Hi...I've installed Monterey on my 2009 Mac mini...through OCLP fresh install.
it runs fine ,but after 30 minutes or so ..my apps even settings app or disk utility....any app just won't open ...I will force close.
If I log out,and back in,they will open again ...for awhile, then freezes again

Maybe your drive is in bad state. Maybe time for newer SSD. Also CPU and GPU are too old so why not keep Catalina on it? I had Catalina installed in few macs and it was very polished system.

Did you Disable AMFI?

Edit: now sorted -
reconnecting SSD via FW and while booted on the iMac's internal HDD, I opened OCLP from the Library/Application Support/Dortania folder and checked "Firewire Booting" then "Build and Install Open Core", then rebooted when prompted. This time it did boot successfully from FW, and has done a second time no probs, although the "Firewire Booting" box is still unchecked.

I'm sure originally that box remained checked, but cannot be certain. Would downloading v1.01 then checking "Firewire Booting" (which I didn't do when originally updating) likely work without issue?

Original post:
After well over a year of perfect OCLP running I've come across a problem on my iMac 11.3. Help!

I decided to update to v1.01 and now I can't boot from Firewire. Pulling the SSD out of the Gdrive it boots fine through USB, but checking the 'Firewire Booting' box in the OCLP settings window then closing it, on re-opening the box is not checked.

I tried replacing v1.01 with v0.68 and there is no difference. What has changed?

Check your Activity Monitor for heavy duty apps now you've installed a fresh instance. Spotlight indexing - mds_stores - may be well the source of you're issues.

I have a MacMini3,1 (early 2009). I had no issues. Maybe you need a updated firmware?

macOS 12 works so well I hope Apple has a change of heart to do longer security updates than 3 years. Although the probability is slim, they have been blocking a lot of Intel macs from updating to newer OSes prematurely, so I hope one way to "make up" to those mac owners would be to extend it a little longer than usual.

Hello lads,
I'm trying to install Monterey on Imac 24 from 2008 with 1TB SSD

I downloaded oclp 1.1.0 on another mac (since imac 24 has no operating system), installed and set it for imac 8.1 and created usb.

Started imac 24 with usb oclp created from another mac, started it and with disk utility I initialized ssd apfs again. started installation... but at the end it returns me to the Recovery mode screen... I assume it's USB

What the hell have I done?

In case I can't how do I reinstall something on the imac 24 ssd where it natively reaches up to El capitan

Thank you so much

p.s. it's a shame that dusdude1 patch reaches Mojave... it was easier to install something

he was and is very thorough explaining every step knowing “non doctorates in computerism” would attempt improving their older macs. He is a special person!

Hello.
Why is there no iMac sleep mode setting in 12.6.8 like there was in 10.13.6?

Seeing the M3 memory configurations and pricing makes me appreciate my legacy Mac even more. I'll keep my mid-spec-10-years-ago Mac for longer while Apple works out an appealing upgrade option with enough RAM and storage, hopefully in another 3 years.
(I know it isn't going to win any races against newer machines, but I can sacrifice speed as long as it works, and I get to keep $1000 in my pocket)

Hi Guys !
Could you be so kind please and check if you can "ssh" from other local device to mac you have installed this version of macOS via OCLP ? I have successfully installed Monterey to my MacMini 6,2, but im sadly unable to connect to it via ssh even if Remote Login is On (ssh_exchange_identification: read: Connection reset by peer). Other Sharing options seems to be working.

Thank you very much

Not sure I understand, but I'll take a guess. If you're leaving the USB thumb drive inserted during the macOS installation (in order to boot with the Open Core EFI on the USB thumb drive) it is possible that when the macOS installer reboots, Open Core launches the macOS installer on the USB thumb drive instead of the macOS installer on your SSD.

If this describes what you're observing, you still need to boot from the USB thumb drive (for Open Core), but make sure that Open Core launches the macOS installer on the SSD (to continue the macOS installation) instead of the macOS installer on the USB (which starts the installation over again).

What the heck happened to the wired - no need for BLE - (Mighty) Mouse section in 12.7.1? Very strange behavior for this 12.7.1 release. Totally lost some basic features like scroll speed. Anyone else got this?

macOS 12.7.1 (21G920) a step backwards in build number? Very confused atm.

Inspector Gadget (?) got it solved.

But what has happened to the screencap - SHIFT + CMD + 4 + SPACE BAR - feature in macOS 12.7.1? Again a very weird rendering of a basic function not working the way it supposed to.

All patched up...
