Picked up in Nashville, TN

Guess that answers the question of where these would come from. Looks like AAPL cached these near hubs for quick allocation to the shipper - FedEx...

Ship date Apr 29, 2010
Estimated delivery Apr 30, 2010 by 10:30 AM

cant wait...and it was just picked up in Nashville, TN

Gotta love FedEx . . . Nashville is 30 minutes from me, mine was picked up nearly 7 hours ago, and I'm not scheduled for delivery until "Before 3:00 pm". You're ten hours away, it was just picked up and you'll have it before 10:30 a.m. :p

Anyone else on east coast still stuck at Prepared for Shipment? I am starting to get depressed.

Still at Not Yet Shipped status. Called Apple earlier today and waited on hold for 15 minutes but the agent wasn't able to provide any other details as what's on the website. (Hopefully their call centers break down over this nonsensical shipping secrecy.) But I doubt they'll screw this up. It's somewhat clear the units have been sitting all around the country for a few days now so there'd really be no excuse for a mess-up.

Mine just got picked up in Nashville, TN...headed for Atlanta, GA. Anyone else have their iPad in the same facility as me?

Still just prepared for shipping, and only a half an hour before the 2:00pm overnight cutoff...

This has got to be the strangest method of shipping ever, I bet they could have shipped them 2 days ago with a cheaper method but since they have to arrive on the magical day...
We may never know, but the whole arrangement may be the cheapest way to guarantee 'deliver on this date' arrival. If you ship ground or UPS Brown, or whatever, it can take 3-7 days to cross the country.

I think (making this all up, now...) Apple was pissed about the fallout from the WiFi/UPS delivery and wanted to tell y'all: It will be there Friday, no ifs, ands, or buts. :D:D

Now, if a side-effect is, by shipping them to the local warehouses in bulk, that they hide all the usual tracking and drive people on MR nuts, what the hey...

Always interesting how all this works - I live a lot closer to Nashville than I do to Middletown, PA, and yet mind is shipping from PA .

6:00 AM on mine too. I wonder if FedEx is a little bit inundated with shipments...anyone know how many are shipping tomorrow?
