Hi,
Do others have the same problem as me with Universal Command, the connection is lost as soon as the other Mac goes in standby. After it is not possible to reactivate the mac in standby with mouse sharing, keyboard, trackpad. You have to wake up the other Mac with his own mouse and after a long time the connection comes back ... (OCLP 0.4.3)
Well, it's still in beta ... but would it be specific with OCLP?

Cheers🍻

Maybe the "automatically reconnect" checkbox needs to be on on both Macs?

Somehow i cant get my 2015 macbook pro 15 intel only to run UC.
My mac mini 2012 works fine, but whenever I select the ipad on my MBP as my display it turns into sidecar function.

All checkboxes have been set the same way on both my Mac's.

Anyone???

Ok, I'm having some weird problems with Airpods 1st & 2nd Gen disconnecting every few minutes from my MBP11,2. Will try a clean install (& latest OCLP) to see if it's just me.

Correct. Wi-fi does work perfectly if I enable it. Bluetooth works perfectly.

No guarantees though, Mac Pros seem to be the hardest range to get going, or at least it seems that way following the discussions on here. Good luck!
Great, thanks for the help! I only have one more question (for anyone) before I start so I know what I’ll have to fight on the way there: Has anyone been able to trick the nVidia web driver into installing on Mojave or above, or will I have to settle for my GT 120 in OS X from now on?

native keyboard backlight on mbp mid09 its working, still on Monterey 12.2.1 and OCLP 0.4.2
all I did was connect a 2nd display for wathing a movie :)

anyone with this experience and what caused it?? just curiosity

I could enable the UC on the MBP11,4 with OCLP, but it would not find the MBP11,3 only the Samsung TV.
From MBP11,3 I was able to mirror the screen to the MBP11,4 (not very usefull though I wanted to extend the screen).

Successfully updated to 12.3 from 12.2 24 hours ago. Used OLCP 0.4.3. All apps working smoothly on MBP 15" 9,1 (mid 2012). Recently went to MBP 9,1 from MBP 8,2 (Catalina 15.7) "transplanting" its existing 16GB 1600 RAM and 1 TB SSD

Ok, so it seems that it's a MacOS Bug since i did a clean install and they're still disconnecting every few minutes, especially the 1st Gen Airpods and bluetoothd crashed when clicking around in Airpods options. Rolled back to 12.2 and everything works fine. Weird.

Keep in mind that Airplay doesn't connect when having "Block all incoming connections" checked in Firewall options. Maybe the same with UC, I haven't used/tested it yet though.

The Airplay works fine, but only to the Samsung Q60 TV and it does not depend on the Universal control. Firewall did not have "block all incoming connections checked", but even with the firewall disabled I could not see the other MBP from MBP11,4.

I have a recurring SSD issue with my MBP 10,1 that I wonder if someone can comment on.
It was running fine with 12.2.1 and I felt lucky so went ahead and updated to OCLP 0.4.3 and then via Software update to the 12.3 Monterey update.
After initiating the update, I got stuck at first reboot with the dreaded "could not verify disk" and corruption in the APFS Container on the SSD that can not be repaired via Disk Utility.
This is a known issue and I have tried these strategies to repair via terminal. All individual partitions check out fine.
This has happened quite a few times before, and I suspect an issue with my SSD but hope it is not, as the MBP runs
flawlessly between installs, and only appears to break like this at updates but I guess it could be an emerging issue that only manifests itself when updating.

Well, if anyone has experience with getting around this without having to wipe and reinstall I would certainly appreciate it. It is a Bootcamp dual boot with a dedicated EFI for OCLP, as per OCLP standard docs. Many thanks for any hints.

Gosh, lucky that I am not the only one. Downside: it was my external backup SDD, and I’m still wondering how it happened. I remember that I unplugged from Native@Catalina-iMac14,2 and plugged it in OCLP@Monterey on MacBookAir4,2… there i could not read it properly anymore…

The only time I've ever hit that "corruption + unrepairable in Disk Utility" situation I had to erase and reformat. BTW, it was a few major macOS releases back, when the 10,1 was still supported, and before OCLP came on the scene.

Like you, I hit the problem when trying to upgrade to a new major macOS version; I've no idea how the corruption occurred. I was also running Windows (via Parallels) occasionally at that time, probably a coincidence though.

Didn't observe this with different SSDs (always Samsung, 840, 860 EVO, 870 QVO) on SATA, USB 2 and USB 3 (latter on an expresscard).
But I had once used an 840 500GB on USB 3 by mistake, and it failed badly. It is rated 1.7 A - too much / just at the limit for this USB 3 port without external power. No way to get it to work with disk utility again. - I then used the stand alone tool PartedMagic (I own the 2016 version) for a complete hardware reset of the SSD, and it is fine again since. Needs to be connected to SATA for PMagic operation, I was using a LaCie expresscard for this which is no longer supported in macOS and crashes it, but works for PMagic.

On my MacPro 4.1 (flashed to 5.1) Monterey 12.2.1 is working fine with OCLP 4.2. However, Software Update does not show the update to 12.3 ("Your mac is up to date").

Is anybody else experiencing this?

I am unsure if it's a good idea to update via OCLP 4.3 and image download just yet.

BTW, I really appreciate all the hard work and commitment by everyone keeping our old Macs alive!

After updating the EFI from OCLP 4.3 with default settings, I was able to install the OTA update and it worked flawlessly.

now i am stuck at the boot screen and the bar fills half up and even after 2 hours, the bar is still only at 50%.
what should i do now?

Hi!

Sorry, for hijacking this thread...

I got a 2011 imac 21,5" yesterday. They told me, they were not able to install a OS. Tried Catalina, and it runs.

Today i get a 2011 imac 27". They say, power button is broken.

So, first question:
Any way to start an imac without power button?

Main Questions:
21,5" i want to sell, but the 27", which BT Card do i need?
And of course: which GPU is recommended?
I prefer nvidia cards, and i found the thread about gpus, but dont really understand it...
But if you tell me an ati card is better than nvidia, then i choose ati.

Thank you all
