@******* oh, you want to do that. But you mean if you insert this .plist file that you
ALWAYS get write AND read rights! Not just reading rights!
Do you now know exactly where to insert them?

paste this CatalinaAutoMountWritable.plist in Data-Partition in Library/LaunchDeamons
and you have always Write and read Rights.
Again, I can´t see my Data partition.

@*******
which means "I can't see ..." here you have to write more precisely WHERE you can't see
your data partition.
I am not a clairvoyant !!! Please describe your mistakes in more detail,
not just a labid sentence !!!!

Based on your so many posts here in the forum, I assumed you are an experienced
macOS user. You don't seem to know the basics of macOS or how?

Oh, know Mac Os, Os X, then macOS again. Im saying that right click in the Disk Utility in Macintosh HD-Data "Show in Finder" does not mount the Data partition. Just take me to the "normal" Macintosh HD.

Thanks

Hi. I have a MacBook Pro 8.1, just installed Catalina and I am having problems with the Home app. Icons only for enabled devices are shown while every other button is blank. Any idea on how this could be fixed?

ok @chris1111 when you have finished downloading and installing, please let me know.
If it's not Build 19E224g, then I'll eat a broom.

Above all, why do you doubt it? do you think the paid developers get an update from 10.15.3 or what? The developers also want to install Clean this 10.15.4 DP1 and this version is intended for that.

So go to sleep now .. see you tomorrow and report on the result after installation please !!

help me please. Trying to update from 10.15 to 10.15.4 beta 1 , did all the steps right but MacBook Pro late 2011 doesn’t continue the last phase it freezes on Apple logo like the photos here. , please how can I go out of this , even restart lead to same place

Because they're fused into one by software. Maybe you should read some documentation on the subject.

I installed a clean install of 10.15.3 on my 2011 MacBook Pro using the latest dosdude patch. I've read around here that it runs perfectly. For the most part, it works fine for me but I am having a couple of issues.

When bringing up a menu, the selection color is light grey with white text instead of the chosen color in settings. This occurs whether in dark or light mode.

I am also experiencing some random artifacting, most notably in text/search boxes.

Launchpad animations are quite slow.

All of these things are bearable, but it would be nice if I could resolve them.

If it makes a difference at all, in About this Mac, it lists two GPUs
AMD Radeon HD 6750M 1 GB
Intel HD Graphics 3000 512 MB

My MacBook only has Intel 3000

In 2011 you must disable the AMD gpu to have a (very) usable system.

As others have noted, the main reason is the lack of driver support for the AMD HD 6xxx series of GPUs for the time being (and it is highly likely that this won´t be resolved at all in the future).
What you have at hand is (at least) these possibilities:
- set NVRAM parameter to disable the AMD GPU before boot time
- use a tool like gfxCardStatus (the old version 1.8.x is preferable over the newer 2.x), also in combination with the NVRAM entry above
- rewire the GPU muxer or replace the AMD card with some viable supported one (both makes intrusive
hardware mods necessary)
- you could use an external eGPU and a second screen to have acceleration there (OpenGL or Metal)

How do you boot into the install partition if your mac didn't originally support APFS. I've got a good install of 10.15.1 running, and got the OTA setup to 10.15.3, but after it runs it just boots back into 10.15.1. Installed on a iMac 7,1 with replaced CPU.

@0403979 well written .. simply short and sweet!

@eminemmm since you have a real Apple MacBook, there can be a lot of mistakes.
I only know about Hackintosh machines, not original Apple Mac's.
Therefore, I can unfortunately not help you with your problem.
But there are other smart people here who might be able to help you.
By all due respect, Pinarek - this thread is about unsupported Apple machines, not Hackintosh or FrankenMac. Let´s please re-focus on the issues we have getting Catalina running on old Macs, or we all end up with another bloat-thread here (again)...

Did you have to upgrade the WIFI card to make Handoff/Continuity work on MBP 4,1? Or are you using the original one?
I´m using this Broadcom type, not sure but I think I replaced the original one with it some years (!) ago, before the (parrotgeek?-)patch for the previous built in one was available:

AirPort Extreme (0x14E4, 0x117)
Firmware-Version: Broadcom BCM43xx 1.0 (7.77.61.2 AirPortDriverBrcmNIC-1305.8)

I just released macOS Patcher 3.1. It notably includes a new makeshift software update patch for macOS 10.15 Catalina. Documentation on how it works is available on the macOS Patcher GitHub page.
hello, I'm trying your software. for the .4b1 installer I don't have the Mojave 10.15.4 installer only a folder in my lib./update see attached image.

I have said the same a thrillion times. This is not a hackintosh thread. At the end, people is getting confused.

I found a patcher made my dosdude and used that. I'm mint!! Thanks guys!!

Is it just psychological or is Catalina a LOT faster and smoother than High Sierra even on older Macs?

Similar observation on late '09 Mini3,1 for 10.15.3.Screen Shot.png

Easy to compare on this old Mac.

Is there an issue with the photos app on some machines? Since upgrading to Catalina I no longer have the photos tab in the app (the bit circled is missing on my older unsupported machine)

No the photos app requires metal for the photos tab to appear in Catalina but works well in Mojave the only work around in create a smart photo album and rename it Photos and move your pictures there
