I tried to put OCLP 0.4.4Night and after the reboot the Menu Bar disappeared, the keyboard letters did not work (both the Apple keyboard with cable and the MagicKeyboard) and the movements in the GUI (Finder, System Preferences, etc.) was impossible or strange.
The strange thing is that when creating a new user the Menu Bar reappeared and the keyboard worked… So I don't understand what the 0.4.4N version could have messed up.
After many unsuccessful attempts to try to fix it, I reset the System with Time Machine by rebooting from Monterey 12.3.1 USB Key installer and OCLP 0.4.3 and macOS is perfect again.

I didn't see you didn't mention anything about installing the Post Install Root Patch.

From my experience, my machine, MBP (mid2010), becomes pretty unusable after any OS update until I run those. Trying to boot, install assistant etc etc is slow / non-responsive at times. Unplugging my second monitor helps and honestly is won't get recognized until I run those patches.

Glad you got your machine working, and you know what to do if you want to mess around with trying to update again :)

I have been attempting to install Monterey on an iMac (27-inch, Mid 2010) for over 2 weeks now.
I do have an active internet connection when attempting to install.
I did use OCLP TEXT 0.4.3 when creating the bootable USB Media for Monterey.

In the installer log it just repeats: failed to get bridge device and it says it can not download the content.
Does anyone have any ideas? I have been searching this problem and can't find anything on this that works.
I have Big Sur installed no problem, it is only Monterey...

Hello to all,

*** Mid 2009 MacBook Pro 5,2 with 17” screen (Non-Metal)

Updated to Monetary 12.4b1 build 21F5048e via OTA method, using OCLP 0.4.4n GUI (off-line variant). No major issues. I can confirm that iMessage no longer crashes at 1200 sec, however, Siri fails to launch.

Console showed following error message (associated with Siri launch):

“error 18:39:55.963184-0700 SiriNCService [0x7fc670052820] Bad CurrentVBLDelta for display 69675846 is zero. defaulting to 60Hz.”

I also tested Siri with Big Sur 11.6.6 installation, and OCLP 0.4.4 GUI; Siri also failed to launch. Replacing OCLP 0.4.4n with OCLP 0.4.3 (official) restored Siri functionality.

Booted back to Monetary 12.4 and replaced OCLP 0.4.4 with official 0.4.3 release; iMessage 1200 sec crash returned, but Siri launched without issues.

*** late 2012 iMAc 27” 3.4 GHz i7 quad core, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 680MX 2 GB.

Installed Monterey 12.4b1 via OTA method, using OCLP 0.4.4n TUI. No issues noted with either Siri or iMessage.

Hope this information may be of help.
I never used Siri so far, but I could try to reproduce your finding on my MBP 5,2 17".
When going back to 0.4.3, did you re-apply its post-install patches or just boot from it and leave the 0.4.4n post-install patches in place?

You're right, ChrisOSX... I forgot to point out that - obviously - the Post Install Patch has always been installed.
While you provoke me ;-) I'll describe what I tried to do, to no avail :)
First I emptied all the "Launch Agents" and "Launch Daemons" folders in the Root Library and Home Library
I also checked that in System Preferences, Users and Groups, Login Items there were no applications and the same thing in the various StartupItems folders.
I have deleted the extensions in the root /Library
I also tried booting in safe mode, noting that in safe mode the menu bar appeared and the keyboard worked perfectly.
I deleted all MyHome/Library/Preferences and also those in the root /Library.
In all of this, I also tried multiple times to reset SMC, reset PRAM, reset EFI boot recreated with OCLP 0.4.3, but without success.
I also tried to play with the System Preferences but, to act, I was forced to reboot every time in safe mode or it was impossible to change something; clicking nothing happened, ditto trying to move with the cursor arrows on the keyboard.
I finally created a new user with admin rights and verified that everything worked fine here.
After that, in order not to have to waste time recreating Account, Mail, etc., I preferred to restore from Time Machine and so I was also able to experience the new excellent way of working Time Machine in doing restores.
I repeat that the problem started appearing immediately after inserting the EFI Boot obtained with OCLP 0.4.4N and restarting the Mac. Restarted, not reinstalled.
You will have realized that I am able to go through the System piece by piece. In 30 years I have never encountered a problem that I was not able to understand and solve directly..., as it has happened now.
Finally, I give the benefit of the doubt that the problem was caused by Boom3D which I never reinstalled. Mah! However, I had removed Preferences and Extensions, etc. everywhere... Boh!...
Ah! Another question is about Adobe Creative Cloud Desktop which was updated on the morning of day 9 and I am now preventing the update from. But, I said, I had deleted all startup items, including this app ...
Who knows what may have caused OCLP 0.4.4N... (???)
The fact is that @Khonokernel has closed the problem page in GitHub and so I can only write here, as I doesn't speak English and so I not have a feeling with Discord

