What model is your MOTU interface? They usually support interfaces that are quite old. I have an Ultralite that connects with Firewire, and it still works in Sonoma.
It depends on the device.

updated my MacBook Pro 11,3 mid 2014 on Ventura 13.6.9 with Intel GPU And Nvidia GT750M to OCLP 2.0.0 Nightly.
the first impression that everything is fine and stable , until I found out that video playback is broken system-wide .
any video you play in different browsers and websites , vlc , quicktime , result in green unwatchable screen.
Reverting to official 1.5.0 fixed the problem.
I hope in the next releases of OCLP V2 it will fix the broken video playback.

OCLP version: 1.5.0
macOS version: 13.6.9

Installed Ventura on a Mid 2010 imac 27 originally on High Sierra. All Went well except the photos app won't enlarge photos when selected from the thumbnails. The photo is there but just not viewable enlarged, blank.

Also, on the High Sierra version of Safari. Netflix, Prime video and other streaming sites wouldn't work anymore due to the browser support ending. The same thing is happening In Ventura Safari (fully Updated).

Any ideas on how to remedy these issues?

Did a quick search and it appears that this issue may be due to a lack of Metal support (you can view the raw files directly so not a massive loss there..)

Known issue, more so with your non-Metal hardware not supported by DRM (you’ll have to use a third party browser or upgrade the dGPU; there is no way around this)

Absolutely. In my case it was a Catalina installation with the dosdude1 patcher.

Since a clean installation of Monterey (in combination with Migration Assistant) failed at that time, I also did this upgrade via Software Update in combination with OCLP. I removed all the customizations of the dosdude1 patcher for Catalina afterwards.

Whether this is always a good idea, I do not know. I report here only from my personal experience ...
so you was on a dosdude1 installation and you updated with OCLP?
I'm in the same situation and I would like to know if it's possible

Some years ago I installed mojave on a late 2011 macbook pro with "dosdude mojave" and now I want to upgrade to Monterey or beyond.

I've successfully installed Ventura on my MacBook Pro 13" 11,1 and it runs well.

I wanted to do the same for a friend's MacBook Pro 15" 9,1 with the nVidia 650GT so I upgraded the ram to 2 x 4 GB and installed a 480 GB SSD. I installed the latest release of Catalina and firmware is 429.0.0.0.

Using OCLP 1.5 and 2.01, I install the root patches reboot, select the EFI partition, and it boots to the Catalina desktop. I created Big Sur, Monterey, and Ventura installers using OCLP 1.5 and 2.01. Any attempts to install any newer OS from a USB installer or from the Applications folder always results in a message to say the OS cannot be installed to the SSD.

I create a USB installer for Big Sure, Monterey, and Ventura, and install root patches for the 9,1 to the flash drive and the flash drive never appears as a boot option after restarting the MacBook.

I read through the OCLP installation guide and didn't see any special steps I needed to take for the 9,1.

I've tried two 2 different SSDs, the original spinning drive, and 3 different flash drives and no luck with any of them.

Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

EDIT: tried a 4 and very old Kingston 16 GB flash key and this seems to have solved the problem of not being able to select a USB installer when holding down the option key.

First time, just appeared out of nowhere. Anyone see this before? What's this about? Opens immediately with Process ID Terminated, although there are others to select. Closed, didn't appear to have any effect.

Hi everyone! I installed Ventura 13.7 on my Macbook Pro mid 2009 13" 5,5 with OCLP 2.0.1, and it works pretty well (I'm not sure to update to Sequoia, as Ventura works pretty well), but I can't use airplay, the icon doesn't show on quicktime, and I don't see any mirroring option on the "screen mirroring". Am I missing something? Thanks in advance if you have any advice!

Can't be sure, but don't think BitDefender (as part of Firefox extension TrafficLight) was directly involved since Firefox wasn't open. Was very involved with something else unrelated when this happened. Maybe saw that it was flagged by BitDefender when I did a search for the URL

github-production-user-asset-6210df.s3.amazonasws.com.

Next, after that, went to VirusTotal, where now, on reanalyzing, it's up to 9 reporting malicious or phishing.

I found that internal bt doesn't work. If I go in system infos I can see the bluetooth as a third_party_dongle , but obv it's the internal brcm2046 . I read somewhere that changing port of the periferic will be solve the problem, but.. how can I do that? Thank you in advance!

[Boot-Problem - after OCLP-Update 2.0 / 2.0.1] "support.apple.com/mac/startup/"

Ventura is installed with OpenCore Legacy Patcher and worked perfectly. I updated the Software to 2.0 or 2.0.1 and days later I want to use my Mac and got this message "support.apple.com/mac/startup/"

Two SSD's are installed. Both of them are 1TB-Versions..

- I have access to the Boot-Menu-Picker it shows me EFI-Boot (OCLP) but its show me the slogan "support.apple.com/mac/startup/ and reboots

- In the Boot-Picker its also showing me a disk "MacOS" its grey and when I boot it I'll get the same "support.apple..."

- When I use Control and open EFI-Boot it create a instant reboot

- When I boot from a OCLP-Ventura-Created-Stick by an other Macbook Pro (8.1) same issue like discribed already / it will show me the same message

any chance to get my datas from the SSD? I have a working Macbook Pro 8.1 here can I use a SATA-USB-Connector for safe files from or do you have any other Idea or a work-around to get back into the System? Dont know what is wrong or damaged.. need help :-( I'm new into this..

Thanks alot

Reboot while holding down Option key. Once in Boot Picker, select either EFI Boot or a hardware supported macOS boot volume, if you have one. If you select EFI Boot, the next screen will be OpenCore Picker. Select your the OpenCore installed macOS system.

I would try booting from native, supported macOS first to rule out hardware issues. If you can successfully boot supported macOS, shutdown and try the EFI Boot > OpenCore Picker > OpenCore macOS.

Not familiar with your MBP, so a wild guess... if you've upgraded your Wi-Fi/Bluetooth (so it's not the original), you may benefit from changes made in OCLP 2.0.2. You'll need to install OCLP 2.0.2, Build and Install Open Core and apply OCLP 2.0.2 post-install patches.

I use a MacBook Pro 15" 9,1 as my main computer still, great machine, and you can upgrade it up to 16Gb RAM, works flawlessly, recommended.

As for the OCLP, I'm on v1.5 with Ventura, and don't plan to change anytime soon, very stable and smooth. I've tried Sonoma, but it wasn't as snappy. I don't recommend OCLP 2+ yet, it's in active devolpment and focused on Sequoia.

I also dual boot with the official Catalina installation, for fail safe reasons.

Keep trying installing it, it's worth it. You have to select the EFI boot option first then the install drive. On my system, don't know why but the first time it booted into Catalina recovery and asked to login, but after that Ventura installation proceed normally.

If anything fails you can always return to Catalina and run OCLP from there to rebuild the EFI partion.

I hope this helps!
