable Catalina patcher

Is BlueSky now working?
It broke my install twice.

@jackluke's modified patch of SkyLight and HIToolbox work fine, instead of the BlueSky patches. As of last time I tried, the BlueSky patches do not work. However, just install the alternative patches as described in and around posts #4,411 and #5,573.

I installed SkyLight using @jackluke's modified patch from post #4,411, and the command sudo mount -uw / ; killall Finder to allow me to replace the SkyLightOriginal file. This works perfectly as well! Thanks @jackluke for your help. I really appreciate it.
I finally tested @jackluke's patch of HIToolbox from post #5,573, and it works perfectly. Thanks! I think I'm going to stay on this version of macOS until 15.1 is released and working perfectly on people's devices.

You really, really DO hate the T2 chip...:):)

I got the same error.
I then downloaded the latest Apple supported version for my machine which is El Capitan.
From there I downloaded Catalina with Dosdude's 1.2.0 patch and it downloaded 10.15.1 - made USB boot disc successfully. Install failed with error as per my photo in a previous post.
Reinstalled El Capitan and downloaded Mojave with dosdude's patcher. Worked fine.
Now again downloading Catalina from Mojave.
Will first try Install to this machine option..
Successful..
But downloaded 15.0.34 this time.
Not 10.15.1 like the previous download though.

Oh yeah I do, it's the most stupid, unnecessary, worthless, poorly-executed implementation I have ever seen. Whatever idiot engineer (or Apple executive, most likely) thought that was anything remotely close to a "good idea" should be fired.

As my main office computer is also a MPB4,1 (running Mojave), I´m a bit reluctant to experiment with it now, but if I have some time to spare I can try Catalina and the patches from an external drive sometime soon to see what the problem might be... stay tuned!
If you do end up trying Catalina on your MBP4,1, do tell if you're able to get the patched USB installer to work, as that was an issue I was experiencing earlier (and never did completely resolve).
I'm still running into the same issue when trying to run the patched USB installer directly on my MacBookPro4,1, this time with Catalina Patcher v1.2.0 and macOS Catalina 19A603.
Any luck, @Larsvonhier?

No matter what I do I can't download the latest beta. I only get 10.15. I am creating my patcher on a new iMac.
The Catalina Patcher does not download the latest beta's not everyone wants to be on the beta's the only work around is some getting the the url link and edit the DownloadSetting.plist in the Content in the patcher

OK, it was nice on prior patchers we were able to update directly, but maybe sometime in the future. Thanks.
