21,5" i want to sell, but the 27", which BT Card do i need?
BCM94360CD
And of course: which GPU is recommended?
I prefer nvidia cards, and i found the thread about gpus, but dont really understand it...
That's too bad, you need to know what you're doing.
But if you tell me an ati card is better than nvidia, then i choose ati.
ATI ceased to exist 15 years ago. It's AMD.
You can choose a Nvidia card, this will make your life more fun, as Nvidia support has been dropped from Mac OS and you will be able to spend a lot of time tinkering with drivers from previous systems.

Since you are looking for a hardware upgrade path in a totally wrong thread, I suggest you open a new thread in here.

I've been searching my a$$ off to get an answer on my UNIVERSAL CONTROLE question.

I have two systems:

Mac mini 2021/6,1(unsupported) running OCLP 0.4.3 and macOS 12.3 UC is working flawlessly with my iPad Air 2020
&
MacBook Pro 2015/11.4 (supported) running OCLP 0.4.3 and macOS 12.3 UC is NOT working with my iPad Air 2020

I can see the feature in the settings and have selected it just like on my mini, but whatever I try UC is not working on my MacBook.
Logging out and in of iCloud did nothing, turning off firewall, turning off and on the UC feature and the devices, nothing sees to get it to work.

Edit: All I get with my MacBook is the sidecar feature.

If anyone can point me into the right direction, that would be amazing!

Hello,

Has anyone updated OTA a mid 2011 27" iMac (AMD WX4130 + BCM 94360CD) from Monterey 12.2.1 to 12.3 ?

If yes, OCLP 0.4.2 is OK or is 0.4.3 needed?

Thank you for your answers,

sorry if the information has already been given, I have not seen it.

Thank you.

Yeah, i read about nvidia is to old, and there are no drivers available any more.
Then AMD...

Like you, I hit the problem when trying to upgrade to a new major macOS version; I've no idea how the corruption occurred. I was also running Windows (via Parallels) occasionally at that time, probably a coincidence though.
Thanks @rehkram appreciate the comment.
This has happened 6-7 times or so to me on the same computer over the last 8-10 months. Not on the other one that is not running bootcamp, but dual boot ubuntu..
I guess it could be a Win Bootcamp dual boot thing or something wrong with my SSD or some form of corruption on it that builds over time. Those are my candidates. Ah well.. Time machine is my friend ;)

On Late 2009 iMac 10,1 21 inch, After update to Monterey v12.3 with OCLP v4.3,
Messages will not launch correctly ( no messages viewer window & menu selections corrupted),
...then will crash. ...was working fine under 12.2.1

Any Suggestions, please?

I'm seeing the same thing on my Late 2009 11,1 iMac 27". Ever since updating to OCLP 0.4.3 and Monterey 12.3, Twitter and Messages crash frequently.

2011 iMac (NVIDIA QUADRO K1100M N15P-Q1 2GB GPU) updated (clean OpenCore install ) Big Sur - > Monterey.
Everything seems to work ok.

Next I will install Monterey in my MacMini 2012 server.

Anyone has test Opendirectory etc. in unsupported Mac?

- screen share not work? I only see black screen?

EDIT: solved

Turn all the screen sharing settings off

Restart Mac

Turn all the screen sharing settings on

Now it works again :)
Hey man cheers I have a 2011 Imac and just upgraded the gpu to k1100m. Did the opencore legacy install Monterey and everything installed perfect but the minute I install the post install patches from OPencore Legacy Patcher, when reboot it freezes before getting to the middle of the apple boot screen. Any advise on what to do or what could be happening?

Previously I did the vbios flash of the gpu and that went perfect and been searching everywhere but I got no solutions to this problem.

Also could you please share with me your config.plist from opencore to see if I can find out the differences with me and find a possible solution? I really appreciate the help!!!

Nobody here uses a manually crafted/edited config.plist, it is generated automatically by OCLP.

Please just download the latest OCPL version, generate and write OpenCore to your boot disk and go ahead. Whenever you change your hardware you need to generate the OpenCore config through OCLP, again. It is hardware specific.

i updated my Mac 5.1 to OCLP 0.4.3 and after that i tried the update to 12.3
now i am stuck at the boot screen and the bar fills half up and even after 2 hours, the bar is still only at 50%.
what should i do now?
Thanks
Same to me. MacBook Pro 11,3. The Mac starts up only in safe mode. Any ideas?

