I have the same machine. May I ask how you got the 19H14 Update?
H15 is the final Catalina full-installer installed on a 32GB USB2 plug with Patcher v.1.4.4. It can be D/L and built with either MDS or GIB MacOS Master https://www.tonymacx86.com/threads/...ad-macos-catalina-directly-from-apple.295248/ from GIB select option 2.

H114 is a Supplimental Update via the Software Update CP and CatalinaOTAswufix.app. H505 is the next Security Update Beta which runs without issues on the iMac11,2.

Hello to all,

Just reporting successful update of Catalina 10.15.7 with security update Catalina 2020-001, which resulted in build 19H505.
Machine is a 17" MacBook Pro 5,2 ( C2D) (Mid-2009) with Samsung SSD.

I followed instructions from K two, which were included in boxed section of the Post #13124 (page 525) by KennyW. Looking at that post will present instructions in context of installation.

Note in particular, K Two's instruction to completely empty contents in /Library/Updates/
Follow instructions, which appear on screen while running @jackluke's CatalinaOTAAswufix app.
It may take two attempts to actually succeed in full download of security update. Let machine go through two or three reboots (read K two post) before booting form USB stick containing Dosdudes1's 1.4.4 patcher, and applying the patches appropriate for your machine model. It may be required to apply dosdued1's patches more then once for full functionality

Hope this information may be of help.

It seems that after 10.15.4 chrome is crashing randomly to people!
This is how I fix mine.
I have MacBook Pro (17-inch, Mid 2010) 10.15.6 (19G2021) using the Dosdude unsupported MacBook Pro.

Click open your Finder, On the top Menu, Click On Go -> Library -> Application Support -> Google -> Chrome

Right mouse click on Chrome and Move it to the Trash.

1609017148075.png

Next, use Safari to download the latest Chrome.

This is the instruction on how to re-install chrome:

In Summary,
Your Chrome has too many baggage in the folder that cause the chrome to crash.
This remove those third parties plugins that chrome is using.

My system is the unsupported MacBook Pro using Dosdude latest version.
1.4.4 - 5/28/2020

• Fixed compatibility with Catalina version 10.15.5
• This version also supports Catalina version 10.15.6 and 10.15.7

I was able to run google chrome again.

At least with my iMac 12,2/BCM94302CDP:

The Catalina 19H505 has the same annoying disease as the Big Sur 11.01 and 11.1 releases - it likes to disconnect the BT devices during sleep and refuses so to wake on sleep from a used BT devices...

I have to connect a cable mouse or use screen sharing to wake the system up. Even then it will not reconnect the BT devices, which is worse than Big Sur.

Any confirmation of this odd behaviour with other systems?

Not. Perfect for me in my Mac Pro 5,1. It wakes with the BT keyboard and also with the trackpad.

H505 no issues Mini3,1 w/trackpad/keyboard/iPad. Doesn't the latest Big Sur Beta fix the BT issues?

Edit:

Yes, 20C69 fixed it. Got confused with all these new versions.

Still confused, but 20C69 has still the same problem. I hope the 11.2 beta or upcoming 11.2 release is going to fix it.
On the Mojave thread you can read similar post when using the most recent security upgrades...

Apple has (probably) new buggy code shared between all these major releases.

Love those muddy waters...
Well, I fought all the way thru the Catalina updates (learning Terminal). I did MDS for the full installer upgrade (success) and then I learned about Jackluke's reinstated purple folder OTA and got to 1505 (success). All stages, a big learning curve for me. I am only here with you now because I safety boot into 1505 . Any thoughts on how I can keep my 1505 update without a Safety Mode Boot? I am sorry for my newbie language. But, I think this project is cool and worthy and I want to be a part of it. Any help is APPRECIATED. Happy New Year!

It would be better if you can have your Signature reflecting your setup when asking for help :)

The latest Catalina version from Security update beta 002 is 19H505. I am still running 19H114 from the released Security uodate 001 since I don't like running beta in my working iMac.
If you can boot into it in safe mode only, then there should be some 3rd party installed Kexts causing the hanging.
Why not run the more stable public release version ?

Safety Boot? Are you sure? You see it in red letters in the up right corner?

Hello there! On a macbook pro 2009 with Catalina installed, Microsoft applications constantly crash. This is not the case with other programs. Only word, excell, power Point. Sometimes they work, but more often they crash when opened and can't be started. Reinstalling programs, and Catalina itself does not give anything. After restarting the computer, it may or may not work. Start to work by themselves, without visible tampering. I.e. some kind of addiction I see. I don't know what to do anymore.... Can you help me?

This could be related to the Library Validation implemented by Apple:

DosDude1 Post-Install Patch provides the Library Validation Disabler patch, which should improve the situation.

Finally:

View attachment 1701809

Had to boot the system disabling OpenCore normally needed to switch on the AMD video acceleration. First installed the latest 19H14 using @dosude1 patcher (install to disk) and applied directly the latest security update..

Now patching for iMac 2011 and sleep...

my personal iMac12,2 recipe starting:

1a. disable OpenCore
1b. disable SIP (has been before)
2. download and install @jackluke OTASWfix app
3. start the app and follow the on screen instructions - OTA upgrades will be detected and downloaded into the /Library/Updates folder
4a. let the iMac reboot several times and install the upgrade until it is finally done, check the version, should now be 19H505, if not proceed to 4b
4b. if installation fails then delete contents of /Library/Updates and start over with 3.
5. reboot into the @dosdude installer (regardless which OS version) and run the post install patches option again
6. reboot into your Catalina 19H505 and let the patch updater install missing patches
7. reboot again and install iMac12,2 sleep patches
8. enable OpenCore again on next reboot
9. run test apps as Valley OpenGL benchmark to check basic functionality

Honestly, installing Big Sur is more easy than this....
Worked the same way for my GPU upgraded iMac 11,1 (i5 late 2009); updated to 19H114.
However I didn't boot into the @dosdude1 installer but let his Patch Updater do the job; however since SIP was reenabled by the update I had to manually permit launching of /usr/local/sbin/patchupdaterd by right clicking and opening it. Having Patch Updater reinstall all patches, rebooting and reinstalling and rebooting again brought everything back to normal.

Hi ! I have an iMac mid 2010, 11.2; 3.06 GHz Dual-Core Intel Core i3; ATI Radeon HD 4670. How do I roll back to 19H114 without losing files? Thank you for your help!

While my experience is mostly the same, I also didn't launch the DosDude1 Catalina Installer USB drive. I just launched the Post-Install Patcher installed in Utilities. While it seemed to run fine by re-applying its patches, I still lost the sound. Finally, I noticed SIP was re-enabled. But there was no way to boot into Recovery since my Catalina disk did not support it with a Stop sign. While I could boot back to my High Sierra in a 2nd internal SSD, the new GPU with GOP vBIOS had no boot screen to show and manipulate the mouse for Terminal access. Finally, I had to swab back my old GPU to do that. Then everything worked fine again in 19H114 on re-patching.

Now I wonder whether OC can boot into the Recovery partition of HS to disable SIP ? That will save much troublesome, although EG2 ROM serves the purpose well.

So far, I think system down-grade requires a wipe & full re-install. Old system cannot be installed over new system but possible for new over old as upgrade. Not sure whether Time Machine could do and it seems to be broken for Catalina in unsupported Mac even if it does for officially supported Mac ...
