So In order to use the Patched Sur by @BenSova i download the dmg, run it and follow the prompts to create the USB installer, correct? I want to install Big Sur on my internal drive, so do I just run the USB and install Big Sur to my internal drive, kind of like we did with the @dosdude1 patchers?

the only reason I ask is because I’m confused by my this point on his GitHub...

12. Once the installer boots, select reinstall macOS and agree to the Terms and Conditions. Then, select the drive you want to install Big Sur onto, (it should be the same drive you ran the patcher on).

thank you for any/all help.

When you reboot the computer, press the alt option key, run the installer. Next select "Install Big Sur", agree to the terms of conditions of installing Big Sur (basically just the usual work flow provided by apple) and then it gives you the option to install it on your internal drive, external drive (if available) etc.

Hi all Update from BS 11.0.1 (20B50) to 11.1 (20C69) successfully performed on cMP5.1 since last night.

Full installer downloaded with MDS.

USB installer patched with Barry's Patcher 0.5.1 The installation went without any problems.

All of them work fine as with (20B50), Airport, Handoff, Sleep ...

Not yet had time to test everything but it looks promising ...

Can you tell me which steps you followed. Trying to update 2012 Mac Mini from 11.0.1 (20B28) to 11.1.
Tried Patched-Sur @BenSova but keep getting various errors at the very beginning, after selecting, Release > Update > Use MacOS 11.1 > entering my password; I get:
Error 1x1
Message: "Password:"
"installer: Error - the package path specified was invalid: '/Users/Alexander/.patched-sur/InstallAssistant.pkg'."

I didn't know that there is Patchkexts.sh file and Patched Sur app inside USB drive. I think I will have to use terminal commands ( that I don't know them) after clean install. Thanks God that They are inside USB drive.
I would imagine (in view of what it says in your screenshot) that clicking on "continue" should install the kext necessary for your wifi to work.
I would say try it and see.
If it doesn't work you can always download Barry's micropatcher and run the patch-kexts from that after booting into the Big Sur installer USB and issuing the terminal instruction given at part 15 of the instructions
https://github.com/barrykn/big-sur-micropatcher
But I can't see why clicking on continue won't do it.

Using StarplayrX Big Mac, it was much simpler for me this time: I created a BS usb installer stick, booted from it, ran preinstall.sh from bigmac-master, installed BS restarted from a Mojave install stick, disabled SIP and set boot-args to "-no_compat_check" and bob's your uncle! No post install for the 5,1 Mac Pro as it ends up to a boot loop/panic. Nothing is patched and everything runs beautifully! WiFi is from a tp-link USB adapter.

Last time I used Bens tool it failed to patch, since it copies the micropatcher to the USB, I just ran it off the USB.

Seems similar to my error, see a few posts up. I'm stuck at this step.
Please post if you get it figured out.
Anyone else have any ideas?

Make sure the typed commands are correct, a simple typing error makes an invalid command.
If the path is invalid it points out to a path that is wrong.

The easiest way to circumvent path mistakes is to drag and drop the file into the terminal window.

Thanks and I agree. I initially installed 10.0.1 using BarryKN's micropatcher method, and absolutely, be careful with your typed commands and drag and drop to terminal window is a good way to keep things careful and safe.
That said, unless I'm missing something, using Patched-Sur it's all GUI, nothing to type, at least not at the early stages that I am stuck at.

Ok, so I got Big Sur installed on my system, but do not have wifi. Is there something else I need to do to get it going? The rest of the process was simple using BarryKN micro patcher.

Thanks everyone!

@Mac_tech here a MDS-Tool for Mac downloadlink
you can download lates and older Full Installer macOS

My update of the RC-20C69 went, as with Beta2, without any problems on my iMac late 2012.

After creating a bootable USB stick with Micropatcher 0.5.1, install it normally,
then run the kexts-patch.sh and then WLAN and everything else in terms of
Hardware works fine, as with a supported iMac.

Big Sur 11.1 (20C69) Succefully BigMaced on my Mac Pro 3.1 (early 2008) with additional Jackluke's Legacy USB fix.
I performed a clean install and migrate user account from 11.0.1, it's dumbest method, but it work.

I tried the latest BigMac and 11.1 and am still having issues. I'm thinking all Mac Pro 3,1s are not alike. My machine is left after the install with a "BigSur" APFS volume and an "Update" APFS volume which tells me that something interrupted the process and cannot continue (The "BigSur - Data" volume is also there and hidden as it should be). I end up booting back to my Catalina SSD and not the BigSur SSD.

The only success I had was doing an disk image of the BMO1 to my SSD....that worked but the subsequent BMO2n disk image completed but wasn't recognized as something that could be blessed and bootable. Weird.

Yes yes I know perfectly it is already the third installation I do on my Macbook Pro.
I have always found myself very very well ...
I have already done the backup with Carbon Copy Cloner as well.
I would like to try tonight with the hope of not doing any damage.
I was not meaning to imply you didn't know about the EFI Boot step. We need to be aware that lots of other "newbies" casually drop into this forum. If they read incomplete instructions, then they will make errors in their installation. So, I was just trying to add a comment on a crucial step in Barry's install process for others to see. Cheers!

Well, not sure what the issue was but it

No worries, did not take it as an affront.
That said, was actually in the process of posting that, as always, I managed to figure out my problem, myself. 🤷‍♂️
Not sure what the issue was, but it was clearly coming from the Patched-Sur app not downloading the 11.1 Installer. So I downloaded it manually, then pointed Patched-Sur at the downloaded installer, and the rest went pretty smoothly. Had to apply the Patch Kexts afterwards, but everything seems back to normal now and I'm updated to 11.1.

Currently benchmarking 11.1 Opencore and MicroPatcher installs on my Mid 2012. This is a question I've been having for a few weeks now, and figured I'd run the tests myself. Will report back when I'm done. Both are very stable, and have their benefits and drawbacks

Hello there, I wonder if there is anyone ran into the same problem as mine.
I upgraded to 11.0.1 from Catalina following the steps of the micro patcher, everything been great.
However when I tried the very same process for the 11.1 update, my late 2012 MacBook Pro would boot into recovery instead of reinstall the OS, and it will ask me for the password for decryption, and my password wouldn't be correct. I also tried the GUI version Patcher Sur, same problem. I did tried boot into EFI boot first then the installer.
Appreciate any help, thanks!
