Smoothly OTA updated from Monterey to Ventura RC2.

Question to the more experienced:

Can I still keep reliable Time Machine backups on this Ventura root patched volume?

Thank you.
The idea of this (public) beta is to collect such experience, so please backup, restore and report back! Same applies to the wide variety of the common applications.
(TM restores on root patched volumes are apparently broken from all what I have seen on Discord during the last weeks, even on BS and MT).

Hi Guys i Hop e someone can help. I installed Ventura on my Macmini late 2012 and everything work like a charme but Spotlight and Finder Swatch doesn’t.

I even made a clean install formatting my ssd and reistalling everything, even if then i take back my data from my time machine backup, but nothing… Spotlight and Finder search still doesn’t work.
As soon as i try to write one letter they freeze and doesn’t respond.

I tried to force Spotlight to reindex from Terminal, but even there it freeze!

I tried to acces Spotlight Privacy panel… but it freeze!

I can’t understand what’s the problem.

I begun having this problem since when i installed (upon the previous macOs version) OCLP jumping from a version to another version, without installing first the intermediate…

Does sombody know how can i fix these problems, without to have not to use time machine?

thanks

Is anyone experiencing any bug with Copy-Paste?
When pasting anything on any app that app just crashes. Happen with very app. Text, copy files between folders, everything, as soon as Cmd past is pressed, crashes. But only happens doing the keyboard shortcut, if I do Edit - Copy - Edit-paste no crash. This only happens on the patched machine with RC2. On the previous versions, no such problem.
Nope. Works perfectly here, build 22A380.

Bonjour,

Installation on iMac 16,1, no blocking problems, boot is slower with OpenCore, even when the system was still under Monterey (2 or 3mn more I think).

Have a nice day. ;)

Edit: the system is on a SSD OCZ Agility 3 at last firmware.

Hello. I have a MacbookPro11,3 with the latest versions of Ventura Beta and OpenCore patcher and everything is working like a charm. Likewise, the installation went well beyond my expectations, as now I didn't even needed to root patch in safe mode to make it work. The only bug I've found so far: if I reboot the computer connected to my peripherals (monitor Cinema Display, usb hub w/ ethernet and hard drive), the computer boots in what appears to be Safe mode, but without the keyboard working. If I reboot with the computer disconnected from the peripherals, everything goes smoothly.

Congratulations to @khronokernel and rest of the team! Is there any way to make a donation to the persons that made the patcher possible?

There was a plea for SSDs, awhile back on Discord. Has a SMC reset and a 3-bong NVRAM flush been done since OCLP was installed?

More info needed. What is last frame? Does it boot or doesn't? OCLP picker menu is displayed? Apple logo and progress bar? Please add more info.

Hello, oh “valent” @ivofonseca ! :)
In this regard I can tell you that I was able to make a PayPal donation to @Ausdauersportler , following the link inserted in his Profile; and I found an intelligent friend.

The big @khronokernel , on the other hand, told me that he preferred that I make a donation to research bodies on Chron's disease and I adapted accordingly.
If I had had his PayPal address, I would have also sent him a little financial help; however I helped him when he asked the Forum for support to go to the WWDC and in this circumstance I followed the channel that Mykola Grymalyuk (Khronokernel) had indicated on Twitter to send it money.
I would also like to help the fantastic @ASentientBot to whom we all owe a lot especially for research, commitment and solutions regarding graphics and I think I will do it as soon as possible. Idem for others Developer.
You can looks in their Profiles, even on GitHub or LinkedIn

I have encountered a similar problem with the latest Monterey’s versions. I had also awakenings from Sleep.

With patience, I tried removing the peripherals one at a time and restarting. So I discovered that the problem disappears simply by disconnecting one or both of the external hard drives that I use for generic storage (HDD 7.200rpm 3.5” and USB 3 cases) and that are formatted in JHFS+ mode. Will it depend on the File System or on the hardware of the cases? I can't know for sure [See my *Important Note]
The fact is that now I connect the disks only when needed; then I detach them.
This way everything works fine: the Mac regularly goes into sleep mode and doesn't wake up and the problems at boot (no Apple USB keyboard with number keys, no Magic Trackpad and Magic Mouse) are gone.

*Important Note.
I have a third HDD that is the same as the others mentioned above and I use it for Time Machine; but this HD is formatted in APFS which is case sensitive and encrypted, just like Monterey set it up automatically.
This disk doesn’t causes issues!…
So I assume that the problem, at least in my case, lies with the JHFS+ disks
Is this a Monterey bug?… Boh…
[EDIT]
It could depend on the latest Firmware versions introduced by Catalina updates! Now that I think about it, in fact, the problems I described at Boot, if an external JHFS+ disks are connected, also occurs if I remove the OCLP Efi and use Catalina of the second internal SSD of my iMac.

I hope I have provided you with help or direction to understand and resolve your problems as well
