I upgraded my 21,5" Mid 2011 (2,7 GHz i5) with a K610M and flashed the new rom which works great.
Internet Recovery doesn't work as expected but I am unable boot the dosdude1 patched Catalina installer,
I get the following when booting in verbose.
IMG_3968.JPG

I am not using the Catalina Loader (OpenCore) to boot the installer but that shouldn't be necessary correct?
If anyone has a clue to what is going on that would be greatly appreciated! :)

Did you apply the WIFI legacy patch from the post install patches

Well, I think so! I tried two way to verify this. First, I ran the Patch Updater utility and it reported that everything was up to date, including the Wifi Legacy Patch. I did a re-install anyway - didn't help. Second, I opened the dosdude1 catalina patcher app and compared the athandbcm/IO80211Family.kext directory tree to /S/L/E/IO80211Family.kext. diff -r showed no differences. Not 100% sure that the above directory corresponds to the Wifi Legacy patch, but it was my best guess.

Is there something else I can do to verify it's installed?

Thanks!

I am using mid-2009 MBP (5,5) with 10.15.6 now.
I would like to upgrade to 10.15.7.
Is there any issue with 10.15.7?

I have a RAID 0, set up through Disk Utilities with Catalina 10.15.7 running. Startup Disk will not let me set it as the start up disk, so i have to start from the option key each boot. Can I by pass the Apple refusal to set a RAID as startup?
I am running a MacPro 3,1.

Sorry for not quite understanding this, but I would like to try this. To be sure I paste this exactly as it is into terminal
nvram boot-args
sudo nvram "boot-args=some other values and flags we want to keep amfi_get_out_of_my_way=0x1"
. Is that right?
[/QUOTE]
No it is sudo nvram boot-args="-no_compat_check amfi_get_out_of_my_way=0x1" if you run this in the macOS Terminal if you run this in the the terminal in the Catalina Patcher you do need to use sudo

I have had some problems, such as the closing of Chrome and I have applied (successfully) the command or commands that I saw in the answers

I understand (I am Spanish and the language is difficult for me) that it is an instruction problem, on older processors and hardware, such as Metal GPUs

The problem I have, and for which I cannot find a solution, is a broken system sound failure, I do not know if it is a problem with the CatalinaOS Patch or it is already old age of the Hardware, the truth is that before, with previous versions of CatalinaOS yes It worked "well" and with this last patch, it goes fatal (I don't know if I will have to go back to a previous version)

If there is, cited a solution to a problem with the sound, of the system (since if I add external speakers if they work well) I would appreciate
Perform a "clean" install, thinking it would fix the problem
Kill and restart the sound daemon and without success, PRAM and reset the SMC and nothing, we remain the same

Any help is appreciated
a greeting

When I get a chance I am going to install macOS Catalina 10.15.6 and upload the IO80211 Family kext from it so you can see if that works

I installed Catalina on the 1- iMac 27 "Mid 2011 - i7 - 3.4GHz - Nvidia GTX 770M GPU - Flashed (Nick [D] vB + xanderon method) macOS Catalina - 240GB SSD + HD 1TB - 16GB RAM.

It happens that after restarting it appears these characters on the gray screen with a black square and the characters in the middle, passing like a letter at the end of a movie.

Is it possible to fix this?

Thank you.

That's the APFS loader that allows Macs that don't support APFS natively to boot from APFS partition. To disable it mount the EFI partition with diskutil and erase everything in there. Reboot > good to go

Be sure to note you need to have a Mac that can boot APFS, and a least the EFI firmware version that can boot APFS.

I am back on my iMac mid 2011 (iMac 12,1) for which I upgraded with 20 Gb RAM, the Intel i7 Quad-Core 2.8 GHz, a 1Tb SSD, the Quadro K2100M and the OSXWiFi iMac 2009, iMac 2010 and iMac 2011 - Handoff and Continuity - Broadcom BCM94360CD - 802.11 A/B/G/N/AC with Bluetooth 4.0.

I installed Dosdude's Catalina Patcher with Catalina 10.15.7.

All is working very well, but I cannot get watch unlock and full handoff to work as designed. Airdrop does work though. What is going wrong?

I already wrote you once that most likely watch unlock needs BT 4.2 with Catalina and your card offers only 4.0. To get HandOff and Continuity working check this thread and "whitelist" our board. Get used to it, you will likely do this after every new updated on Catalina, again.

I am using a BCM94360CD (BT4.0) with my cMP5.1 and all the Handoff & Continuity works including watch unlock. This is with 15.7

The APFS data partition, is not enabled to mount. Can I disable any options in the Post install of Dosdude?

Love those muddy waters...
Under Known Issues, here - http://dosdude1.com/catalina/ "AMD/ATI Radeon HD 5xxx and 6xxx series graphics acceleration: Currently, it is not possible to achieve full graphics acceleration under Catalina on any machines that use a Radeon HD 5xxx or 6xxx series GPU. If you have a machine with one of these GPUs installed, I'd advise upgrading it if possible (can be done in 2010/2011 iMacs, iMac11,x-12,x), disabling the dedicated GPU if using a 2011 15" or 17" MacBook Pro (MacBookPro8,2/8,3, instructions to do so can be found here), or not installing Catalina. Running Catalina without full graphics acceleration will result in extremely poor system performance."
I made another bubble-headed mistake! I have Radeon 4670, not 5670. Can I update my Boot Rom from 98.0.0.0 to 144?

Got nothing to do with Bluetooth version.

Okay, this is quite new because we have a bunch of users not able to get full watch unlock working with Catalina (latest) and exactly this card. You will make all them happy ...
