Hello, I am looking for some information regarding Catalina updates on Mac 5,1, which got its Catalina using dosdude's World Renowned Patcher. The problem is when I try downloading an update through the Patcher, the installer that downloads is 10.15.1 That is not much help, since I am running 10.15.2

I had the same problem for a few months when I had Catalina Beta. I could not get a newer installer to download from Apple. Downloading the Catalina update through the App Store has not been an option - when I try, it tells me there is no update available for my system.

If you could provide any pointers, I would be much obliged. Thank you.

Are you using the current Catalina Patcher 1.4.1 release to try to perform the installer download?

I may have encountered a small issue with the patcher. I'm unable to see 5.0 GHz WiFi networks at all in patched Catalina. They are visible and connect without issue on Windows 10. I don't have an officially supported macOS version to check on right now (that's how confident I am in patched Catalina!), but can install one if this might help with troubleshooting.

System Details: MacBook Pro 5,5 2.26 GHz
APFS BootROM patch applied: Yes
WiFi card: Broadcom BCM43xx 1.0
Patcher used: dosdude's

I'm not sure whether this has been addressed and I'm just not using the search function properly... or maybe it's a weird hardware issue that only presents in macOS. It's not causing any real issues as I'm still getting fairly good speeds on the 2.4 GHz network and it's a backup laptop anyway, just thought I'd mention it to see if there's an easy fix.

Thanks!

Edit to add: I've just installed El Capitan on another partition and it can see 5.0 GHz networks, so this does seem to confirm that it's not a hardware issue.

I managed to fix this by installing to a fresh partition and migrating the data. Looks like something went wrong with the WiFi during one of the Catalina updates.

Just a heads up that Apple released a Supplement Update for 10.15.4. Using Catalina Patcher 1.4.1 to download the installer now results in an installer with the version number 15.4.02 instead of the prior 15.4.01. The resulted patched full installer works fine resulting in 19E287 being the installed version of 10.15.4.

I just recognized that after upgrading my MacBook Pro Mid 2009 to 10.15.4 it won't enter sleep mode when connected to power. Is someone else experiencing this, too?

Mac Pro 4.1 > 5.1 (144.0.0.0), RX 5700 (MacVidCards), fresh Catalina 10.15.4 installed successfully with @dosdude1 patch 1.4 without any problem. Everything works properly and very smooth. no bugs found so far. I just wanted to thank everyone involved, especially dosdude1. just sent a donation as a thank you!

I do not have the installation file for OS 10.15.4, as when I tried to install it after downloading it via dosdude1's V1.3.5 of his patcher, it would stop and not complete. So, I just upgraded from OS 10.15.3 to OS 10.15.4 by downloading and applying the OS 10.15.4 Combo Updater. And about an hour ago, I downloaded and installed the most recent OS 10.15.4 Supplemental Update.

Thus, how can I tell if I am running V15.4.02 of OS 10.15.4?

I thought I was, but now it appears otherwise. I'll be back.

New download in progress, verified version of patcher. This is looking like bonehead city, because I thought I had 1.4.1. Not sure how I mixed that up

After upgrading to 10.15.4.01 with DosDude patcher 1.4.1, will I be notified to install Supplemental 15.4.02 via Software Update? If not, is there a way to download and install just the Supplemental update or do I need to apply a new 10.15.4.02 upgrade?

When I update to 10.15.3 from 10.15.2, I lost night shift on my 5,1. I downloaded the old faithful F.lux for now, but I'd like to know why that patch disappeared?

Not sure you're experiencing what I encountered. I lost night shift on my MP5,1 until I opened System Preferences > Display > Color and reselected the Color profile. I'm not in front of my MP5,1 at the moment, so I don't remember exactly. Hope that points you in the right direction. I have a Sapphire Pulse RX580. Also, I didn't apply any patches, since RADEON RX580 is native to Catalina.

