Hi,

I installed Monterey update 12.6 on unsupported late 2011 MacBook Pro along safari 16 version update while still being on opencore-Patcher v0.4.10 version. Safari is driving me mad, I cannot sign in on apple Amazon nor eBay it's showing " a problem repeatedly occurred with" . When checking console web inspector, it shows on Jslog "an error occurred while trying to load the resource". I tried everything like disabling "WebGL via metal" in experimental feature developer menu. I've also upgraded opencore to version v0.4.1.1.
Please, help would be appreciated. I don't wanna reinstall Monterey once again

Ps: I 've also went by deleting safari 16 and then reinstalled safari technology preview version 16 ... still all the same same error
Hi,

Same issue as you on my MBP 13" early 2011.
Looking for a quick resolution I hope ;)
I've installed Safari beta 16.1 but no change.

Yes it works also with OCLP
I did a bootable clone of my whole Monterey on my unsuppoerted iMac14,1 with OC. After that I made an Upgrade to Ventura b7 with OCLP 0,50 self compiled and everything is fine like Monterey 12,6.

Regarding clones and the Disk Utility technique...The problem in this mega-thread is that we have folks running many different OC implementations and they rarely say which they are using or which patches they have included or excluded. You even noted that your own OCLP was "self compiled" so you see my point. Note that I was very specific in saying OCLP and I'm always running all patches applicable to my iMac 14,2 in the goal of having some sort of apples-to-apples discussion. Some other OC implementations do report generating bootable clones. As does OCLP if you exclude some patches. So it can be very hard to find any angemessene Vergleiche or reasonable comparisons.

In any case, Disk Utility cloning uses ASR under the hood just as CCC and Super Duper do, and as such will fail to generate a bootable clone of Monterey if all OCLP patches are in place. I posted this back on page 302, but this is from my discussion with the developer of SuperDuper on this very topic. (Note that I own both CCC and SuperDuper and would recommend either to anyone).

"...Apple's replicator ASR - which is required to copy the OS - will NOT work if the source has an unsealed snapshot. You need to back out enough of the patch to allow the snapshot to seal. Once that's done, the replication will work."

My workaround was simply to do a Data only backup, then install Monterey to it using my bootable OCLP USB stick. Worked great and it can be updated daily or hourly with CCC or SuperDuper. If I wanted a one-off clone, the Disk Utililty technique is certainly an option. But I would use it only as a third type of backup. The two I always maintain are:

1) TimeMachine hourly
2) CCC Daily

3) could be the Disk Utility clone we are discussing...but with the caveat that it would not be bootable if performed when OCLP patches are all present.

One other thing I'm not sure about is that I only manage to get into Safe mode on Monterey. When I Press Cmd + R after rebooting, it opens Internet Recovery mode. There's no more normal recovery mode ?
You somehow lost your Recovery partition. Normally it is created during the Mac OS install. My iMac 14,2 with Monterey 12.5.1 and OCLP 0.4.10 has normal Recovery mode. Hopefully some of the gang will have some suggestions.

iMac late 2011, oclp 0.4.11, macOS 15.6, safari 16
installation went ok….but I have noticed that pdf cannot any longer be visible in safari. Blank page with ´selectable zones´ corresponding to missing content. PDF ok in Preview Or even in Firefox.
PDF's load on safari 16 for me with a MBP 8,1
running latest GitHub OCLP and MacOS 12.6 (21G115)

Anyone else noticed Share Sheet weirdness with YouTube in Safari under Monterey? Don't know if this is an OCLP thing or not. To see this, click the Share link under a video in YouTube. Not the Safari file-menu Share or the Safari Toolbar Share button, but the Share link that appears under every video in YouTube. The list of Share sites is bizarre. And conspicuously absent is Messages or Text. Most of the Share apps I don't use or recognize- save for Email, Twitter, and Reddit. Anyone else noticed this? Running Monterey 12.5.1 and Safari 15.6.1 and OCLP 0.4.10.

EDIT: No idea what is up with the green boxes in the first jpeg...they don't appear that way in Preview on my Mac.

macOS 12.6 via OCLP 0.4.10 a n d 0.4.11 : massive problems in Safari 16.0: functionality of websites and online shops won't load, show blank page and "Website cannot be loaded due to an (unspecified) error, try again". This happens e.g. on eBay.

Safari 16 is horrible, on supported or not supported Monterey. Thanks gods, I could revert the update.

Try resize a window.
No problem here.

What's going on with Safari v16 on Monterey 12.6 it's completely broken, no one still has come forward with a solution to the loading error on eBay apple Amazon. "An error repeatedly occurred with" while trying to load the tab. I can't even figure out whether it's a WebGL CSS or JavaScript issue. Thx

Unable to recreate.

Installed Monterey on my MBP11,1, chose "partially enabled", re-installed OCLP and got hash mismatch again when press Night Shift button on the control panel. After it I couldn't open Display settings in System Preferences.
After reboot Night Shift and Display settings work fine.
4 days ago I installed 12.6 to a fresh partition on MBP11,1 using OCLP 0.4.11 without disabling any features (or touching other default settings) and have had no 'volume hash mismatch' error thus far, and NightShift also works fine.

Everything is very smooth & stable for daily tasks, SilentKnight reports all security like SIP, SSV, etc, up to date & active. The only crash I have been able to induce thus far is with the GeekBench 5 /Compute > Metal test, which reliably KP's 29 seconds in, but works fine on the Big Sur 11.7 install on same machine.

This Metal-handling issue was expected, as I had it before with 12.4 & OCLP 0.4.8 on same machine - will try booting Monterey from USBKey with OCLP v0.5.0 EFI partition to see if that resolves the issue.

Al those sites work fine for me ... on MBP11,1 w Safari 16 & Monterey 12.6 via OCLP 0.4.11.

Although I run three 4K screens and do not have great expectations in regards of my RX570, Safari resizing is choppy compared to other apps.
It´s unacceptable for me. Seems like a 10 years old beta behaviour. In the same machine, Safari 15 behaves as smooth as it can be.

The issue is present for me as well on a MBP 8,1 MacOS 12.6 and OCLP latest GitHub with safari 16
it appears to happen at login only when using saved password on amazon.
If you login typing your password you are fine

Thanks for the heads-up about SilentKnight – this may be the answer to the security question I asked earlier. I hadn't heard of it before.

In my particular case, some updates are needed. Is it advised that I proceed? And why are these out of date? I used OCLP v0.4.10 and now have OCLP v0.4.11 installed (as an app) which reports no patches needed.

I went ahead and ran the updates after reading the SilentKnight instructions. Here's where I'm at (please advise):
