got a java script error when trying PIP so might have to update Java
Javascript has nothing to do with Java, if you have Javascript errors that’s because 1) the developer of what you are trying to “browse” made some mistake, or 2) your browser doesn’t support (yet) some “newest” javascript code app is using.

So you can upgrade to Catalina but you can’t actually use it to its full capacity?
I have no issues is it perfect no not by any means but with transparency back that is a big plus Photo's does temporarily work we just don't have the photos tab listed just recent but you can right click on a photo and click show in all photo's as a work around Photo's requires meta to work fully but on our old Macs that is not possible but I think it runs just a smooth as Mojave

I tried but failed.
It return installing with a percentage, but then it end with
Install failed with error: Update not found
[/QUOTE maybe try setting the date back in the terminal date 090100019 then try downloading it

Got you. We haven’t seen many issues with upgrading to Catalina. A Fairly solid OS

Ok, Tested everything. The only solution that worked every time (tested twice) for me is :
- Signing out from iCloud identification Global pane in preferences.
- Signing in every app in that order : App Store , TV, PodCast, iTunes. iTunes in my case was signed in when I opened it. Test every app after connexion to be sure they are functional.
- return to the pref pane and activate iCloud as proposed.

Be sure to have a good internet connexion doing so.

In my case, I had to reinstall everything twice.
First I simply installed 10.15.1 over 10.15. Had trouble App Store login but I didn't know about the account issue then. As I also had trouble booting the system due to the faulty dGPU GT330m of my MBP Mid2010 I was forced to reinstall it all.
Second time I forgot my pendrive was still 10.15 and had to install 10.15.1 over it again. This time I disabled the GPU and started the fight against the account thing. Found out about the account trick, created a new one and it just worked. So far so good.
Now the only thing bothering me is the missing Photos tab on the Photos App.

for unsupported Mac we don't have the capabilities to run meta which the photos tab requires but you can right click on a photo and show in all photo's as a work around

Yeah, I wasn't 100% sure about it once I have GPU problems myself, but I thought that it would actually be related to non-Metal GPUs, no matter if working or not.
Thanks, man

Netflix does work in Microsoft Edge Browser

Though I downloaded Microsoft Edge Beta for Mac, the browser is fast but cannot play videos in 1080p. Check results here

Playing bitrate (a/v): 96 / 2079 (1280x720)
Playing/Buffering vmaf: 88/88
Buffering bitrate (a/v): 96 / 2079
Buffer size in Bytes (a/v): 2969797 / 66811370
Buffer size in Bytes: 69781167
Buffer size in Seconds (a/v): 219.121 / 223.604
Current CDN (a/v): c001.del002.ix.nflxvideo.net, Id: 57979 / c001.del002.ix.nflxvideo.net, Id: 57979

So no joy here. I surely want to watch in 1080p whether its safari or any other browser but even MS edge is a fail.

Maybe it's a limitation of your machine and/or network? Mine, even in YouTube, sometimes falls from 1080 to 720p. AFAIK safari, Firefox and chrome can play 1080p videos fine

Nope Machine is fine its Macbook air 4.2 (2011). On High Sierra Safari it works perfect on 1080p. It seems Catalina for unsupported Mac like mine has no Metal graphic card support so it will not play in 1080p.

But I am surprised at MS Edge beta which I downloaded in High Sierra but still it fails to play in 1080p.

Well I tried searching for any app that can play Netflix in 1080p but most need something from chrome or Silver Light which is a 32bit app that is no longer supported by Microsoft but yes it could be metal or are GPU’s can’t handle it mine is a mid 2009 iMac

I have ordered a graphic card for my iMac 27inch mid 2011 which apparently as of now is lying dead after baking my OEM card thrice and used it for so long till it finally died. Once I receive it another exercise will start in getting it working. :)

how are things going with the iMac, 2010, 2011 ? ATI Radeon HD 5***? Is there a solution for the normal operation of the graphics?

It was working hope someone on here knows how to fix the javascript its a nice app for those who can't play Netflix on safari
I'm not a Javascript expert, but I strongly advise you to search for an alternative app since the developer says "The Mac version is using the older version of Electron and it is locked on a version which was published on the 5th of June 2019. Unless a fix presents itself this app will be discontinued". The problem may not be within the app, but with the contents app is receiving (from external sources) and parsing, so you can't do anything because probably it is an external error.
