Another Ventura exercise on MBP5,2 mid 2009:

Starting with 13.0 on an external SSD. Using latest OCLP 0.5.4n (last commit regarding comments for UHCI/OHCI) for EFI and root patching. Monterey, just updated OTA to 12.6.3, remains on internal SSD.
OTA update to 13.1 went fine. Applied root patches, fine. WIFI working!
OTA update to 13.2 beta went fine. Same with root patches.
KDK handling (load, install/merge) worked well.
Tried also the Rapid Security Response 13.2 (a), known result: message that update preparation failed. According to khronokernel's comment cited earlier, no use to try further.

Also played a bit with the UHCI/OHCI in the hope to get internal USB 1.1 devices to work, esp. keyboard/trackpad, but no success. Looked at/modified resources/build/misc.py lines 196-205.

Despite that, Ventura on that machine is good enough e.g. to type this post. Thank you OCLP developers, looking forward to more testing.

On MBP11,1 end 2013:
13.1 installed from USB installer on external SSD, using OCLP 0.5.3 release. All fine. SSD was prepared as a CCC data clone of the internal SSD.
Big Sur (the last Apple supported system on this machine) remains on internal drive for now.

On MBP16,1 2019:
Ventura supported by Apple. Using 13.1 on internal SSD, and 13.2 including RSR 13.2 (a) on external SSD.

Booting 3 system with OC 0.8.6 Duet
What does “duet” mean in this context?

do you mean that you’re using opencore and OCLP together, or is there a special program that’s been written called “duet“???

If there is, in fact, a program called “duet “, could you please post a link to that program or explain more about it?

I think Duet is UEFI on top of BIOS for PCs that don't have EFI.

It might also be useful for old Macs that only have 32-bit EFI but I think in that case people use a 32-bit EFI boot loader that adds a 64 bit interface for the OS? I have not tried either. I think the latter is used to install El Capitan on a MacPro1,1 or MacPro2,1?

13.2 / oclp 0.5.4n
I got my MBP 6,1 2010 with working wifi/Blue Tooth and a second monitor.. Just need the Accelerator patch for the GPU.
Can't wait!
Where are you getting OCLP 0.5.4n from? I can only see OCLP 0.5.3 available for download. Also did you have any issue installing 13.2 on your CMP 5,1? I tried installing 13.2 on mine and it hangs.

Hello,

my system is still on 13.0.1. Now I want to do the update. why is this so big Does he load the whole system again?

I uninstalled the root patch because I was not offered an update for the whole time. Even after the root patch was uninstalled, no update was offered to me. Installed root patch again and suddenly an update was detected. However, only with 12GB. I've done it now and everything is working again.

Has anyone been able to use their iPhone as a camera in FaceTime? I wanted to test this future. FaceTime recognizes my camera from the iPhone. However, the picture remains black.

I also installed Camo and now I can use my camera via FaceTime. The developers may be able to make the whole thing work without the app. I'm happy that these developers exist.

13.2 installs and works awesome on a CMP 5,1 except blutooth and a MenuBar issue. I don't use bluetooth and there is a temp fix for the menubar issue.
I'm sorry but can't help you with OCLP 0.5.4n.. We have been told to not give it out.. You will have to search for it.

I upgraded my cMP5,1 to Ventura 13.1 remotely using chrome remote desktop (updated OCLP 0.5.3 - GUI) before upgrading) and it booted fine, problem now is that VNC won't connect, it tells me version is incompatible, chrome remote desktop is not coming up, neither is team viewer. I even tried NoMachine but it hangs and closes. I'm sure I need to run the post install and possibly fix some permissions, but right now only way to connect to my Mac Pro is via SSH... Any possibility that I could install TUI OCLP and patch (run post install) via SSH? It's the only way I can connect to my Mac remotely, and last TUI version was 0.4.6 (unless the GUI has the TUI also)

* I upgraded my video to Radeon RX580 and my WiFi/BT to BCM94360CD...

Is anyone experiencing any bug with Copy-Paste?
When pasting anything on any app that app just crashes. Happen with very app. Text, copy files between folders, everything, as soon as Cmd past is pressed, crashes. But only happens doing the keyboard shortcut, if I do Edit - Copy - Edit-paste no crash. This only happens on the patched machine with RC2. On the previous versions, no such problem.
I am having the same issue and haven't had much success with finding any resolutions for that. How about you?

So I got to the remote location, finally, and what seems to be happening is that video card is not booting up, I have no screen (blank screen)

Any way to boot in safe mode from OC? I have a MacBook Pro I can plug the boot drive and make any changes if needed...

Any recommendations for a new video card compatible with Ventura?

You may want to see this... https://github.com/dortania/OpenCore-Legacy-Patcher/issues/1019. The advice is to hold off installing the Update until further notice.
I was so close to going to the Apple Store Genius Bar in order to completely reinstall a working OSX on my mid-2015 iMac that crashed and became unresponsive having had a working OSX 13.1 Ventura using OCLP 0.5.2 UNTIL I installed the Rapid Security Response Update.

My solution was to wipe the iMac HD and reinstall Ventura 13.1 using OCLP 0.5.3 and reinstall my files/applications from a Time Machine backup at the time I ran OSX Monterey ... as even internet recovery would not restore the OSX...only the OCLP/Ventura thumb drive restored the iMac after wiping everything from the internal HD...(note Disk First Aid identified no problems prior to my really draconian solution.

I now have Ventura 13.1 running with OCLP 0.5.3 but that is as far as my updating OSX I will go until the Rapid Security Response incompatibility is fixed....for those using OCLP to run Ventura. Thanks

Sorry if this is an obvious question, but I see folks here installing Ventura on to their 2010 MacPro 5,1's - it was my understanding that was possible due to the chip not supporting the AVX2.0 instruction set - how are folks doing this? Currently I'm on Monterey 12.6.2 via OCLP and using a Vega 56 (also listed as unsupported) - happy to wait to see if we get full support but am just confused how some people are managing it....
