I am running Ventura with OCLP 0.5.3 on a Mac Pro 6.1 with the post install root patch. 2 issues: I cannot video stream, which is not all that important to me. This is on FaceTime and Xfinity TV on their website, though I am able to stream on YouTube. The main problem is, I think, my graphic cards are running hot. At least, I think that is why my fan is going full blast. I don't have the streaming problems or the overheating problems on Monterey. I think Ventura is more of an iPhone like OS, and it sucks. I believe I will go back to Monterey for awhile. I am posting this to possibly help in R&D and other users. If others are having this problem, I hope this will help.

Your are correct. The 13,1 iMac dates from late 2012.

Haswell (HSW) is Intel's microarchitecture based on the 22 nm process for mobile, desktops, and servers. Haswell, which was introduced in 2013, became the successor to Ivy Bridge.

Would this be able to be overcome by the developers? Thy pulled a lot of miracles so I’m always hopeful.

I want to thank

Mykola and the team for implementing legacy wifi for the Mac Pro 5,1

Cheers!

Note: I noticed that the right side of the menu bar only shows the search icon and nothing else unless I open an app like CCC which then shows the CCC icon... This happaned after the patch..
I used oclp v0.5.4 beta
If it's not too much trouble, could you check Console or /Library/Logs/DiagnosticReports (possibly in your user library too) for a ControlCenter crash report? Neither Mykola nor EduCovas* were able to reproduce this issue.

*guy who developed the majority of the legacy wifi patch (and a significant portion of recent non-Metal and legacy Metal research). Thought he deserves a mention since he's not too active on Discord/forums but is a spectacular dev!

if I can ... on my iMac 2011 after switching on, during the restart, when I have to enter the password I can see the date, time and wifi icon in the upper right corner, then after entering the password and subsequent login only all the icons of the "control center modules" are not displayed... ok the modules present in the "other modules" and "menu bar only" items (spotlight, Time Machine, siri...)

Chrome browser launch so slow with Ventura 13.1 with OCLP 0.5.4n (Late 2015 iMac)

Is there a fix for that ? Why it happens ? All chromium based browsers like that.

It’s a known issue with this GPU:
I don’t know if we can hope a fix …
We use patched drivers, there are probably some compatibility issues.
I have another problem with VMware fusion and windows tools.
For the moment, I am not confident to fully migrate to Ventura with oclp due to this small glitches.

For me it is Thunderbird, which is longer to launch than in Monterey, Chrome is OK.

Thank you, but this doesn't seem to be related to ControlCenter. Could you check your user Library (press command+shift+period to show hidden files, then look inside /Users/your_name/Library/Logs/DiagnosticReports) and/or the Console app for one that mentions ControlCenter in the name?

If you can't find one, could you try log show -last boot -predicate 'process contains "ControlCenter"' in Terminal?

Thanks!

Experiencing a strange issue with my 27 inch iMac 17,1. I was on the previous version of OCLP with Ventura 13.1 installed. I upgraded OCLP to 0.5.3 and rebooted with no issues. Then I figured I’d upgrade the Post install root patches. After rebooting my login screen was off color, mouse and keyboard took a while to connect and lastly when I login it hangs there with the login wheel spinning. Safe mode only resolved the off color login screen and I cant get past the login screen there either. Any ideas?

I seem to be having strange hibernation/sleep issues with OCLP 0.5.3 and Ventura 13.1 on a 15inch 2012 MBP A1286

The machine will wake from sleep and hibernation if attached to a power supply, but if not connected to a power supply it will wake from sleep but will not wake from hibernation until it is connected to a power supply ….

The machine is stock except for a MX500 SSD and the WiFi card has been upgraded to a BCM943602CS

Same on my MBP 11,3 on Ventura 13.1 with a fresh install and FileVault enabled. After hibernation the MacBook does not wake up on lid open, when pressing the power button the empty battery icon is shown. Quickly connecting the power supply let’s the MBP boot again. After which you can disconnect the power supply again. Really strange.

What is your problem with Fusion? Win11 fusion 13 client run absolutely fine with 13,2beta1 and oclp 0.53 on my MBA 7,2.

This is not proven result but when building oclp in settings, misc settings turn off NVMe power management and build and install see if it works made a difference on my 2014.

Thank you, this seems to have fixed the issue on my 2014 MBP 11,3 at least when trying it out with hibernatemode 25 to force hibernation. I will default back to the stock hibernatemode 3 and report back tomorrow. To expand further on this, I have the stock 500gb 2x lanes PCIe 2.0 AHCI SSD. Maybe the additional NVMe Power Management is incompatible with the stock configuration...

Edit:
I spoke too soon, the MBP still can not wake up from hibernation with NVMe Power Management disabled...

after installing VMware tools in the guest win11 system, you only get a black window and can’t use windows anymore.
Your MacBook has an Intel GPU, my imac has an amd R390 one, and it makes the difference (I need to use oclp patched video drivers that are probably not 100% compatible with Ventura)
