Hello,

Can you tell me if i can sort playlists with your app ... if i can i will buy it immediately!!
Thanks
Sort, you mean like Alphabetically and chronologically? Then No, Sorry. A few Sorting related Plans I have (nothing decided)

And, You don't need to buy, it's FREE. Try and Enjoy.

wow - i'll go and try ... and buy something to pay you for your time!

But no, i was told by Apple senior support that playlists in the Music app can only be played alphabetically - useless if you're trying to play an album!

I was thinking sort the playlist by album or artist or rating ...?

Nice Idea, it's already Requested in the Beginning of the Thread. I'll surely Try to implement it.

Actually you know what, I've already Implemented one Playlist - History(Based on Last Played date*). Already Planned more based on Play Count, Rating and more.

*Tip: In Marvis you can change a setting, when to Update Last Played Date. When Song Starts or When it Ends. Really nice little Feature.

Because I manage my library with a combination of playlists and smart playlists organized within nested folders, this is one of my biggest wants.

I have spoken to several developers (including Aditya) and unfortunately it is a limitation imposed by Apple's APIs. There are a few that have managed to do it, but the trade off is that they can't write to/track the play counts or do some other things that are arguably more crucial. Very annoying.

I know I'm changing the subject, but when I see "alphabetically and chronologically" my salivary glands begin to go wild thinking about being able to choose how albums are sorted. So far, only Cesium seems to allow sorting chronologically.

I can't wait for 3.0. Your app has made interacting with my music more rewarding than its been in years.

Edit: I was quietly hoping that History (a unique and valuable
feature) would incorporate other sorting options or that a similar feature would create an elegant workaround for sorting by rating, etc.)

Just so we touched the Topic, I'll tell you it's in works. Shhhh, don't tell anyone yet.

It's going to be more powerful than anyone can Imagine.

Let's not Forget it may Take Time - I'm not a Roman. But I'll try to do it as quickly as possible.

Well, then I'd expect users to do the Marketing / Promotion. Can you do it?
Fine. Fine. Fine.

I just pulled out my Sharpie and am making a cardboard sign out of an old Amazon box. Starting tomorrow I will stand at a local intersection for two hours a day, begging for pocket change (while using your app, of course):

"Bye Marvis Musik app.
Without you're help I can't
sort ablums chronol... by year."

I'll let you know how you're doing your job, soon. Don't forget to Encourage others to join our Crusade. Build an Army, Could you? I believe you could, Marvis gives you the Power. Win the War and Live forever like a Soldier, You'll be remembered for making 'Album Sorting' Possible in Marvis. Enjoy.

Okay I tried Skip when Shuffling. As Expected, it works in iTunes, but not in iOS. I tried one more thing I went to my iPhone's Music List, and turned on Skip when Shuffling for some items. That didn't help as well. I'm sorry, but I can't really think of any workarounds. I'll keep thinking about it, I'll post if there's an Easier way to achieve this.

Update: I tried Skip when Shuffling on iOS 8.3. It's working. Maybe on 8.4 it's disabled by Mistake or because iCloud Music Library is On, the Changes aren't Synced.

If Skip When Shuffling was Supported, Marvis won't be able to Support it, Because of the way Shuffle works in Marvis.

iOS Doesn't Provide APIs to Access NowPlaying Queue. So, to Infer Playback Queues, Marvis can't let Music App Shuffle Music(Marvis has to do it on its own), if it Shuffles, Marvis would not know what songs are coming up.

Thanks for trying. It did work before the update so hopefully it will eventually come back. Otherwise I have to retool most of my smart playlists. Ugh.

Thanks guys, and here's hoping!
I was surprised to say the least, that the apple support said you can only have A-Z sorting of playlists on iOS 8.4 ... kinda sounds weird, but there you go!
Cheers

View by genres, choose genre, click shuffle = crash.
That was my first attempt to use the app and every time it crashes.

Thank you very much for reporting this.

I just tried, but it didn't crash for me. I think something's specific for your Device. Which Device and iOS version?

Does Playing any Song Crash or just Genres Shuffle Only? Other Shuffle Buttons work?

If you want I can send you the Latest Beta. You can Test and see if it Works.

iPhone 5, iOS 8.4
As well as shuffling crashes, I select an album click shuffle - it plays. Click shuffle again and it crashes but music keeps playing.
I select an album, shuffle, crash.
There seems to be a connection between it crashing when you select shuffle WHILST music is playing(bug not exclusively).
I just caught sight of the app whilst passing through - I'm not a forum regular and I don't test apps or run betas. Thanks though, I think I might try again in a few months if I remember. Shame because I hate the music app in iOS 8.4 but have to use it because it works with CarPlay. Any plan to support CarPlay?

Thank you for the follow-up.

I don't Actually understand what the Problem might be but have you Jailbroken? Then some Tweak might be conflicting. Or maybe some iOS 8.4 bug (it's filled with many). I'm sure you'd have tried Restarting iPhone.

I don't know if your iPhone is already Submitting Crash Reports or not. You can turn it on from Settings > Privacy > Diagnostics & Usage. Turn on Share with Developers.

It would submit the Crash report so I can find what the issue might be.

Well, it's okay if you don't want to Test the Beta. It is already submitted to the App Store. It will go live in a few days.

About CarPlay, I haven't tried CarPlay myself but I believe it would work by Default.

Marvis uses Stock iOS Music App to Play Music. Everything iPhone Supports, Marvis Supports.

Yes, my device is jail broken, although I don't have any tweaks just cydia.
Audio plays through CarPlay yes, but your app will not appear on the CarPlay screen (car head unit). I've not heard of any apps that do yet, there may be some - I'm just not on the case. Iirc apple said that apps could be written to support it, but I guess it's early days?
I'll try a restart but truth is I can't dwell on this, I'm on holiday right now and shouldn't even be using my phone!

Ohhh, Okay then Jailbreak may not be the issue.

Thank you for mentioning CarPlay. Honestly I never thought of it. I'm not really sure how everything works. But I'll surely look into it.

I hope Restart Helps. Enjoy your Holiday.

So I think the latest update has messed up the now playing list a little. The order seems to be in shuffle mode always.

Ohhh, let me test, you sure Shuffle is off when you play music?

Update : Tested, works fine, I'm guessing Shuffle might have accidentally turned on.
