lol just checking in after created an updated install usb with dosdude patches everything included works out of the box with Mac Pro 5,1 and Mac Pro 4,1 the AMD 5770 and 4870 are supported with my custom drivers. Little laggy but fully useable with acceleration under Catalina and Bigger Beta 2

nahh download the latest installer using dose

to answer your question yes dosdudes installer downloads the lates package and the link for current and older older is the same. Because of that even though dosdude hasn't updated his installer it automatically downloads the latest anyway because of the link when a new release is released. Just download andc reate a fresh install and install patches and you should be good to go! Install on current install and apply the patches after its done installing!

What I meant was did you install 10.15.6 over a prior patched install of 10.15.5 or 10.15.4? In other words, does one need to start from scratch (erase boot drive and/or re-install apps, data, settings or from TM backup) when they update a patched version of MacOS?

Thank you.

No need to format your drive. Just install to over your version.

Sooo, I have a question... I have AirDrop working on Catalina 10.15.5 but somehow Continuity does not work. I've tried signing in and out of iCloud, connecting and re-connecting the wifi and bluetooth, but no dice.

When I look in the system report it says:

Bluetooth Low Energy Supported: Yes

Handoff Supported: Yes

Instant Hot Spot Supported: Yes

I am using an ASUS BT-400 dongle in order to get it all to work. But somehow, even if it shows as active, it doesn't work.

Does anybody have an idea how to get it to work?

Try this: catalinacontinuityfix.command.zip

Hei, wait a moment... which custom drivers? Is this something that can be applied and make usable with Catalina my MacBook Pro 8,1 with Radeon HD 6750M? I hoped for long time to see some change in the spoiler about AMD Radeon HD 5xxx/6xxx Series Video Card Acceleration, but lost it in time... is there something new that should bring a change in it?!

Please explain just a little more.

Thanks.

I assume you are using a Metal graphics card in a cMP5.1 which does not have a boot screen. Dosdude1 put an option in the patcher to help with this. See left hand icon selection below then follow the instructions. I have used this method for both a cMP3.1 and cMP5.1 with no issues and it is faster than using the usb method. You can make a usb later for emergency use if required. Another issue you may not have used is in the menu bar of the patcher under options. Make sure "disable APFS booter" is ticked before you start as the cMP5.1 does not need this. If you give us more detail of your setup in the signature then advice can be more specific. Good luck and back up first!

Would updating from 10.15.4 to 10.15.6 fix the Safari Extension issue? I'm on a 2010 MBP and only one of my Safari extensions allows me to activate it.

No, unfortunately it won't solve the issue.

However, it now gives some clue as to what's going on: when trying to enable an extension, it reports a process 'interfering with clicking' and, for that reason, it won't allow extensions to be enabled.

Now to find out which process is being referred to...

I had already tried this and it does not work...

Which machine do you have and mainly which Broadcom Wifi card 14E4 product ID (from system report Wifi tab) ?
Do you have AirDrop on Catalina Finder ? (Because without that continuity can't work)

Then try this other method: https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/macos-10-15-catalina-on-unsupported-macs.2183772/post-28016436

if still doesn't work I guess your Asus BT 4.0 dongle is incompatible with apple continuity features.

edit:
That attached should still work, but I uploaded here a new patched IOBluetoothFamily also for 10.15.6 .

I have a MacBook Pro 8,1 with a Bluetooth ASUS BT 4.0 dongle (which has a Broadcom BCM20702A1 chip).

Here is what system report says:

AirDrop in Finder works 100% with both older Macs and new and my iPhone 11 Pro.

In older versions of macOS this ASUS BT-400 dongle was recommended for using Continuity Activation Tool. Obviously that doesn't work on Catalina anymore, which is when I found your great work.

Thanks for all your help!

Same. other than it all works fine, so this didn't really bother me that much so far.

I updated my iMac 9,1 with v1.4.4 looks everything ok. But there is a new improvement about Safari extension but I don't get it what that it is. (which app or service that is it mention) Maybe @jackluke @dosdude1 @ASentientBot lightning us about this. Now when we click to extension, the extension gives a pop up why we cant activate the extensions. Here it is;
