Installation proceeded to the end. MBP5,2 which is spoofed as MBP11,5 according to OCLP build protocol.

Could not boot the installed Monterey quite to the login/setup screen. Instead showing the spinning wheel for some seconds, then black screen for a few seconds, repeatedly. It also showed the trackpad pointer which could even be moved during the black screen phases.
The USB-SATA disk interface shows activity all the time.
When setting verbose mode in OCLP, I first saw what is in attachment 1 for about a minute, then what is in attachment 2 without end; don't know if this is related to the intermitting spinning wheel seen in non-verbose mode.
MBP5,2 has dGPU, in use should be the Nvidia Geforce 9600M GT.

- Observation during installing: when rebooting, OCLP didn't automatically pick up macos installer or final volume, resp. (like I've seen for BS). I pointed it manually to the right volume on each reboot.

- Finally, unrelated, I've enabled Firewire booting in the OCLP settings, but OCLP boot picker doesn't seem to see the connected Catalina drive (which is visible, but not correctly bootable, in Apple boot selector).

I'm now using the OCLP 0.1.7 status from about 1hr ago.

Very happy that my old MBP5,2 already gets that far on day three / page 12 of the Monterey era! Thanks!
Getting closer with MBP5,2 (mid 2009, non-metal, legacy USB).
I've made my account auto-login, and it boots to my desktop. Slow of course, sometimes freezing, but mail, Safari etc. do work for a while. Because of the freezing, I write this from BS.

I didn't attempt a clean installation, on the contrary...
- starting with an existing 11.5b2 installation which contains all user data, settings etc by migration from Catalina. It does contain root volume patches for graphics acceleration
- cloned it (CCC full clone) to another SSD on USB
- installed 12.0b over it with OCLP 0.1.7; it boots to the intermitting spinning wheel instead of the login screen
- setting auto-login for my existing account makes it boot to my desktop.

Have a look at the Monterey Discord discussion. Thanks to jackluke for many hints.

My MBP 10,1 upgrade install of Monterey using OpenCore-Legacy-Patcher-monterey-support (from a few days ago) seemed to work okay but now the cursor/pointer will disappear (I use a MX Master mouse). I can get the cursor/pointer back by sweeping the trackpad or the mouse for a while.

Also, the computer won't wake from sleep; it requires a hard reset.

I tried a clean install, used migration assistant to restore my files and reset the PRAM and SMC but I still have the same problems with the cursor/pointer and sleep.

Im going to install on an external SSD given this uncertainty. I’ll do backups too. It’s a spare system but I don’t want to have to rebuild it if I don’t have to.
Turns out OCLP didn't set the correct SMBIOS for MBP11,2—bug fixed.

How? Can’t get WiFi working 😔 please help me 🙏🏻
OCLP fakes WiFi adapter ID and injects proper kext on system startup, to make it short. In my case, patcher correctly defined my iMac model and applied all required settings in automatic mode.

Can you please write me the exact steps that you made? Because I have tried OCLP and it does nothing because it keeps telling me that my Mac is supported and patching does not required. I would really appreciate it. Thanks in advance!

Check the first post of this thread and get the nightly build of OCLP. The stock 0.1.6 is for Big Sur, only. It will work for pre 2012 models with Monterey. Check also back the last new posts about that. Online docs are available, too.

Sure, I can.
1. Start OCLP 0.1.7.
2. Choose "Build OpenCore" option.
3. Choose "Install OpenCore to Internal drive".
4. Restart your Mac.
5. Start "Software Update" in System Preferences.
6. Choose "Install MacOS 12 beta".
7. Profit ;)

By the way, what's your model and configuration? It would be more convenient to have it in your signature.

Here is another test on MacBookPro6,2 dualnonmetalGPUs in booting Monterey, without acceleration of course and without Wifi , this is made possible again thanks to @ASentientBot who found the workaround to set "auto login", because the multiuser loginwindow crash without Metal, but applying this is not so simple because you need to complete the apple setup assistant that is very slow, then after the login loop, remove the .AppleSetupDone then reboot to setup assistant from there using a keyboard shortcut key (discussed on discord) to change the login options (setting a blank password won't work properly), more easier if you can boot from a Metal Mac and set the admin user with "auto login".

I am trying to make some LaunchAgents plist to automatically open Accounts.prefpane on setup but it's not easy.

For network ethernet fix using the Catalina AppleBCM5701Ethernet.kext worked as BigSur.

Third party USB Bluetooth CSR still work with stock Monterey drivers.

HighSierra AppleHDA still fix sound and mic (the new siri works), generic IntelHDGraphics kext (without GLdriver) and ASentientBot Nvidia ResmanTesla fixes (without GLDriver) also fixed framebuffer, brightness control and dualGPU switching.

Using the latest nightly build I got it installed onto an iMac11,2 with K610M. No BT, no WiFi (Big Sur adjustments are broken for Atheros WiFi and Broadcom BT modules).

This is more a proof of concept right now. Had a hanging system after the 2nd stage, had to power cycle the iMac to get the installation finished. Everything else like Ethernet, Sound, graphics is working smoothly.

EDIT: You need a wired USB keyboard and mouse :)

With some impressive finding from @jackluke, we were able to get HD 4000 acceleration in macOS Monterey on our Discord with EduCovas! We will be pushing these changes to OpenCore Legacy Patcher shortly:

Excellent news!

I can look forward to my 2012 Mac mini(w/ HD 4000) able to run Monterey in near future. Thank you!

Here is my config:

And as you can see there is no option for that what you mentioned on your post.

Hi

here i also tested partial kext injection nvidia where i already got kext loading

now I needed the OpenCore Legacy Patcher to inject the rest without errors

I tried it with 0.1.7 but it advises me the Hackintosh ARG but I already use it because in Big Sur I applied it and it worked

would it be possible to fix this problem in another way?

I saw that I was successful for the HD4000 and I also have it
if you need tests I have some PC with various types of graphics to be able to test

I even have an asus with ATI Radeon HD5730 to test it

thanks for your papers

I got Monterey installed on my mid-2014 13" MacBook Pro 11,1 by using the patcher and upgrading from Big Sur 11.4. My drive was running file vault before the upgrade. Everything seems to be working well.
