I've never seen people so excited to see a large charge placed on their debit/credit cards.
 
It would help if people specified which version they ordered. If could very well be that those who ordered on 4/18 are getting a model with greater inventory.

I ordered mine a while back (64gb) and still have not received the email.
 
I was expecting this when it seemed like Apple was sitting on cases and not delivering them until the first week of May. Seems like they want to have enough stock for the 3G roll out.

I ordered same model as you a week ago, received email @ 07:11am CDT.
 
Another data point: I ordered the 64GB 3G early on 3/12, got the "assurance" email this morning, and now my card was just pinged.

Steve is a genius; I've never wanted to see a nearly thousand dollar charge hit my account as badly as I want this to. It's bordering on pathetic at this point, and the saddest part of all is that I recognize it and yet continue in my behavior. ;)
 
I have not got the letter yet, I ordered March 12, at 9:15 PM PDT I ordered a 64 GB 3G version. But no letter yet. And no Pre-charge on credit card yet either. Wonder if they will ship out this week and we get them on this Sat?

+1. Even with 5 HD DVRs, the HD Extras Pack, HBO, Showtime and the NFL Sunday Ticket package on Directv, my bill was under $195 for the seven moths the payments are prorated over. Without ST, I'm at about $140 with tax.

You will and I have a feeling these unit will be shipping out tomorrow with tracking numbers hitting our emails this afternoon.

okay seems like the emails are not going out by model or date/time ordered. Are they going out by name... doubt that but maybe the email accounts are not receiving right away... not sure but seems a bit sporadic from all the postings. I love this analyzing fun.