So with 1.4.1 version of patcher, I downloaded Catalina installer, ran the patch routine for it, and cjhecked the version of the Catalina installer that came in:

Wondering what I did wrong.

Version 15.4.02 is that of the installer. Once you download the full Catalina installer (via dosdude's patcher), 15.4.02 should be its version.
I know that. But it seems you did not understand my post above. So, here are my circumstances again:

1. Previously downloaded OS 10.15.3 via disdude1's patcher.
2. Did a clean, fresh, "virgin", full installation of OS 10.15.3 on both of my Macs.
3. Migrated/copied needed files, folders, applications, settings, etc. from a just completed (ie, right before the installation of OS 10.15.3) SuperDuper! backup.
4. All of that worked well, and I did not have any issues.
5. When OS 10.15.4 was released, could not download the full installer from the App Store. So, used V1.3.5 of dosdude1's patcher to download OS 10.15.4 (I assume it was 15.4.01).
6. On attempting to do a clean installation of OS 10.15.4, the installation would stop at the very end of the solid white bar that appears when one is doing an installation. It would not go any further. Tried 3 times, but no luck.
7. Downloaded and applied the OS 10.15.4 Combo Updater on both of my Macs (after doing steps 2 and 3 above). Went flawlessly, and I suspect I would up with V15.4.01 of OS 10.15.4.
8. Earlier today, downloaded and installed the latest OS 10.15.4 Supplemental Update. Went fine, and I assume it gave me V15.4.02 of OS 10;.15.4.

Again, I DO NOT have the full installer for V10.15.4 (I will most likely download it anyway, just in case, via V1.4.1 of dosdude1's patcher). But for my present situation, how can I verify that I am running V15.4.02 of OS 10.15.4?

After upgrading to 10.15.4.01 with DosDude patcher 1.4.1, will I be notified to install Supplemental 15.4.02 via Software Update? If not, is there a way to download and install just the Supplemental update or do I need to apply a new 10.15.4.02 upgrade?

Assuming you've already upgraded to 10.15.4.01 with dosdude1's patcher 1.4.1, you should/will be notified about the the (new) OS 10.15.4 Supplemental Update, and once you download and install it, the version of the OS should be 10.15.4.02. If you download OS 10.15.4 with dosdude1's patcher 1.4.1 now, you will have 15.4.02 of OS 10.15.4.

I just used dosdude1's patcher 1.4.1 to download OS 10.15.4 and it is V15.4.02 of OS 10.15.4.

It appears that the Supplement Update for 10.15.4 also included a new Bootcamp Assistant 6.1 release. It will be interesting to find out if that downloads Windows Support files that finally has a Windows Startup Disk app that recognizes APFS partitions.

Hi.
@Dilli @jackluke I've recorded a video of boot process of my iMac 2010 with restored EFI bootrom (version 99.0.0.0.0) and GTX 765.
Please take a look of somebody can fix this strange issue.
Video

Thanks
Your video is exactly and identical as to how my iMac boots now. Same script runs then apple logo with progress bar and then the login screen. I wonder whether it is made to work like this on non apple efi Metal Gpu displays. I too hope if a fix is there but I would not like to go through all the tedious issues I faced earlier.

Clear all your browser history and Cache. Then download @dosdude1 patcher. Then when the patcher is launched from Menu bar select to download the Catalina OS and follow instructions of the patcher.

STILL bad news for people compelled to uses Zoom though. The Audio now works but the video is a black screen on iMac 12,1.
sudo killall gatedtasks does not bring video back.
However both camera and microphone do appear in the System Preference Security & Privacy settings which is some progress. The camera green LED is lit too.
The GPU in this is a 6970M.

I also have recognized that Google Chrome crashes after the first start. This is only after I reapplied the patches manually. Should I reinstall Catalina?

EDIT: I reapplied the Patches now while having Chrome opened. Then I restarted and Chrome process got killed because of the restart and right after booting, Chrome automatically opened without crashing. I will have an eye on this.
