I'm on MOnterey 12.6 on a MacPro 2010 5,1 running OCLP 0.4.9 - if I want to update with OCLP 0.5.0 do I need to update trhe install on the EFI partition ? or is it just rerun to update post install patches. I will not try updating to Ventura until its officially in the list but some have reported that legacy wifi works with 0.5.0.

Appreciate the advice.

Partial success here. I have a late 2012 imac with 16Gb RAM and an SSD. I have OCLP 0.5.0 and ran the Venture upgrade. When I ran the Root Patcher it got so far and then halted with "Error 71"

So where did I go wrong, and how do I fix it?

I can confirm on my 2009 iMac upgraded with M5100, AppleTV no longer plays paid content. (The exact same machine booting into Monterey 12.6.1 or earlier, AppleTV can play everything)
Thank you for your kind reply. This is so sad. The only reason I replaced my k2100m with a m5100 was to be able to have appleTV content.
If this is not fixed by patches etc. I don't think I will upgrade to Ventura...

Does anyone get a working AirPlay Receiver?

Got Ventura 22A380 and OCLP 0.5.0 successfully installed on MacBookAir6,1 and Macmini7,1 both around 2014 and Haswell-based. Both used create USB boot media from OCLP Ventura installation.

I use one of them as a network audio player by connection a DAC to it and play through AirPlay from my iPad / iPhone. It worked previously with OCLP 0.4.x and Monterey on my MacBookAir6,1 but now it no longer be detected by any iOS / Mac devices as AirPlay-able output. Ventura System Setting does have the AirPlay configuraiton on General / AirDrop & Handoff page so the feature UI is at least ”enabled” by OCLP.

I tried various setting on both MacBookAir6,1 and Macmini7,1 but with no success. Thought it must be some sort of security underlying but have no clues.

Any advice is sincerely appreciated. :)

Again bravo to OCLP team and every beta testers involved! This magnificent update extends my 2014 Macs for another year of updated OS!

Check your folder /Library/Extensions and move everything out which is older than a year and retry patching….
A lot of users have there old third party extensions left which cause conflicts.

Big thanks to OCLP devs! What a massive effort to workaround the hurdles for Ventura.

Tried it on the 2013 MBA. Nice. Still exploring Ventura, so not sure if there are any big issues.

Love how automated OCLP is now. Root patch is auto (if following OCLP process). Also get the prompt to install EFI to boot disk on post-install.

Ventura working great on an iMac 2011 with upgraded GPU that supports Metal. Big thanks! Unfortunately wifi is not working but I am planning to upgrade my wifi card anyways so that's not an issue.

The Beta 13.1 it’ safe?… Or can it cause some issues?… And has Safari 16.1 been improved?
Thanks
I'd like to answer but have to be very careful. For me and my config it works safe, smooth and excellent, no issues (while and still). Don't know about Safari 16.1 - just because don't use it.

Hello,

On my test iMac 27" mid 2011 with :
- Graphic card WX4130 (Dell)
- WIFI and BT: BCM 94360CD

Installation Ventura is OK
(with last boot in safe mode ;)) , WIFI/BT OK, metal OK. The only thing I noticed , a external display (iiYama ProLite) doesn't working on Thunderbolt port (I try the two ports) . The external display is not view in "informations Système / Thunderbolt/USB4" (System Information) . The Thunderbolt port work because when I connect a Thunderbolt OWC dock, it is view and it work.

I have no problem before with Monterey and Big Sur with the same hardware, the external display is OK .

So... Thank a lot for the devs! iMac 27 2011 (k3100, wifi and bt upgraded) - first time while update from Monterey got a 71 error while root patch, installed os to the second partition and migrate to it - everything fine. MBP 2012 - everything fine. MBA 2020 - ok. But... Screen mirroring and airplay works only iMac+MBA/MBA+iMac, MBP+MBA/MBA+MBP, iMac + MBP not working. What's the ....???? Trying to reenter to iCloud in each one - no effect. Thanks in advance to fix that.

I have a 2015 MacBook Air I’d like to also have running Ventura. That is the laptop I use for work when I actually bring both the laptop and the iPad Pro. bad enough I have to bring a m1 iPad Pro into the chicago loop area, dont want to bring that much expensive equipment to a job and risk having it stolen. Is there a working tool to be able to install Ventura on my 2015 MacBook Air?
