Way cool, even runs on MBP4,1, Catalina 10.15.4b1.
I heard that watchOS >6 is required now, also to log in?

No, the Mojave patches also contain the fix you´d need to get correct Menu and Sidebar rendering.
Just run the latest patchupdater.

The Photo and Maps app run quite well here on Catalina. What are your issues there?
You can also re-install iPhoto if you like using the retroactive tool!
Dees it work for you unlock screen with Apple Watch?

If a OTA install fails and you reboot again to the previous Catalina volume, then the temporary "macOS Installer" is automatically deleted, so you should re-download the OTA update from Catalina software update, and during OTA downloading, use the catalinaswufix4amfi I uploaded before.

To continue and complete the OTA update, I guess you should temporary disable the "APFS overlay", because I know it's weird, but the "macOS Installer" is an HFS mount point on an APFS Data Volume.

That's why probably the APFS loader script will load directly an APFS Volume, ignoring that "OTA HFS" temporary volume needed to continue the OTA stage2 installer.

Awesome info, working on trying that this morning (this is just an old work computer, my home computer boots APFS natively and didn't have a problem going to 10.15.3). Have everything set, just not sure how to disable that overlay. I'll do some more reading into to this morning.

@Larsvonhier
Just to double check before me installing Mojave. You stated "the video patch to get rid of grey Menu Bar and Finder Sidebar issues is included in the patch".
It would be great if you could please confirm this statement.
Confirmed. We used several MacBooks and an iMac in our office with Mojave and had to deal a couple of months with the effects of wrong rendering in light mode before -finally- the updated patch came out for correct display of windows sidebar and menu bar.
It might still be necessary to run the patch updater after the patches done with the installer to get it right, though. No big deal at all for the gain of eye-candiness ;-)

Dees it work for you unlock screen with Apple Watch?
Semi: The panel to turn it on in system settings recognizes the watch (again, after phases during Mojave and Catalina up to 10.15.3). On first login it says despite the watch the pwd is needed. Subsequent logins (after sleep etc.) wait a while, try to connect to the watch and then fall back to pwd entry.
But I´m on beta versions on all sides, so that is no stable basis. All I see atm is that it is very close to working - and other aspects do work, like the shown admin/root pwd in finder usage.

Thanks for the feedback. The Maps on non metal display a satilite view which looks like it is has been made at night. Hardly usable.
The Fotos App is - as repeatingly discussed in this forum - lacking yearly, months and daily view. The workaround using a "all fotos" intelligent folder sucks TMHO.
That´s why some effort has been put into the tool retroactive to get old apps to run with the 64bit requirement of Catalina. One of them is iPhoto.
The effect of too dark rendering in Maps (Catalina, unsupported machines, no OpenGL) is evidently there and annoying. I have several machines that display too dark there, but on one machine all is perfect. And this is also the no-OpenGL type of GPU there... so some other factor determines the outcome, too. Perhaps screen calibration? Will have to investigate. Also: Does perhaps the Mojave version of Maps run on Catalina as well?
We all had a similar situation back then with some screen savers, the chess app and a few more during Mojave patching. Has been all solved... Feel free to go back to Mojave if really needed, but the bandwagon moves on and is named Catalina now. ;-)

Yes, same here. It´s odd, cause in Mojave I have unlock screen with apple watch. In Catalina, just unlock passwords. I hope someone sorts it out.

Late 2011 13 inch MacBook Pro, 12GB of RAM, 10.15.3, updated from 10.14.6 Mojave, extensions are AdGuard for Safari, LastPass, and NightEye. Extensions were enabled and functional on this install, I disabled them, and was unable to re-enable them. You hit the checkbox and a whole lot of nothing happens.

Just the same here with my MacBook Pro 13 inch mid 2009 5,5 after update to Catalina using Dosdude's excellent website. Generally the computer is much better on Catalina and everything I need works very well except for extensions in Safari. I tried installing several adblockers and none got past the checkbox stage.

Even if previous wrappers (I guess from 10.15.2) worked, I advise to use the @ASentientBot .4b1 wrappers because they are more updated and stable.

