How are you creating the USB? Within the OCLP app?
I usually do it without the app with
sudo /Applications/Install macOS Ventura.app/Contents/Resources/createinstallmedia —volume /Volumes/USB
Change USB by the name of your target volumen.
Note: —volume has 2 - - but they are displayed as one.

Double success! Absolutely crazy that OCLP is in such a good state on day one!! I had one weird occurrence with the installer all of a sudden not finding the system disk (mid-install, during one of the reboots) on the 2012 MBA, but I just quit and rebooted and 2nd time was the charm. The SSD is one of the weird 128GB ones with a sandforce controller that got partially recalled, maybe it's related.

Otherwise.. I mean installing new firmware on my TV this weekend was infinitely harder than this. The tool just takes care of everything in such an automated and reassuring fashion. Love it! Big props to the devs! Patreon this thing!

That's what I did, never had a problem before.
There was a problem with the first download. Now I can create a USB installation disk normally.

Can anyone with a Late 2012 27" iMac ( iMac 13,2 ) confirm that they have Ventura running via the RC build or later and the 0.5.0 OCLP? I have a patched Ventura 13.0 USB stick good to go, but I'm reluctant to pull the pin for some reason. 😁
And can you review at least 5-10 last pages of the topic? Here you'll find some examples you're looking for.

When it comes to Ventura, has anyone installed it on a MacBookPro with a third-party SSD installed?

I have a 2015 15" MacBook Pro (MacBookPro11,5) with a 2TB Sabrent Rocket installed. I'm curious how performance has been like for others who are in a similar situation.
I have a 2015 13" with a 2TB Sabrent and I am only 1 day in but it seems pretty much normal. I get 1300 R/W's which is normal for this 13".

I suspect some time during this week an update will come to the OpenCore Legacy Patcher adding Ventura support? I'm hoping to install it on my 2015 Retina 15" MacBook Pro with Intel graphics this week (MacBookPro11,4).

Successful on late 2012 13" MacBook Pro with OCLP 0.50 nightly.

Was on MacOS 12.6, rebuilt OCLP and rebooted, Ventura showed up in system update and everything went smoothly. Applied post patch after the update to fix the graphics. The new weather app crashes as mentioned in OCLP but so far no other problems I've encountered.

MacOS shows 13.51 GB in Storage panel, not sure about the precise number on Monterey so can't attest the reduced system size on my machine.

Pretty crazy to have almost everything up and running this soon considering how much component isn't support on this machine, major kudos to all the developers and testers, thank you so much!

This was a particularly useless reply, so thanks for that. There have been successful installs of late betas and RCs, I was looking for further feedback given the official release has dropped.

Weather app is not crashing on 2013 iMac with Kepler graphics. Maybe specific to your MBP?

Did you update from software update then applied post patches afterwards? Or did you make a USB installer within OCLP?
Curious cause I have a mid 2012 non retina. Planning to update soon

If I'm already running open core patcher with Monterey on my 2014 mpb (11,2), are the steps to upgrade to Ventura simpler?

From what I understand, I'd have to upgrade my version of open core legacy patcher to 0.5.0, and then download the installer for ventura and create a bootable usb with the createinstallmedia program. Or do I need to also prep the usb with open core?

Edit: Never mind, I just followed the instructions of the post bellow mine and it worked!

8 GB Late 2013 with a 512 GB Samsung 970, 0.5.0 nightly build from this afternoon works great, I have WiFi and everything!

Surprising as I updated from a Monterey 12.5 beta with 0.4.11, I just installed 0.5.0 nightly over it and after a reboot I saw the macOS 13.0 icon in Software Update!

Had to use Post Install patch for Haswell graphics, without patch, display was 'Unknown Display' and was stuck at 2560.

With patch it's 'Built-in Display' and running at a reasonable resolution; I'm posting this with it now!

I'm ready to discuss a question what is useless and what isn't. What chances are if betas and RC's got installed fine, and release version suddenly caused problems?

I already had Monterey 12.5 b1 installed on my Late 2013, I just updated the OCLP to 0.5.0 nightly, rebooted, downloaded the Ventura installer with MDS and stuck it in my Applications folder, then ran it.

You probably could just go to Software Update after you update OCLP and download Ventura that way.

I agree, but given there are always risks with processes such as this, I thought it was a reasonable question to ask. As you'll see, all was good..

FWIW I was a bit reckless in my experiment earlier today as the 2013 iMac I was updating was expendable (it's a third admin station in my office for running ARD to manage computer labs. I mainly use one 2017 iMac for this task but can do overflow if needed with other older stations).

It had OCLP 0.4.11 and Monterey 12.6 running. I first updated to 12.6.1 OTA, and once I confirmed that worked, went ahead and installed Ventura OTA without even updating OCLP.

I only updated OCLP to 0.5.0 because I ran into the expected Kepler graphics issue and 0.4.11 could not address it under Ventura. Once I got the 0.5.0 nightly, I rebuilt the Open Core install, rebooted, ran the patches and rebooted. Done!

ARD works fine, all is good at no extra charge...

How do I get OCLP 0.5.0? On GitHub I can only find up to 0.4.11...

Anybody has internet on MBP11.4 (2015)? It is strange that my Tailscale connects, but nothing else works.
Edit: It looks like Little snitch was blocking it. Not sure if there is Ventura version yet.

However, if I press the Option key when pulling down the Dropbox menu, it displays normally.
There are other blank panes in the Finder Dropbox icon pull downs too. Not sure whether the fault is Dropbox on Ventura or the OCLP 0.5.0 hack. Is anyone else seeing this with Dropbox?

Can anyone HELP. Mac Mini 6,2 (late 2012 mini). Was running 12.6 with OCLP. Updated OCLP to 0.50. Tried to to the Ventura USB upgrade/install.
Myself and a few others seem to be STUCK IN A BOOT LOOP, at what seems to be the end of the USB install/upgrade. We get to the Black Screen w/ Apple Logo and down to about 14 minutes remaining. Then screen goes black. Reboots and at this point or maybe after another reboot goes into a Boot Loop. HELP

Hmm... Despite both my devices showing that they are available, AirDrop doesn't appear to work. Given that it was working fine under 12.6, is there a simple fix for this? iMac on 13.0, and iPhone 11 on 16.1
