You should retry the CatalinaOTAswufix.app and apply first the Software Update fix, then re-open the app and apply the OTA update fix , but to do this properly I guess you should keep Appkit and HIToolbox stock from 10.15.4 , until an updated .4 improvementUI patch is released.
I first tried to edit the English.dist file manually no so I deleted the CatalinaOTAswufix then downloaded a new copy and it worked Successfully installed 10.15.5 Dev Beta 1, I did notice when I finally got 10.14.4 final installed my Mac was slow as a slug opened activity monitor had high memory-cpu and swap use so on the wheel towards the top I ran system diagnostics seemed to smooth things out as my clock mini I use in my dock was using about 300mb of memory yikes a lot for a 25 mb app :)

I have a MBP 8,1 on 10.15.4 and found that iMovie wouldn’t display imported video clips, I assume it’s a GPU Problem.

By any chance have you tried and/or noticed the same issue?

Does 10.15.5beta fix any issues you were having?

Thanks
see this post I believe its 6261 you need to install an older version of iMovie if you don't have a metal capable video card it won't work https://forums.macrumors.com/thread....2183772/page-251?post=27935151#post-27935151

Question for people.. do any of you dual-boot between Catalina and an earlier OS like HiC? I'm trying to get the HiC HD partition and the Catalina partitions Spotlight instances to not "see" each other when one is booted up: Spotlight is indexing both volumes in each configuration which means I see apps that are in HiC that I haven't installed yet in Catalina.

I've tried using Spotlight in the privacy settings to block the catalina drives from being seen in HiC and vice version. The problem is that when I change it in ONE environment the OTHER boot environment picks up the change. I know that sounds completely obtuse.. and I can't figure out why it would do that (I've had multi-boot systems before and this was never a problem).

Any ideas?

Bonsoir,

After reinstalling 10.15.4 (install to machine) with the @ Dosdude1 1.3.4 patch over preexisting install made by 1.3.1, itself reinstalled with the 1.3.6 patch, the command csrutil status now correctly returns :

Configuration:
Apple Internal: disabled
Kext Signing: disabled
Filesystem Protections: disabled
Debugging Restrictions: disabled
DTrace Restrictions: disabled
NVRAM Protections: disabled
BaseSystem Verification: disabled

There remains the problem of resuming from hibernation with :

View attachment 902926

I don't understand why.

I have also installed the specific extensions for my PCIe Sonnet USB 3 card.
I have an admin account hidden and his home folder moved.
My BT keyboard and Magic Mouse are driven by a small low energy BT4 dongle (Belkin) plug in a stock USB port.

For more info, in disk utility info I have for the SSD boot disk (macOS et macOS Data) : support for system integrity protection : yes. The answer is "no" for the two others disks (hybrid).

For the rest everything seems to work perfectly.

Many thanks,

Serviteur,

Weird !

I have no APFS Boot in my System Settings prefpane...only Boot Disk...

Serviteur,

This is on a MacPro 3,1? To my knowledge, those don't have hibernation, only sleep. Explicitly invoking sleep has been stable for me and I have my machine to sleep after an hour in the Energy Saver system preference panel. Again, I had some problems in the past but it was a very rare event that seemed to disappear with removing the SSE4,2 emulator kext.

I just tried and mine is blacked out, I have 10.1.14.
looks like I need to find 10.1.12, if someone has a copy or knows of a link that would be great :)

unzip this and put this in your /Library/LaunchDaemons folder reboot the try replacing the preferencepane for the trackpad

Im currently having the same issue with trackpad, then Ive tried to do the steps above, but I keep getting that "prohibited" sign when trying to paste the trackpad.prefpane onto preference panes folder. Do you know why I keep getting that? Thanks!

if you have the CatalinaAutoMount in the /Library/LaunchDaemons folder delete the original then place the the patched one

Please forgive me if this question has been asked already in this thread (it's 386 pages 😳).

I have a mid 2010 Mac Pro 5,1 with an ATI Radeon RX 580 8 GB and I have macOS 10.15.3 installed via @dosdude1 's macOS Patcher 1.3.0.

Now I want to update to macOS 10.15.4 - how do I do this?
Do I just run the current version of macOS Patcher (1.4) as "Install to This Machine".