While you have undoubtedly more experience in the field then I, just my opinion, esp being in the jailbreak world. When you restore from backup/icloud backup and or time machine for mac, stuff tends to mess itself up. Old preferences get saved, old files overwrite new ones that work better etc you get the idea.

If you haven't already, I would go into safe mode and create a separate volume partition to do a fresh install, no backup. Go through the install process, build, reboot, post install etc etc of OCLP. My hiccup with mine was trying to get the EFi boot on the internal drive instead of the USB drive. Long story, but I rushed things. End result was it booting to gray screen then going directly to EFI boot. I have picker hidden so it goes right into Monterey.

The age of my machine, High Sierra is the last supported OS. I've installed everything in-between. i.e. dosdude Catalina patcher among other utilities that have installed the correct/edited files necessary to run. Maybe you're missing something? 🤷‍♂️

Just throwing out ideas.

Update big sur first then try again.

I am using MBP 5,5 (mid-2009 13inch) with Monterey 12.3.1 and OCLP 0.4.3.

I have an issue in MS-Word.
When I select the text, it turns into gray square....
Is there anyone to have the same issue?

I've noticed a few recent issues with my late 2012 Mac mini running Monterey 12.3.1.
  • Using OCLP 0.4.3, my SD card reader would only intermittently work. I guess it has something to do with the changes related to SDXC support for Prev-Ivy Bridge Macs mentioned in the release notes because reverting back to 0.4.2 has solved the problem.
  • Another issue I have is that after the screen saver has been running the computer acts really slow for a couple of minutes, almost as though it is out of RAM. The mouse cursor moves fluently, but any interactions with the interface have a substantial input lag, even typing in the terminal. I haven't yet been able to determine if the problem is related to my version of OCLP, my model of Mac, or the specific screen saver I'm using (Sliding Panels slideshow).
Anyone else experience these issues? Monterey has otherwise been great in my experience.

Q: "Your computer restarted because of a problem" -- Severe issue since 12.4b1
Does anyone experience this problem, and would know how to fix it?
Yes, macOS can get stuck reporting this.

Delete files from /Library/Logs/DiagnosticReports (or possibly/additionally ~/Library/Logs/DiagnosticReports).

If you want to be more precise and keep the other logs except the problem one (though you probably don't need to): https://discussions.apple.com/thread/253346922?answerId=256494744022#256494744022

So I'm confused as to why I'm not receiving updates. I've reverted root patches, fully enabled SIP, restarted and it still won't see the 12.3.1 update. Thoughts? Thank you.

Weird bug I've just noticed. Trying to minimize Safari using the yellow button logs me out. This is with everything as mentioned above 🤷‍♂️
Two questions; 1. How did you get that Dock without the white outline border my Dock has? 2. Using the Dark mode, what is the best Highlight and Accent color combination from a visual standpoint, especially using Word and Outlook. Now I have the Accent color set to Yellow and the Highlight color at Red, which works but doesn't really appeal to me.

My system is actually crashing, it is not only an annoying message.

