Joining the club of not being able to enable extensions. Please, don’t tell me it’s incompatible. I installed them on a 12,1 iMac, and they all work fine. They worked fine on my Late 2011 MacBook Pro until I tried disabling and re-enabling

He said "don´t tell me"….

I said don’t tell me the extensions aren’t compatible, because they are.

Without more info there is no way to help you...

Late 2011 13 inch MacBook Pro, 12GB of RAM, 10.15.3, updated from 10.14.6 Mojave, extensions are AdGuard for Safari, LastPass, and NightEye. Extensions were enabled and functional on this install, I disabled them, and was unable to re-enable them. You hit the checkbox and a whole lot of nothing happens.

Same extensions were installed on a 12,1 21.5 inch iMac, 10.15.3, updated over High Sierra. I can enable and disable them freely on that computer. It does not have the legacy GPU patch enabled, as there is a metal capable Quadro installed.

No the photos app requires metal for the photos tab to appear in Catalina but works well in Mojave the only work around in create a smart photo album and rename it Photos and move your pictures there

Thanks for the tip. I have been searching for a way to see all my photos and videos in the Photos app for a while. I never thought of a smart album. D'oh! Anyway I added a new smart album and set it to show all items where Date Added is in the last 5 years. Now I see everything again.

Good evening guys. I wrote about my problem before. Actually my MacBook Pro late 2011 is on 10.15 now and I tried to install 10.15.4 beta 1 but it freezes on the last 20% loading bar with Apple logo and keeps restarting , I did all the steps has provided with swpatch ans catalinafix and terminal , and after long week I read comment #1 and I knew that loop happen with 10.15.4 beta 1 so I started to install 10.15.3 and after long process, same things happened , there installing load bar never finish and freezes in the end. #PleaseHelp

How's Catalina Patcher working for you guys with the 2010 MacBook (White)?
I found it quite unstable and slow. Mojave Patcher works much better. I just want some feedback and if it's only me.

Is it a 15 inch or a 13 inch? There's really not much for me to say, to be honest. I got it on 10.7 Lion, and installed Mojave 10.14.6 on it via the patcher. I used Mojave for about 2 months, after which I made a USB installer with the patcher, and just installed Catalina over it. Only Issue I've had is the extensions, really not much to speak of here.

10.15.4 DP beta 2 is out now, I am just downloading it, and then install, will report in a couple of hours if new wrappers patches are required for unsupported machines.

Meanwhile I slightly improved the catalinaswufix script, will attach it later, whatever works.

edit:
Within an hour from this edit I'll let know if 4b2 ota update worked.

10.15.4 beta 2 (19E234g) updated through OTA @Pinarek method, using my updated catalinaswufix4amfi script, then applied the post-patches, in addition with the @ASentientBot 4b1 output wrappers

worked without issues, just Display.prefpane doesn't show properly, but not a big deal.

Everything else worked.

To OTA update, run the swupatch.sh , then open the Catalina Software Update prefpane and start to download the 4b2 update , during the downloading run the catalinaswufix4amfi.command, then let the OTA update install to complete through its automatic phases.

For those who want to try, I attach the updated swupatch and catalinaswufix4amfi that will work without issues but consider these two cases (after the bootloop) :

1) If you want a post-OTA easily bootable GUI Catalina just apply the post-patches for your machine but don't select the Legacy Video Patch.

2) If you decide to apply the Legacy Video Patch don't forget to have pre-downloaded and after use these output wrappers: 4b1 output wrappers

@jackluke I just read your post. I will first install the DP2 on my natively supported
Mac's PC-1 and PC-2 (see my Sig.),
Then only on the unsupported laptop = Hacki, which many can't stand here,
but that bothers me completely not at all !

Any thoughts on why after running the OTA update on a Mid-2007 (with the CPU swap) it boots back into 10.15.1 instead of finishing the 10.15.3 install?

After the power on try holding alt-option key, and a volume labelled "macOS Installer" should show at the apple startup manager, select that Volume to boot, and OTA Installer should continue, but consider that if you are installing the OTA update on an external USB hard disk with a non-native APFS machine this won't work because finding the external root volume probably it's also an APFS firmware function, but only if the Catalina is internally installed (SATA or NVMe internal disk).

The external USB Catalina OTA updates works only with a native APFS machine.

However the OTA Catalina updates on internal disks work either on APFS and non-APFS machines.

For a non-native APFS machine, to continue OTA update you should swap and plug that external drive, internally.

Otherwise you should update instead making a full USB Catalina Patcher with the latest version.

Thanks for the reply. I'm installing on the internal SATA, but this machine isn't native APFS, so I'm using Dosdude's APFS overlay to make it boot. Booting with the option key down, it will only allow me to select the internal drive, and that boots back to 10.15.1. Haven't figure out a way to select the install to boot to with DosDude's overlay.

If a OTA install fails and you reboot again to the previous Catalina volume, then the temporary "macOS Installer" is automatically deleted, so you should re-download the OTA update from Catalina software update, and during OTA downloading, use the catalinaswufix4amfi I uploaded before.

To continue and complete the OTA update, I guess you should temporary disable the "APFS overlay", because I know it's weird, but the "macOS Installer" is an HFS mount point on an APFS Data Volume.

That's why probably the APFS loader script will load directly an APFS Volume, ignoring that "OTA HFS" temporary volume needed to continue the OTA stage2 installer.

The patches work but I ran into a problem on my iMac had to reinstall 10.15.3 now it can't find the update and I got 10.15.4. Dev Beta 2 install on my mamboed 5,2 but I used the HITool.box for the shadows from Dec with that was a nog won't boot

Does FileVault encryption work for anyone? I cannot login after enabling it in 10.15.3 on Mac Pro 3,1. See similar reports in the thread, but I don't see any conclusion on the subject.

Yes, a stony road it is sometimes without out-of-the-box patcher ;-)
That´s why I never applied any cosmetics patches for screen rendering (aside from the basic asentientbot ones). Just too risky for my taste in comparison to what improvement you get out of it.
Hope all this changes again after the final release of 10.15.4 when there hopefully will be an update to the 1.3.0 dosdude installer.

I am considering to downgrade to Mojave because of the incompatibility of Fotos and Maps.

I guess the Mojave Patcher is not maintained anymore and does not contain the "Updated the Legacy Video Card Patch, finally fixing the long-present grey Menu Bar and Finder Sidebar issues".

is this correct?

Way cool, even runs on MBP4,1, Catalina 10.15.4b1.
I heard that watchOS >6 is required now, also to log in?

No, the Mojave patches also contain the fix you´d need to get correct Menu and Sidebar rendering.
Just run the latest patchupdater.

The Photo and Maps app run quite well here on Catalina. What are your issues there?
You can also re-install iPhoto if you like using the retroactive tool!

Thanks for the feedback. The Maps on non metal display a satilite view which looks like it is has been made at night. Hardly usable.
The Fotos App is - as repeatingly discussed in this forum - lacking yearly, months and daily view. The workaround using a "all fotos" intelligent folder sucks TMHO.

Just to double check before me installing Mojave. You stated "the video patch to get rid of grey Menu Bar and Finder Sidebar issues is included in the patch".
It would be great if you could please confirm this statement.
