Does anyone know how I can clear boot caches? I think my open core install keeps getting muddled up as on boot I can see a phantom Mojave installer that isn't mounted and it boots into a loop if I select it. Can I remove it by clearing boot caches?

This is the kernel panic log that appears when I boot successfully.

EDIT: I just wiped my OpenCore install and redid it. Seems to have done the trick 👍

Hi -
Can anyone verify if the first posted instructions are still valid I download Open core 0.6.7 and the sample config file and installed it on my 2012 Mac Duel Processor 24 GB rams and it felt very sluggish. I have a high point with a single m.2 Samsung 970 Pro 512 GB on it. Big Sur 11.2.3 ran very slow.

Or point me out to a post that has the most updated instructions..
Kindly appreciated

What GPU do you use?

I've read in an opencore-on-macpro facebook group that 11.3 (latest three betas) is troublesome when installed on a 5,1 mac pro. Could this be a sign of things to come? Anyone with a similar experience?

Cheers!

If it is installed on an NVME- yes. It panics prior to initialization of the OS.

Rx580 is supported and should run good.

try a clean native installation to an empty SSD.
@Macschrauber I did do a clean install. I am currently running Mojave on a Sata SSD( this is my fall back / backup OS )

I have seen other people on the web that have custom Plist for Duel processor and another for a single processor.
Does this sample list need to be configured for such or is it already addressed ?

This is covered in Part 2 of the guide. See "Enabling Hardware Acceleration."

The guide has been updated to OpenCore version 0.6.8.

This version of OpenCore is definitely a worthwhile update. It brings many nice improvements to OpenCanopy, like shut down and restart buttons, a set-default indicator, and a much smoother input experience.

The "modern" picker theme has also been updated to match the current native theme of supported Intel machines (this is the theme portrayed in the first image of the guide).

To update, make sure to consult Part 3 of the guide.

Hi all

Just updated to 0.6.8 and the boot picker icons are huge. Am I missing something?

Thanks

Just updated, thanks for all you do CDF. What is the set-default indicator? I normally am not using OpenCanopy, since I use RefindPlus as my primary boot screen... but what is that new feature in OC boot screen?

Awesome guide! Thank you so much!

After OpenCore configuration was able to upgrade from Mojave to Big Sur.
All hardware is working (Including the Broadcom BCM43xx 1.0 - BT and WiFi)
This is my first foray into the world of MAC and honestly it's been pretty fun getting this old girl up to date.
Going to slap some more ram in and start making music in GarageBand!
