I got the sacred email this morning but nothing happening in my bank account as of today... However that does not surprise me with my bank.
I'm thinking it's going to be the second Tuesday of next week.![]()
I think some of you guys are getting shipped by and delivered by confused. If it ships by late April that could mean any day up to April 30th. If we assume an April 30 ship date and add 3-4 days for delivery, then you would receive your iPad on May 3-4 (assuming ipads are moving in transit on the weekend of may 1-2).
There is only 1 Tuesday in a week....So what is the 2nd Tuesday of next week?
You mean NEXT Tuesday?
ok the "magical and reovlutionary" thing is getting old...really quickly.
I say they ship on 4/28, 9 days prior to the 5/7 date, just like the Wifi models shipped on 4/3, 9 days prior to the 4/12 ship date of the second batch. I hope I'm wrong, but my feeling is not good about a shipment this week with the email they sent this morning.
I'm guessing if Apple took the time to draft the email to allay customer concerns about the May 7th announcement, it will be several days yet before it ships.
Yeh, I agree. AFAIK, Apple has not even expressed an inkling as to what the delivery date might be. Everybody appears to be assuming that there's going to be a mass delivery attempt all on the same day like the initial release, but I havent' seen any indication whatsoever that that's likely to happen. My guess is Apple will start shipping them out whenever their stock hits appropriate levels. Shipping times will vary according to normal UPS or FedEx schedules. I suspect that trying to arrange a delivery date for everyone on the same day is a huge headache and likely very expensive and I'll bet they'd really like to forego that on this followup shipment.
AS to the switch to "priority" shipping, my guess is that reflects that change in shipping paradigm, possibly even a whole different shipper.
The WiFi model was delivered on the 3rd, not shipped on the 3rd. I'm all for the 28th being the delivery date, would put it in my hands before a flight.
See, with my accessories that have shipped, they all said late April, nothing pending with my bank, then boom...I get an email in the morning giving a tracking number for whatever accessory. No charges were shown in my bank account until the next day after shipping. I didn't even get "preparing for shipment" on my order status. It all just happened.
I'm kinda hoping that happens with my ipad![]()
I logged into my bank account this morning and noticed that the amount of pending charges was higher than in the past few days. My bank (Chase) doesn't post what the actual pending charges are so I phoned them for the details. Sure enough, one of the pending charges was just added today, from Apple, in the amount of $870.45 which exactly matches my web order for the Wi+fi 3G plus sales tax.

Figure I will ask this here.
Should I order my 3G iPad through Apple today or should I wait to see when the Apple Store reservations pop up? Apple's website states the iPad 3G as shipping by May 7th and don't know if that means I would be like a second or third tier on the shipping time because of waiting so long to pre order or what. Basically what is the fastest way to get my hands on a 3G iPad at this point? Thanks!