On your iMac 10.15.4 beta2 do you have also an empty Displays.prefpane with only "Colour" tab working ?

Yup, almost everything is better coming from Mojave, except my bloody extensions. Just rocking Firefox at the moment until there's a fix, but I'm missing my iCloud tabs.

Come on guys, adblock technology has been changed by Apple with introducing Mojave years ago. Forget everything you know and start over. AdGuard is one solution...

I don’t know if its my imagination but after installing version 10.15.3 i think things are going faster and screen is brighter...🤔 lol
After the update at first boot the updater poped up saying that some files are replaced to asking to reinstall the patches, i did so but after reboot nothing was changed, launched the updater manually and reinstalled all patches, before reboot i replaced trackpad patch and video then rebooted, everythings works well again.
I saw trackpad icon in system preferences changed place🤔
if anyone is interested, movavi video editor is working like a charm, imovie needs previous version
I still can not get the trackpad to work correctly on MacBook 5,2. Installed newest updated patch that thanked parrotgeek1 and trackpad icon changed back to silver from white picture on MacBook, but when clicked it is searching for bluetooth trackpad again. Went back to recovery and made sure SIP is disabled and even tried installing patch manually. What am I doing wrong?

Great to know you have managed to update to beta. I would like to stick to the 10.15.3 for timebeing. Since I have the Metal card upgraded on my unsupported 2011 iMac do I need to go with the legacy video patch or un tick it while applying the post patch.

With a Metal GPU just untick the "legacy video patch".

However you're right I've also tested the previous ASentientBot wrappers and they worked on 4b2, but with some UI lags, so I preferred to replace them with the 4b1 wrappers.

I also have a blank Display prefpane, but since I use a fixed resolution I don't need it, colour display profile, calibrate, projector are correctly showed and working, also an external display with "show mirroring options in menu bar" ticked worked, if eventually I need to change the internal LCD resolution I use this app:

Here is attached the stock 10.15.4 beta 2 Displays.prefpane
remove first your one and replace it here /System/Library/PreferencePanes/

Tks @jackluke .

Hey boys. After disabling dead dGPD using @dosdude1 's method ("Permanently Disabling the Defective GPU on a 2011 15" MacBook Pro - Hardware Mod Overview" on YouTube ) i lose brightness control. Is there any fix for this?

Is there any warnings i should pay attention to after this procedure? I mean, can i use "reset SMC", "NVRAM" etc.

Brightness Slider. You have it in the App Store

Don´t worry about SMC, NVRAM, etc

Thank you. I installed "DyingLight Backlight Controller Module" before i read your post, but it's not working. Maybe you know how can i uninstall this app? I can't find it in my system. :(
Brightness Slider is the only one that works. I don't know that "DyingLight..." you mention. Don't you have it in your Applications Folder?

Still haven't had any luck finding a way to disable the APFS boot overlay for machine that don't support native booting to APFS that doesn't involve reformatting. Anyone else have any thoughts? The issue is that you can't select the HPS volume on boot up to finish the install of a Catalina update (10.15.1 currently, trying to load 10.15.3).

After/during downloading of the OTA update have you applied the catalinaswufix4amfi script ?
Because this through Pinarek method whitelist the machine for OTA installing.

These are the OTA phases:

- OTA download complete, then "restart" to install followed by an apple logo (without reboot)
- apple logo short loading bar followed by auto reboot (OTA packages preparing the "macOS Installer" temporary volume)
- apple logo long loading bar followed by Catalina logo installing (OTA stage2 installation on your APFS volume)
- apple logo long loading bar followed by direct boot to Catalina or a bootloop (because post-install patches are required)

If you applied the catalinaswufix then, right after the reboot during the OTA pre-installing with apple logo short bar (it takes about 5 minutes), if you after the reboot hold alt-option key (even till 15 seconds) this I guess overcome the APFS overlay loader, and you can then select the "macOS Installer" as temporary target volume, that should continue automatically the OTA stage 2 installer, after it completes you have to re-apply the post-install patches.
