After today's update, System Preferences is showing a new message: "Your mac is running the latest software update allowed by your administrator - macOS Monterey beta 12.0"

Any idea where this administrator part came from? This is a personal MacBook and never had an MDM profile.

Apple bug, shows up on my M1 MacBook Pro as well. Just a cosmetic issue

Hi guys! Just finished installing the macOS Monterey Beta 5 on my MBP 9,2 non retina using OCPL 0.2.2. All was good until the third reboot after which it hang (on the black screen with the apple) mid way for more than an hour... I did a hard reboot and chose install macOS Monterey and shortly after that, the Beta 5 was installed succesfuly. As known already, no BT, but with the sudo command, all restored instantly! Great work and many thanks to all involved in order for us to still use our amazing machines!

Got to test latest public beta, is there a workaround for the NULL bluetooth thing? I am using a BCM943602 card with BT4.2. It was initially working on the fresh update, only after rebooting it disconnected.
Also, integrated USB's don't seem to be detecting connected devices either, but hubs on my TB3 card work. I read the latest betas appear to bug on USB 2 ports?

edit: reading more in depth it seems to be the integrated USB 2.0 hubs on the 5,1 cMP what causes the problem, and wiring the D+ and D- directly to a usb port pins mitigates this issue... weird... there's a way yet to enable back the integrated usb ports of the Mac including that mini header used for the bluetooth data transfer?

I have finished installing Monterey beta 5 to my MacBookPro 11,1 using OCLP.
When it boots up it takes me to the login screen for Monterey. However, once I enter my password it will invariably reboot, briefly display the “shut down because of a problem” screen, and take me back to the login window.

Anyone have any ideas?

Well, I have gotten it to boot successfully, though it takes 2 or 3 tries, getting that “because of a problem” kernel panic-looking screen each time before getting to the desktop. Not sure if that’s a sign of something very wrong or just how this sort of thing goes.

HELP! - Failed to install Monterey Beta 4 or 5
1. Created USB install disk
2. Booting up from USB install (connected to the front USB slot) - SUCCESS
3. BT Keyboard and mouse disconnected (Screen displayed instruction to connect KB and Mouse)
4. Try to connect Keyboard via USB failed as well

My system is MacPro3,1 + OCLP 2.5 NB + Latebloom
boot-args keepsyms=1 debug=0x100 -lilubetaall latebloom=200, lb_range=20, lb_debug=1

I believe this is a simple known issue where you need to plug your KB/Mouse into a USB 3.0 card because you have a 3,1 mac.
Also try connecting a usb hub to the front usb ports and plug your KB/Mouse there.

Done all that and still no go
Next step: will disconnect all disk except for the target monterey install (Sata SSD) and USB installation disk, and see what happen

Well, i ended up nuking, paving, and reinstalling Big Sur to restore from my time machine backup.
I will try this again once Monterey is released properly and the OCLP has been used by a handful of others successfully.
My 2014 MBP is one that in theory shouldn’t have issues, so I don’t know what the deal was with the kernel panics.

I do look forward, though, to rocking out with Shortcuts on my Mac eventually.

Me neither! Are you trying to install Monterey in the internal SSD? I tried a couple of USB SSD's but I am unlucky so far.

I will try it again in a Thunderbolt 2 SSD. Let's see!

Yeah, installed it to my internal SSD. All worked well aside from kernel panics more often than not at boot and a few randomly while using computer.

Once the proper OS is out for a little while I’m sure there will be better write-ups for how to do this and it’ll all be fine. Just not yet!

Update, the bluetooth NULL issue is definitely a issue with the integrated USB interface and is nothing related to incompatibility or drivers.
I did the solution @borp99 posted a few posts ago here, wired the D+ and D- cable from the pcie adapter to an old usb cable and plugged it on my TB3 card, but also plugging usb hubs on the integrated usb's bypasses the issue and can be plugged in there too.
Good solution, I just hope eventually the controller problem with the integrated USB's and header of the motherboard is bypassed with some kind of additional kext

@chris1111 I updated Mac mini 2012 to Monterey Beta 5 with OCLP 0.2.4. I used your latest patchHD4000 and successfully selected my system volume and patched the previous beta 4.

I tried to patch beta 5 but there is this error.
I can't flag this issue on your github https://github.com/chris1111/Patch-HD4000-Monterey/releases
So I have to notify you here.

Fortunately, OCLP can HD4000 on my system volume in a single container.

For anybody wondering: At this time, I am planning on creating a brand new patcher for Monterey. I plan on using a fully native approach (IE not using OpenCore), and supporting only Metal-comptible systems (2012 and later, plus older systems with upgraded video cards). If this ends up being a huge pain I may reconsider, but as of now I will start working on a patcher within the next few weeks.
Is there any progress Collin? How is it going patch creation. It is a while since you state your interest to develop such very very interesting patch, and I am really curious to know if there is any good news or prospective for the future.

Has anyone tried an AMD 6000 series GPU in Montery yet? Think that would be a nice upgrade path for those of us with an unflashed RX 580.

Just a quick question. (I hope.)

I have had a look at this thread, especially the first post, but I am unsure if there are any Bluetooth and Wi-Fi adapters I can get for my MBP 9.2?

If Monterey is a jump too far, I think all that is needed for Big Sur is just the Wi-Fi adapter?

I got the 9,2 over here running Monterey Beta. The only thing necessary is to enable bluetooth by running sudo kill -9 $(pgrep bluetoothd) in Terminal once the update is done. I did not need to upgrade hardware whatsoever. BigSur wasn't a problem either, I did use Barry k's patcher.
