So far, Beta 2 has been as stable as Beta 1 for myself, minus my work's VPN. We use Cisco Secure Client and for some reason, whenever I turn it on, my internet becomes unstable and I am unable to perform normal tasks.

Otherwise, I think the polish added throughout is a step in the right direction. The Safari bold lines under tabs is really distracting and more confusing than before, but I hope it's still considered for additional revamps.

Can't seem to get my iPhone to show in the Finder sidebar on this beta. Tried different "Allow Accessories to Connect" settings on the Mac as well as hitting "Allow" on the iPhone prompt.
Is this unchecked?

Almost impossible to tell if off or on... contrast, or lack of, is so bad.

exactly .. example like this are legion. it's so evident that this level of transparency and widget blending is just detrimental to readability... how is apple not noticing such problems are manifesting everywhere throughout the whole UI, it's beyond me .. best guess they do no use their own products and people in charge have no clues what their ideas end up looking like in real life .. it's like wanting to use transparency, because "transparency is cool" but how do that translate in real life practical case ? they do not know they not see the problem .. which is further confirmation of their inexperienced clueless nature as UI designers.

( i'm guessing this is a new team of unseasonned people being given a set of instructions from executive and are plainly doing what they are told without caring about the result. this cannot be the same people that brought us past macos UI that was so glorious and now this ... being so crappy ....)

white widget with white background, on white window background ...
i thought i wouldn't take a genius at apple to figure it would be hard to see.
but apparently they don't see the problem.
there is so many problem like this throughout the OS everywhere ..

come on people are making fun of it everywhere.. saying it looks like windows vista and reheated poor ideas from a decade ago that were even abandonned by m$windows itself.
it's an embarassement. a major one. it's like someone telling you your house facade will now be painted in flashy pink and you can't say No. and you live there. it's pain.
Yes, Microsoft abandoned Aero in Windows 8. What you might not recall is that Windows 8 was and still is absolute garbage. None of the UI decisions made in that version were good, none at all. Some were half-heartedly reversed and some weren't, but it played a big part in me never looking back after switching to Mac.

to explain myself,
i do not use windows at all, it is very rare for me. maybe once in a few years (plural) i launch a virtual machine to check what happened with the new version of the moment, but that's it. and i'm invariably disgusted by it ;)

beside macos i use mainly linux. (which is also a PITA in its own right for its own stuffs, but at least there's freedom of choice and root is the real boss of the OS, unlike macos unfortunately..)

though, i appreciate the correction for my previous statement and additional details.
so that was win8, not vista. i stand corrected :)
thank you for that.

Aero was introduced in Windows Vista and removed in Windows 8. Windows 7 featured it as well, and that is probably the most successful version of Windows in modern history. It even outlasted 8.

Windows 7 and OS X Snow Leopard are both regarded as fast, stable, and pretty operating systems compared to what came after. That era was good, and taking lessons from what worked in the past and applying them today is a perfectly okay thing to do. I even encourage people to do this.

That being said, Liquid Glass seems a bit unfinished on MacOS in the early betas. I hope the release version will look different.

Tahoe Beta 1 the menu to exclude drives from indexing crashed after the try to disable indexing on Macintosh HD. Have someone tested it under beta 2?

Im pretty sure this is new (otherwise i've used Mac OS for ages and never ever noticed it...) you can now drag and change the size of the dock by placing the cursor in the division area. EDIT.... this is more of a "I was today's years old when i found this out" Sorry

Mail crashes on launch every time. Completely unusable on my Mac now.

This is what we signed up for, but it is annoying.

you've got a blue background with a blue theme selected in system settings appearance...

Yes. The blue background is the default wallpaper and the blue theme is the default one.

so one would expect that, as a minimum, the UI will be legible especially when no customisation was been applied. The design has to be contextual aware and work well in any situation.

sure. and it's beta 2. so (for now, at least), how you deal with this is up to you...

Not me having to use Chrome for the first time ever 😭

The Passwords app is also crashing for me.

Whew. 😂

Ah, you’re not alone. Same thing happened for me
Something weird is under App Store settings, under the file tab in the menu bar, it shows Sandbox Account with my Apple ID next to it. I wonder if Apple forgot to turn off sandbox mode in the App Store for this build or some other kind of bug. Really hope this gets fixed, I would hate to lose all my purchased apps because of a bug. All the recipes are in my account history still, I double-checked that.

Cisco Secure Client is also half-broken for me on Beta 2 but was fine on the first beta. Specifically, it times out connecting to general Internet locations that are outside the scope of the split tunnel. Work-specific connections are fine with the VPN connected and general Internet access is okay when disconnected. I can have either work-specific access or general access, but not both at once. I'll file some feedback.
