I used MacBook Pro 2018 with Monterey to create the USB bootable for Catalina. Is that the problem? It should show up named as "macOS Base System". Try a different USB drive, that'll probably help.

I am afraid that I have the same problem that you have. But I am not lucky enough to do anything….@dosdude1 the Video Legacy Patcher remains the point of failure for me, even with latest update: Frozen progress bar on white screen requiring hard restart. Just today re downloaded complete Cat installer, newest Post Install Patches, Force Cache Rebuilt. With new version though, now cannot boot into Cat, with same progress problem.
Lucky still had Installer from a week ago, hangs, off course but can boot in OS. Library validation rollback works from UI Patch updater ok.
So at this point only Cat Patcher from 1 week ago saves me. I would like to simply transfer this working copy to another usb device, just copy over is ok? Be still bootable?
Perhaps next step is reinstalling OS from macOS Utilities in case there's an underlying issue there that Video Legacy Patcher won't "take". Just wanting to confirm that data on disc should remain intact, it installs over the current installation?
Cheers
Thank a lot, I'll double check on your first postYour modded iMac does not need any old or new (legacy non metal) graphics patches, it will run without any such patches. You have a metal dGPU supported with Catalina and even Big Sur.
In addition you might consider to use OCLP instead of this patcher if you are willing to sacrifice AirPlay and the iGPU. In return you can run Catalina and Big Sur completely unpatched, even Monterey. Checkout the GPU thread (first post) in my signature and check out OCLP….
BTW: The external display will work when using OCLP…
When the update first came, I installed it and many of my problems were fixed. However, another update came later and it broke again.
so i want to install again this patch:
1.4.5 - 9/7/2022
• Added much-needed improvements to Legacy Video Card Patch for non-Metal video cards
• Fixed Library Validation/App Crashing issues
• Updated MouSSE to latest version
How can i?
MBP 6,1
Catalina 10.15.7
Thanks!

I think you should not selected others, if you don´t know what they are for.Hey, firstly thanks to the contributors who answered my questions, and managed to fix the issue. I used the left option key if that's important.
I had a question whilst updating the patch there were a few items that were not selected automatically (like the others), should I have selected them?
Hi!Guys !
I want back this patch.
How?
Thanks.
Already told you:Hi Dosdude1,
Sorry for my question, but i not found any information for works my secondary monitor after the new patches.
Could you help me please. Thanks a lot.
Andrea
This fix has been included years ago into the iMac patch set needed additionally for iMac12,x running dosdude1 patched Catalina. There is no need to apply it twice.Ok i know dosdude1 is a busy dude (i've mailed him a couple of issues and fixes)...so im here to help with the GPU port problem - having just performed the install in the last week i spent a lotof time on this...
Irrelevant of you having the graphics patch or not, metal gpu or not, it is in fact Catalina that is stopping GPU ports working...especially display port connections..there is a fix which requires editing a plist inside the AppleGraphicsDevicePolicy.kext The operation has to be performed precisely so i've documented it here :
Enable disabled GPU ports
I found this fix from numerous sources and collated them into clear steps.
Hi Dosdude1,Already told you:
This mac does not need any graphics patches. Since deinstallation is a pain your only option is to build a new installer, install Catalina again and avoid the installation of graphics patches with the post installation tool. Uncheck the graphics patches! The older version of the patcher had this on the 2011 iMac per default (because there were no patches available).
The external screen might need an active miniDP adapter/connector, the simple white one sold by Apple a decade ago does not work.
In addition the standard @dosdude1 patch set for this system breaks sleep & wake, does not support AirPlay, leaves the HD3000 iGPU disabled. If you want to address all these problems check the installation instructions we compiled on the iMac 2011 iMac GPU upgrade thread, only a short version here:
1. Get the patcher and the latest Catalina InstallAssistant, install Catalina but avoid legacy graphics patching at all cost.
2. Add Kepler GPU and machine related patches:
Mid 2011: Install this package to avoid sleep problems, black screen etc. or follow the guide from this post and this post.
then it doesn't work at all on MP 5,1. There is a need to do it.This fix has been included years ago into the iMac patch set needed additionally for iMac12,x running dosdude1 patched Catalina. There is no need to apply it twice.
This looks the the famous AMFI issue which has been solved with this patcher long ago, but changed recently. I have no idea which method is in use right now since I do not use Catalina any longer.Hi Ausdauersportler
I "claimed victory before".

Just to repeat a last time the current recipe to install @dosdude Catalina on an Kepler GPU modded iMac:Hi everyone,
My experience about the issue relative the "AMFI: SIP is off, allowing core dump for pid...."
After some test with my Mac 12,2 and Catalina 10.15.7 I decide to remove all system with this method:
You can to try to install directly the Catalina OS directly in the old HD should be keep all Documents/Desktop and Application with the same account.
- Remove the HD from the iMac.
- Replaced the HD with another wiped.
- Create a USD drive with Catalina Patcher from DosDude1 site.
- Start the installation.
- Recovery any my application and documents only from my old HD (Not the system environment because after doesn't work and you will have the same symptom as before).
- Then if you have a GPU replaced with another or second monitor attached.
- Problem with the internal Monitor (Blank screen) only it works with start the OS using the ALT key.
- Some applications doesn't work and freeze so they need to re-install.
- See on https://forums.macrumors.com/thread....1596614/page-236?post=28406927#post-28406927 for install the correct kexts file.
- In the End you will have both monitors up and running with good performance.
- You can also update the Night Shift Patch if the OS will ask.
Now my issue when the Mac goes to suspend mode, it crash in panic mode and reboot, see on attach the log.
Someone could help me?
Thanks in advance
Cheers
I just recently updated my late 2009 iMac for Catalina. Finally I thought every issue was resolved then I realized the Zhuyin input method did not work. Most input methods I've tried have the same issue that can only get the first character then the next character empties all.• Has anyone found a workaround for the unreponsive Safari Extensions tickboxes bug since 10.15.3?
Safari > Preferences ⌘, > Extensions > Tickboxes (on left) – will not enable upon clicking
• Japanese and Chinese Input Sources/Methods alike fail to convert letters to characters – usually freezing entirely, since Catalina's release. My only workaround is booting into a small Mojave partition to type documents, and then transfer to Catalina.
Is there any fix found for this?
System Preferences > Keyboard > Input Sources > + > Japanese or Chinese (Pinyin - Simplified)
• AirDrop is gone – I've been using Telegram messenger to send files from macOS ⟷ iOS. AirDrop isn't essential, but it is missed.
• Software Update pane reads "Your Mac is up to date" regardless if updates are available. I'm sure many are having this issue though – you can always download a new installer app with a Mojave partition or dosdude1's patcher