(Interestingly macOS Software Update also says "Your Mac is up to date—macOS Catalina 10.15.3" Hmm ... 🤔)

Thanks for any help!!

Yes, you need to re-run the latest macOS Catalina Patcher. Dosdude1 recommends creating a new USB stick with the latest patcher and 10.15.4. Then you install from the USB stick just like you did originally. I think this usually goes smoother.

@dosdude1 Hi fella, sorry for my bad english (Im trying to practice my english without the translator) I just want to ask something. Today I bought a Imac 2011 12.1 with 16 GB Ram and 256 gb SSD for a very cheap price. The problem it happenned when I discovered that OS Catalina Doesn´t work with this solution on my mac with Radeon HD 6750M :C For that -and sorry for taking your time- Do you know if someone actually works on a solution for this issue? I really appreciate your time. My best regards from Chile.

The iMovie you want is part of the High Sierra install suite. If there is an old back-up on a drive somewhere it can be copied on top of the current iMovie without issues.

Please refer to macOS Catalina Patcher - Known Issues "• AMD/ATI Radeon HD 5xxx and 6xxx series graphics acceleration: Currently, it is not possible to achieve full graphics acceleration under Catalina on any machines that use a Radeon HD 5xxx or 6xxx series GPU. If you have a machine with one of these GPUs installed, I'd advise upgrading it if possible (can be done in 2010/2011 iMacs, iMac11,x-12,x)" - quoting @dosdude1.

Re-install 10.15.4 , after re-installation don't apply any patch, just boot to usb installer open a terminal and type:
nvram boot-args="-no_compat_check"

That did not work.. however.. combining that with -v - nvram boot-args="-no_compat_check -v" to always start in verbose mode DID work.

I have no idea why.. I can only presume something different is doing on with how the GPU is getting initialized by the kernel drivers in verbose mode vs. non-verbose mode..

Anyone run into issues re-installing 10.15.4 using patcher 1.4? My MacPro 5,1 w/GTX 680 has been sitting with a full progress bar and 9 minutes remaining for at least an hour. I'll probably let it sit overnight before killing it and trying again. Any ideas?

Update: forced shutdown and rebuilt the USB drive and tried again. Same hang. Also tried to install the Post Install patches and it’s generating an error. “There was an error installing the patches (1).”

Update 2: I eventually booted back into Catalina, let Patch Updater reinstall the patches and everything seems functional. Still can't explain why the installer is hanging at the very end and then failing to install all the patches.

MacBook Pro mid 2009 running 10.15.2 fine for a few months. Tried installing the new 1.4 patcher to update to 10.15.4. After the computer rebooted, About This Mac still showed 10.15.2. Do I need to do a clean install every time I download a new update patcher?

Did you rebuild the USB installer with 10.15.4? If you used an old copy of Catalina, that could do it. That's the only thing I can think of.

The 1.4 patcher downloaded "Install macOS Catalina.app" to my computer. It's 15.4.01. I assume this is the newest version? I installed it directly to my computer, didn't use a USB. What do you mean by "rebuild the USB installer"? Thanks!

Hi, thanks Dosdude1 for your work ...

But it says: "This copy of the Install macOS Catalina application is damaged", but works when i trash InstallInfo.plist , until it says the Installer needs an internet connection.

I don't understand because i succeed to install Catalina 4 days ago; since Little Snitch Installer broke my login access, ,i can't reinstall it :(. i just remember having updated my bootrom, but i don't now much ...

Hi everybody: no idea at all about my problem ? 🙏

I have the imac mid 2011. I have 3 drives internally in it. Two are SSD and one is mechanical (used for backup). I have Catalina on 1tb ssd and Mojave and High Sierra on the 500gb ssd partioned. Lately my 500 gb SSD keeps unmounting by itself. On restart it does not show. While using option key it still doesnot show.
After I have shutdown the computer for an hour or more and then on booting with option key pressed I see all drives and am able to go to the respective OS installed.

I cannot update Mojave and High Sierra because of this issue of SSD unmounting by itself.

Any insight would help.

Hi. Has any one managed to get AirDrop working on 10.15.4? I have a MacBook Pro 2011 (8,1) with bluetooth 4 card and on 10.15.3 I managed to get continuity and AirDrop working. On 10.15.4 noting I tried seems to work

You have to apply all patches again for it to work like you did so in previous case
