Great news (for my old MBP4,1 anyway) - got the 10.15.4 beta 1 up and running with NVidia GT full acceleration! And discovered that Handoff actually works better than ever, displaying running active Apps on the iPhone in the leftmost section of the dock.

Did you have to upgrade the WIFI card to make Handoff/Continuity work on MBP 4,1? Or are you using the original one?

Just FYI. I updated my Mac Pro 5,1 with updated GPU and WiFI/BLE to the beta of 10.15.4 and am very pleased.
Occasional night/sleep crashes due to Apple disk driver hangs are gone and I like the iCloud folder sharing.
Seems to be quite stable on my machines.

In my case it looks normal.

(by the way, is your screen background photo from the Harz?)
On two systems of mine (HD3000 and Nvidia 8800 GT based) the tab for monitor (screen) options is there, but without any content. Seems to be a widespread issue.

Hello everyone,

I am brand new here in this forum and this is my first post.
I have a MacBook 7.1 mid 2010 with 8GB RAM and original HDD with 250GB, formatted with APFS.
Thanks to Dosdude's Mojave Patcher, the MacBook with 10.14.6 works very well. However, if I install the security update, the MacBook becomes unusable.

I've tried a few times with the Catalina Patcher to install Catalina but it doesn't work.
With the patcher I created the USB installer and start the MacBook from this installer. Then I add a volume “Catalina” to the container and install Catalina.
Catalina is installed and after about 20 minutes the screen goes black and the loading bar appears again and reports 16 minutes. Up to here everything is normal in my opinion but now, after about 3 minutes, the installation stops and this window appears:

error Catalina.jpg
The machine is now blocked and I have to switch off and restart in Mojave. Now when I open Disk Utility, it is under the volume I created
Catalina one more thing with Catalina data with a size of 8.37 GB.

I would be happy if someone could help me

now with you a similar problem as with me. I have an nVidia GeForce 9100M.
One hears and reads from mr. @dosdude1 nothing more. Maybe he or other experts
will find a solution to the problem here.

@Tim Thomason
I looked at your picture from an earlier post of yours again.

Do you also have write access to the partition where 10.15.3 is currently located?
In the picture there is an error with the write access.

On the 10.15.3 Catalina you have to do this:
sudo -s in terminal Pasword
mount -uw /

or this: File (see attachment) in Catalina Data Partition in Library/LaunchDaemon paste.
and you have ever write access.

Unfortunately I can not see what device you are using. please make a signature as I have it.
I have the .4 beta in the update prefs window, I clicked install. it went into the installer window w/ progress bar.
but it rebooted with 10.15.3 still on the hdd??
the installer is in then library/update folder( no wrapper) to use dosdude1 creator?

that's a big step forward, finally you could download the Upade now.
Now you have to adapt this .dist file ... please read here, in the thread above there is
exactly how you have to do it.

ok please read how to customize the .dist file. I am now unavailable for the next 4 hours.
But I think @jackluke and @TimothyR734, and @chris1111 who also know how to do it,
can help you in the meantime.

On MBP5,2 used the patch updater to reapply the night shift patch (version 3). After reboot the usual extra tab for night shift doesn't appear. Could be the issue you and Pinarek see, or the night shift patch. I'll try further when DP2 is there.

the installer continues to loop back to the desktop, am I missing a step?

I am pretty sure I know the answer here, but I have a mid 2011 Mac mini. I just put Catalina on it, again, but this time it's running better than before. Wake after sleep and other odd stuff works fine. On High Sierra, you can inject a kext to up the VRAM to 1024MB, which actually does help... I think.

Do you know if there is a way to do that on Catalina?

@Tim Thomason

I already thought that you would not come to step 2. you are too inexperienced
and do not answer my questions.

I asked you what kind of device you have, an iMac or MacBook and original or Hackintosh?
So I know NOTHING and therefore I can not help you then. It is too much to ask for help,
at least to write what hardware you have?

If you have an original Mac, then you have to ask the other colleagues here,
I only know about Hackintosh!

You will come to the 2nd step after loading the update, after restarting,
if you change this .dist file (i.e. adapt it!). But as I saw here, it also describes how it works
with an original Mac ... just have to look properly !! At Clover - Bootloader Hackintosh
a second symbol "boot from catalina-Data" appears which is very important.
With orig. Mac I don't know.

Have a good night, at least tell me where you live in which country?

Sorry, I have a MacBook 5,2. Thank you for getting me to where I am. Perhaps dosdude1 will adapt the installer.

@Tim Thomason
So you have an original Apple MacBook Pro5.2, I have a normal laptop but with almost the same components, so it's a hackintosh with SMBIOS from the MacBook Pro5.2.

NO installation program needs to be adjusted. Everything can be adjusted correctly ...
just read right here !!!

And where do you live ? At the North Pole or in Russia or in China?
is it so secret that you don't write it?
I live in Germany, "the most innovative country in the world" says the press !!!
I live in Texas USA

When the update is fully installed you need to apply this patch before your restart your MacBook to install the update but be warned I don't think full graphics acceleration is working, finder crashes, photo.icloud, maps are broke the trackpad patchiest doesn't work in10.15.4 dev beta1
