Still stuck on this. I can't figure out why the SIP settings would show different.
Actually that's the same on mine and has been for a long while now; SilentKnight shows SIP enabled; SSV disabled, System Report > Software shows SIP disabled. I've come to assume that System Report regards SSV & SIP as dependent and if one of them is disabled simply reports SIP as disabled.

I've been running Big Sur unsupported on a 2011 21.5" iMac with stock configuration (other than double the RAM). Curious how well Monterey works on this system at this point. Would you recommend the upgrade?

I have 4 x 2011 21.5" iMacs. I think the graphics card is failing in 3 of them unfortunately. Not comfortable with doing a graphics card replacement myself so I may end up retiring those machines. They've done pretty well.

Still stuck on this. I can't figure out why the SIP settings would show different. I haven't gone into recovery via OpenCore boot picker (shouldn't have to since the OCLP app does SIP settings).

I believe this is the reason (maybe?) why I'm getting the "couldn't receive apple events" when launching total finder. Even though it shows in my automation tab that it does have special events checked.

I’ve found it easy to confuse SilentKnight say I’ve SIP os enabled on monterey then I repatch from a different installation like big sur SIP report would be wrong or boot from usb instead of internal but csrutil status in terminal would always give correct results.

OP was "happy" with the speed of 12.4 on his MacBook, so if in comparison 12.5 feels slower there is something going wrong and the advice of going back to High Sierra or Catalina feels somewhat misplaced (although in terms of overall performance true for almost all older machines).
@Larsvonhier thanks for your smart opinion.
You almost convinced me to retry installing Monterey on my MacBook Pro 7,1 2010, upgraded with a fast SSD and 16GB RAM, removing Catalina patched with the dosdude1 patch… ;)
But I think that macOS cannot be limited to the Finder speed, but it must not have bugs and, above all, it must be compatible with all Apple software at least…
Unfortunately, the “non Metal" MacBooks before 2012 do not allow to use iMovie, Final Cut Pro, the latest GarageBand and so various other updated software.
To tell the truth, even my iMac Metal, that manages Monterey well (100%), not allows to install some Adobe 2022 software now because they require an updated video card; or refuse to install… Sigh!

Late 2012/13.2---12.5.1---4.10
Smoothest yet, after download process, clicked OCLP, a message came up saying that apple eliminated the patches, would I like to reinstall(or words to that effect) another click and after the reboot it is running as well as ever. Thanks to the Devs for simplifying the process for us dummies.

how to install ivy patches manually? oclp beachballing at unzipping binaries (or let me force install on another system/under qemu maybe?) thx

I just successfully installed macOS 12.5.1 (Build 21G83) DIRECTLY from System Preferences.
Upon reboot, the Opencore Legacy Patcher 0.4.10 warning appeared which suggested that I install the "Post Install Patch" and in the end it seems to me that the System is working much better than before.
Attention please
I am also creating a USB stick with the macOS 12.5.1 installer, just downloaded using "gibMacOS" and it is evident, from my second screenshot attached, that Apple has released a new installation file of the same Build 21G83, after a few hours from the first file. The new 21G83 file was released at 21:23:50
I point it out for those of you who in the meantime had used the file at 17:22:45 to create USB Key.
But don't ask me what changes between the two files, because I don't know...
