banking account

I got the sacred email this morning but nothing happening in my bank account as of today... However that does not surprise me with my bank.

See, with my accessories that have shipped, they all said late April, nothing pending with my bank, then boom...I get an email in the morning giving a tracking number for whatever accessory. No charges were shown in my bank account until the next day after shipping. I didn't even get "preparing for shipment" on my order status. It all just happened.

I'm kinda hoping that happens with my ipad :)

I'm guessing if Apple took the time to draft the email to allay customer concerns about the May 7th announcement, it will be several days yet before it ships.

I think some of you guys are getting shipped by and delivered by confused. If it ships by late April that could mean any day up to April 30th. If we assume an April 30 ship date and add 3-4 days for delivery, then you would receive your iPad on May 3-4 (assuming ipads are moving in transit on the weekend of may 1-2).

Yeh, I agree. AFAIK, Apple has not even expressed an inkling as to what the delivery date might be. Everybody appears to be assuming that there's going to be a mass delivery attempt all on the same day like the initial release, but I havent' seen any indication whatsoever that that's likely to happen. My guess is Apple will start shipping them out whenever their stock hits appropriate levels. Shipping times will vary according to normal UPS or FedEx schedules. I suspect that trying to arrange a delivery date for everyone on the same day is a huge headache and likely very expensive and I'll bet they'd really like to forego that on this followup shipment.

AS to the switch to "priority" shipping, my guess is that reflects that change in shipping paradigm, possibly even a whole different shipper.

So how likely do you guys think that once these things start shipping you will be able to walk into an Apple Store and purchase one of these without preorder like sone people managed to do with the iPad Wifi models?

I say they ship on 4/28, 9 days prior to the 5/7 date, just like the Wifi models shipped on 4/3, 9 days prior to the 4/12 ship date of the second batch. I hope I'm wrong, but my feeling is not good about a shipment this week with the email they sent this morning.

The WiFi model was delivered on the 3rd, not shipped on the 3rd. I'm all for the 28th being the delivery date, would put it in my hands before a flight.

Agreed.

FWIW I got the email about 1 of the two 3G's I ordered. The second order was placed a few days after the link went live and I've yet to receive the email about that one.

I get that, but I'm wondering why Apple would go ahead and charge for applecare a week or two before sending out the ipads?

Just got my email stating that it will ship late April. But the order status page still says not shipped and no charge pending to my cc.

uhh

I pre-ordered my Ipad WI-FI+3G and have not received any email reassuring me that my product will be shipped late april. However, when I check my order status it still says late April. I am kind of worried.:(

Credit Card Charge Now Pending

I logged into my bank account this morning and noticed that the amount of pending charges was higher than in the past few days. My bank (Chase) doesn't post what the actual pending charges are so I phoned them for the details. Sure enough, one of the pending charges was just added today, from Apple, in the amount of $870.45 which exactly matches my web order for the Wi+fi 3G plus sales tax.

Yeah that is exactly what happened with my accessories and bank account. Maybe we have the same bank?! :) Yeah so I am hoping the same!! Good luck to you. And enjoy the ipad when you get it... I know I will! :)

Oh yeah, with my keyboard I ordered it later then the original order and one day it was here... I forgot about it and it appeared - earlier than apple site predicted as well. That was nice but I have not opened any of my accessories yet, waiting for the ipad first. :)

I bank with Chase also - but they did post my full amount. What's the deal?

No email for me ...

I pre-ordered the 64GB iPad 3G the day it went on sale, and so did my pops. Neither of us have received that reassuring email. Why would some be getting it and not others? I agree that the waiting is half the fun, but I'd like to know what day I am waiting for.

If Cupertino were the North Pole, Christmas would be "Late December" one minute, "Jan. 7th" the next.

Of course, I am grateful that I live a charmed enough life where obsessing over a tablet ship date ranks as one of my most pressing concerns.

Have not gotten the mail, but mine still shows shipping priority in Late April. Just keep telling myself "only 2 more weeks!!". Killing me apple. I can't believe you can give new orders a ship by date but not your original pre orders!!!

I am jumping for joy for you!! YAHOO!! That means I am that much closer to seeing some activity in my account.

Figure I will ask this here.

Should I order my 3G iPad through Apple today or should I wait to see when the Apple Store reservations pop up? Apple's website states the iPad 3G as shipping by May 7th and don't know if that means I would be like a second or third tier on the shipping time because of waiting so long to pre order or what. Basically what is the fastest way to get my hands on a 3G iPad at this point? Thanks!

If you are open to going and waiting in line, the launch day for 3G will probably net you one quicker than ordering online at this point. That's what I'm doing.

I'd say wait - although store reservations may never show up. Worst case, you'd just have to show up at your local store as soon as that shipment arrives. You'd have a good chance at being among that first group.
