I had an Early 2013 15-inch MBP which is essentially the same architecture as the 2012 models and I used an adapter similar to this adapter pictured below

and I purchased an SSD similar to the one pictured below with no issue

Personally, I avoid OWC RAM because I feel you are overpaying for a product that is not as fast as others that are out there. I have always used Samsung drives in my laptops. Never had any issue using these storage drives.

Since the 2012 and Early 2013 MacBook Pros use Sata III instead of NVMe M.2, this was the way to go for me. There are more limitations when having to use SATA III as opposed to NVMe M.2 but there are still better solutions other than having to use OWC in my opinion.

Anyway . . . . let's get back on topic . . . .
I’m using this adapter on my 11,4 2015 MacBook Pro 15.4”….however, I first tried using a Crucial P3 SSD and the drive was not recognized. I returned that and got an Intel 670 SSD and it has been working flawlessly. Total out of pocket $78 for 1TB and adapter.

Trick to reactivate Control Center and related icons after WiFi Patch

I accidentally found a temporary solution to resolve Control Center after Wifi Patch on my iMac12.2 (27-inch, Mid 2011). The solution is to launch the Control Center from another path via Terminal

The Control Center app is located at "/System/Library/CoreServices/ControlCenter.app"
Copy the app to another place (in my case I put it on my desktop)
Right-click, then "Show Package Content". Then "Contents/MacOS/" and run the file "ControlCenter"

The window that opens from the Terminal CANNOT be closed, otherwise you will have to do the process again
Another trick I've just noticed is to to add -disable_sidecar_mac as a boot-args - this restores the control centre - no other workaround required. I'm Running a 12,2 - M5100 with stock Atheros wifi & BT

Is there any solution for CPU Power Management on MacPro6,1?

Hey guys quick question. I've downloaded SilentKnight to keep in touch with my mac's health and security status, etc.

On my late 2015 iMac everything is green except file vault which I don't use, so it's off. On my late 2013 13" MBP with Ventrua 13.1 and OpenCore 0.5.3 SIP and SSV have read X's by them. Is there a way to fix this so they report green and enabled like my natively supported mac under Monterey, or is this a shortcoming of Opencore? Thanks for any help and feedback.

Not a shortcoming. It is a necessary feature of OpenCore that SIP and SSV are not in standard (most secure) settings and SilentKnight correctly shows that. Put another way, OpenCore is a hack of macOS and SilentKnight is detecting that.

OK, not a problem I just wanted to make sure i didn't need to adjust settings for things to work as expected. I know that opencore has SIP settings that can be turned on or off. Is there a reason to change anything from the defaults? For example Apple internal and other settings are off by default. While I am not sure what those settings apply to currently, I thought it would be a good idea to ask, if I needed to tun them on, or if leaving them at defaults was fine.

Thanks again.

Decided to install Ventura on my 2015 11,4 and all went well. However, at the end of the set up it never asked if I wanted to boot from the SSD…I rebooted and need the USB start up to boot into Ventura. I checked “boot from NVME” in OCLP and that didn’t help either. Any suggestions?

Never mind I figured it out

The developer(s) of OCLP turn off or on the switches for SIP as required by the OCLP software in order to keep the system working. Unless you really know what you are doing, it is best to use the default SIP settings for the system you are installing it on. For example, on an iMac late 2014, SIP is completely enabled running Monterey and OCLP 0.4.11, but three SIP settings are turned off running 0.5.3 (Monterey, no root patches, and Ventura, lots of root patches). That SIP aspect can be ignored I think, unless something is obviously not working right.

Thank you. I just wanted to double check without having to dig a lot in to documentation if I could help it.

First off - Happy new year everyone

Just an update - been a while since I've posted here - so this is my hardware that is running various versions of MacOS via OCLP

MacBook Pro M2 (With Touch Bar) Yes - I did buy one of these lol - Ventura native
MacBook Pro 2012 - 9,2 - Ventura 13.1 with latest OCLP 5.4 - no issues so far
Picked up a iMac 2009 21.5 inch - Ventura - haha no - Monterey however seems to run fine on this.
MacPro 5,1 - with HD7950 Metal GPU - still running Monterey perfectly fine - waiting on further news for Ventura (maybe never possible)

So everything seems to be running fine. keep up the good work OCLP dev's

Your post reminds me how I became a Mac user and now our office might be switching from Windows to Mac. Our IT guy heeded my advice and updated his 2014 personal MacBook Pro and was amazed how well it worked on our office program. This started when I found an old 2009 MBP that my wife was given to her by her old company….I learned about installing OCLP patches and was happy to get to Mojave, then Catalina and finally I’m on Big Sur. However, we use “HCL notes” and work and it’s rarely compatible on Windows working remotely. I would reboot Notes twice a day. I wanted the larger screen to use as my permanent computer and the 2009 MBP 13” didn’t quite cut it. So I bought a used 2015 11,4 15.4” for $185..upgraded the SSD and installed and updated Monterrey. I never had to reboot Notes yet and it’s so much faster and that screen…nice! So last night I was already bored with my new Mac and decided to update to 13.1….
Wow, so far using it for several hours it seems to run faster and more smoothly!

I just wanted to thank the developers and people putting in the time and effort and what you do. I’m now putting this on other Macs that people were ready to toss in the trash or move to a cheap windows computer. Thank you again…

Good morning all, I want to find out if Google Chrome, and all chrome based browsers still have the slow loading problem on Ventura with AMD graphics. It seems to work fine on my late 2013 MBP 13" with iris graphics. OCLP 0.5.3, and Ventura 13.1.
The question is mainly for the late 2015, 27" iMac. I would be installing Ventura 13.1 with OCLP 0.5.3. This is the machine that had the issue when I first tested a couple months back. Aside from that, Everything worked as expected. Because of those issues though, I put the iMac back on Monterey as it's the last natively supported version for this mac. Anyway, if anyone could please confirm if Chrome works as expected now, would appreciate it.

Side note, I primarily use Firefox, or Safari, but have chrome based stuff installed for testing.

Installed Ventura (uograde) but booting takes up to 5 minutes, on a late 2103 mac. Bluetooth is set to off after each restart. Which also takes about 5 minutes to start working. Anyone with the same problem or a solution for me?

This issue was still here last week, I suspect it's still here today ...
And there are also some graphic drivers issues with VMWare fusion 13 on this iMac

OK, good to know. When I tried Ventura the first time, I didn't see anything particularly worth having over Monterey for my personal needs. It's just nice to be able to have the latest. In this case though, it looks like waiting won't be a bad idea either until things are more perfected. I'm hoping by the time it will really matter, Apple will have a 27" Apple Silicon iMac. I'd much rather not have to use opencore to run the latest os. So we'll see. Linux is also still looking like a good alternative at some point, and it would do about 95% of what macOS does. I'm glad I will have some time left with Monterey updates before I lose total support.