I forgot to write: I already run Post Install Root Patches but can't install it because doesn't accept the admin password, that is correct. I have two admin accounts, the passwords are correct, but they don't work when asked to launch the patcher as root.

The MBP11,3 will only boot into safe mode until patched. This has been described in the OCLP docs.
If you are 100% sure to use the correct passwords try to trigger the setup routine again and create a new admin account following this guide.
Otherwise install from the scratch…

Have had this on my MacBook Pro mid 2014 the cause I have found is interrupting the install to soon to patch it the fix? Safe mode unpatch post root install reboot back to safe mode log in enter password let installer continue then safe mode to patch it is possible to install on mid 2014 without a hard reboot I have found but you have to time safe mode perfectly maybe after the third progress bar

Okay so apparently I hit a slight snag... 12.3 with OCLP 0.4.3 on my mini6,1 -- everything works well except my SDCard reader. The reader shows up in system info, but doesn't recognize any sdcards. I read elsewhere that resetting PRAM might fix this, but I'm hesitant to do that since it might break OCLP. Suggestions?

EDIT: I rebooted, and now the reader is working, which leaves me with more questions than answers. 😄 Has anyone else experienced this?

I did exactly this, with my k1100m already vbios patched and installed, I start the MOnterey installation no problem it finishes doing it. At the end I do the post install patches restart the computer and freezes at restarting it only gets to a little before the half of the apple black loading screen and thats it. It wont do anything.

Imac 27" mid 2011 with k1100m gpu upgraded. I tried to load big sur but it wont even boot to the installation.

Reset NVRAM, reset SMC. If this does not help go back to the last known working config.

I did both reset nvram and reset smc and nothing. There is not a last known working config, because I just received the machine installed the k1100m gpu and starting doing this. Again I installed Monterey 12.2 from scratch, got to the desktop, opened OCLP did the post install patch everything was supposedly done right i checked everything it chose to patch. And the same thing it freezes. I include a picture of the verbose boot to see if you can help or enlighten me on what could be going on and again thanks for the attention and help!!!

in that white box is where it freezes.

Before we dig deep into this:

1. Have you ever tried to install High Sierra (last fully supported macOS) to do some basic tests?
2. Try to use the TUI version and please to not touch any default settings when generating a OpenCore package to be installed.
Neither the GUI nor the TUI is meant to manually change settings unless you do exactly know what will happen. It is meant to generate configs automatically!
3. Can you try to use OCLP 0.4.2 and a Big Sur USB installer to cross check.
4. Which USB devices are connected to your iMac during installation?

Not sure if we face a local hardware problem, you have to believe, but thousands of NVIDIA modded iMacs are used out there with Big Sur and surely with Monterey, too.

Hello,

I answer myself. The OTA update went well :)

I had tried with OCLP 0.4.2 but there was a kernel panic. I simply installed OCLP 0.4.3 on disk and the update continued fine, without having to restart it.

Universal control works between this iMac and an iPad pro :)

1. After putting the k1100m and starting getting all these problems I tried to install High Sierra from scratch. created a usb installer and it would freeze and never let me start the installation. Tried several usb keys and couldnt make it work the installer wouldn't start.
2. Used the TUI version and the GUI version in different configurations, default and touching stuff and all the times it never worked at the end after applying the post install patches it would freeze at the spot it shows in the pictures i attached.
3. I used not only OCLP 0.4.2 but two versions below with big sur to cross check and couldn't start the installation it would always freeze. The only one that would go through is the Monterey (which i tried 12.2 and 12.3 versions). Tried also Catalina OCLP and it would freeze as well.
4. Only usb connected to the mac is my apple keyboard and a logitech mouse.

I thought it was local hardware problem but the Monterey installation goes through without a hitch up until the moment when I apply the post install patches. I have read a lot and see what you're saying which is why I know there must be an easy solution to fix this because ive seen all those cases where the installations where easy not only with my k1100m but all the other gpus that are supported.

😄 Has anyone else experienced this?
there was an issue with card readers not working on some older mac's.
I had a MBP 8,1 where the card reader stopped working and pulled logs and opened up a GitHub issue originally