Still, I deleted everything as per your tip, reset NVRAM, system crashes as before.
Thanks for trying to help, Bmju

The outline of the dock gets solved for me after I run the post install patch. Maybe that along with beta blur.

I don’t use any of those apps so I can’t tell you the best color option. I just left mine at default config.

Actually, yes I have both of those issues. I use the Monterey screensaver, so it doesn’t seem to be specific to only one.

Rebooting restores the SDCard functionality, but I wouldn’t call that a solution.

Does 0.4.2 solve the screen saver lag, too? I might downgrade if so.

You have probably not installed the post install (graphics acceleration) patches on your system?

I have tried to do the Post Install (Graphics Acceleration) patches, the OCLP app show "No patches required".
This is an iMac 15,1 2014 model with an AMD Radeon R9 M290X graphics card (Metal Family: Supported, Metal GPUFamily macOS 2), so I assume the graphics are accelerated. The whole system feels identical in terms of speed to running on macOS 11.6.6 RC1.
How can I check to make sure the graphics are accelerated?
Previously to installing Monterey via OCLP 0.4.3, I have never used the dark mode, and the default Accent and Highlight colors (Accent color; multicolor, Highlight; Accent color) do not work well (can not always see the cursor or what is selected. Set to Red and Orange makes both visible but that is not aesthetically pleasing.
Any suggestions?

No suggestions and no, no need to apply any patches. Your GPU is still fully supported. But you should have a transparent dock, I was just confused because of your question…

I did apply post-install patches associated with a given release of OCLP. In retrospect, I colud have tried to apply each OCLP variant, without volume patching, to identify unambiguously which aspect of OCLP patching is responsible for the changes in OS behavior (when Siri or iMessage is evoked).
I use Siri occasionally to put computer to sleep through verbal command, in part to test system functionality, e.g. to put computer to sleep when, for some reason, it would not do so automatically, or via menu command.

Thanks for responding, I too do not understand that white outline on the Dock. It is there in Big Sur too, which I am running now to check several things.
I will have to check the display settings in the Accessibility preference pane, etc.
Found it! Checking either or both the Increase contrast or the Reduce transparency check boxes immediately shows that white outline! Gone now and looks just like the Transparent function in cDock, the main attraction that app offered in Big Sur. While it is interesting, I have completely deleted cDock due to its insistence on having SIP off and the total number of files involved and required to use the app.

I had this same issue yesterday: rebooted the iMac with the card still in the slot and it worked without any problem. Just tested again now and the card was recognised straight away. I hate intermittent problems...

Rebooting didn't always help in my case. Reverting to 0.4.2 did, however, solve my SD reader problems but not the lag caused by the screen saver. I've tried Flurry for the last couple of days and haven't noticed any lag since switching, so maybe that solved it‽

Interesting. Does downgrading to 0.4.2 from 0.4.3 break anything else in the mini 6,1 that 0.4.3 fixed? I skipped over 0.4.2 originally, so just asking before I take the plunge.

Install using OCLP on cMP with GT710 (no boot option)

Using cMP 2009 at 5,1 Mojave with GT710 and want to upgrade to Monterey using OCLP. I have read several places and different approaches to booting the USB. My original graphics card is in storage, so I was hoping to avoid that route. My Mojave is installed on nVME and the original MacOS is still on an installed SATA HD. I was wondering if anyone has tried installing OC to the EFI on the old SATA HD (using OCLP), then specify that startup disk in preferences. Will the next boot display the OC boot picker and allow be me to install from USB without moving graphics card?

If I do need to get the old graphics card, do I boot option the USB (and specify USB to be the next boot in the OC picker), then power off, reinstall GT710, boot and pick Monterey installer from USB? I see some posts that imply run the install blind using the original graphics card --- not sure I have the guts to do that.

I do have a new initialized SATA drive to receive the Monterey so I don't overlay my good Mojave on the nVME (will eventually move the Monterey to it).

Really don't want to paint myself into a corner so advice is very welcome!
