Is there a necessity for this sort of functionality on your end? (unfortunately if you do need that functionality working the third party solutions available may not be an exact match for what you need; you may be able to use the list here to find a package that should suit you..)
Thanks for the reply with a list of options.
I was generally curious as to what Stage Manager might do for my workflow. I usually do not have a lot of windows open. TotalSpaces was my go to app but it does not work in Ventura.

Its another huge bummer how Apple made it so you cannot rename desktops with Mission Control. I had heard of a free app called CurrentKey Stats that would take Mission Control to a whole new level with renaming desktops; combining applescripts etc, but these days it is nearly impossible to locate this unicorn app. It was removed from the appstore because it was so damn good! LOL. If anyone uses Mission Control and has access to CurrentKey Stats please sure a working link to download.

Thank you All:)

On Big Sur, whether my laptop was sleeping or standby, all I had to do was open the lid to get it to wake up. On Sonoma (went straight to it), I now have to press the power button in order to get it out of hibernation, and it also shows the apple logo, which it didn't used to do before. Did Apple change wakeup behavior from standby (hibernation) or is this an OCLP thing?

Do you mean Ventura since you are in this thread? My Ventura OCLP MacBook Pro wakes when opening the lid. And if you mean Sonoma this is the thread: https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/macos-14-sonoma-on-unsupported-macs-thread.2391630/

Oh oops I was redirected to this thread when I posted a thread about OCLP in general, so I figured this is for all of it. It's important to note that the standby delay stock is a day on high battery power, so you would only see this after not touching it for a day and it has to restore your session from disk instead of from RAM.

The developer pulled it from distribution. https://spencerdailey.com/2021/08/1...-app-currentkey-stats-from-the-mac-app-store/

Hey all, I have a 2014 MBP Retina running Big Sur (11.7.10) with 2.8Ghz i7, 16GB ram, 1tb pcie and Intel Iris/Nvidia GT750m graphics. I have multiple TM backups.

Perfectly happy with how the system runs, however I have a couple of questions

1. Which is the most stable OS to upgrade to for my machie, I kinda assumed Ventura.
2. On the first page it states that it's a fresh install, and there's no way to bring my files back via TM. But then having read through a whole bunch of pages here it seems some people have been able to "upgrade" without doing a fresh install.
3. Anyone had any issues with the MBP and upgrades? I'm not the most tech savvy so would be a bit lost if something went wrong.

1. I‘d lean towards Ventura if you’re looking for the most stability, Sonoma may be worth a shot if you need some newer features.
2. MacOS separates out the data layer from the system files (which is why people can do this and not lose data; I have upgraded and reinstalled on top of existing system data and been OK)
3. As long as you are aware of any known unresolved issues with your system you should be OK (there may never be fixes for some of these..)

When I shut down my mid-2012 MacBook Pro running macOS Ventura 13.6.7 with OCLP while it's charging, the MagSafe light turns green, indicating it's fully charged. However, when the device boots up, it shows the battery as low, but after a short while, the battery appears to be full again. What could be the issue

Anyone else having an AirPods issue where audio progressively stutters more and more? Not sure if this is an OCLP bluetooth bug or a MacOS issue.

Hello everyone. I'll preface this by saying that various commitments keep me away from the Mac and my question may already exist.
I would like, kindly, to know if I could have some advantage, small or big, installing a Nightly Build of OCLP developed for Sequoia (e.g.: the 1.6.2 Nightly), also with macOS Ventura 14.5 and OCLP 1.6.0 Nightly which already runs fine in my 27'' 14,2 iMac, late 2013.
Although it wouldn't improve anything, the important thing is that it wouldn't cause any conflict and I would do it just to be up to date.
Unfortunately, in fact, I suffer from... acute nerditis o_O :)
Thanks

Currently I am running Monterey on my Mac Pro 5,1 with OCLP and it's very stable and reliable.
I consider to upgrade to Ventura because in november Office 365 is no more supported in Monterey.
I have watched several video's on YouTube but they are all nearly one year old and perhaps things have improved.
a) I have an old keyboard and mouse from 2006, do I still need an USB hub?
b) Is the system compatible now with a PCI USB 3 card installed?
c) I have a Radeon 580 Pulse graphics card without bootscreen, I understand that it need root patches to update the drivers. Will graphics acceleration be as good as in Monterey?
d) I heard a year ago that the computer sometimes crashed with screen savers. Is this problem solved?
e) I will only use the Mac Pro for office work, Photo editing and Handbrake. Perhaps in this way I can avoid problems?
Any of your advice will be much appreciated.
TIA

Hello ! I have the latest version of Mac OS Ventura patched with OpenCore 0.68 on an iMac 27 "late 2013 which I mainly use to browse the Internet. Would the latest version of OpenCore 1.5.0 bring significant improvements compared to my current configuration which works quite well ?
Thank you for your answers

what one version of OCLP after another, sometimes it's just compatibility for a newer system, there's not always a new driver upgrade, if there's nothing new at this point, it won't bring any improvement, I suggest watching some hackintosh videos so you can learn how to update your kexts that are in the hidden EFI partition, and not be dependent on an application that often goes 2 or more months without updating. Every month we have OpenCore updates (remember that OpenCore is not a patcher, OpenCore Legacy Patcher is an application, OpenCore is something else).

I tried something similar before, but ended up going back to version 0.6.8.

While the distinction between OpenCore and OpenCore Legacy Patcher may be somewhat clear to me, although I may be wrong, I don't think the original question from nicolleta was speaking to this distinction, and may end up being confusing - especially the recommendation to view hackintosh videos. Nicoletta, correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe that your original question was simply about any purported advantages to running the new OCLP 1.5.0.

As a BTW, I recently went to the 1.5.0 from the 1.4.2 on the iMac 10,1 and at least not yet seeing any significant difference.

I can confirm that on a Mac Pro 5,1 it's not worth to install Ventura or Sonoma, even with OCLP 1.5. With 3D-applications there are problems with graphics performance and the Mac is not stable. Cinebench OSX and R15 don't run in Sonoma, they did in Monterey. The computer also boots slower and there are problems with the Wifi connection even after I forgot the network. Apps that require AVX/AVX2 have issues. Don't waste your time.

Whether you like it or not, an incompatible Mac running via Patcher is now much closer than a PC running macOS, which is why the tip about kexts and how to update seems like a mistake, but it isn't.

Hi @nicoletta! I have the same 27" 14,2 iMac as you (late 2013) with Intel i7 CPU, nVidia GeForce GTX780M 4 GB VRAM, and (important...) I mounted an SSD in place of the mechanical HD on the Fusion Drive that I eliminated; so now I have two internal SSDs on one of which I have Catalina in case of a Sonoma crash, although it never happened. (See my signature).
The iMac runs wonderfully well with macOS Sonoma 14.5 and OCLP 1.6.0 Nightly; a hundred thousand times better than Catalina!
I am now waiting for confirmation in this Forum, in Discord and on the OCLP site that we can install macOS 14.6, which was just released, without risking problems.

Upgraded my MBP6,2 from Ventura 13.6.7 -> 13.6.8 via OTA without issues. Still applying Ventura post-install patches with OCLP 0.6.8 while booting with an Open Core EFI generated with OCLP 1.5.0 (actually a hybrid 1.5.0 / 1.6.0 version that allows me to boot Sequoia). I realize that my patching strategy is different from most others, but it still works for me.
