If it's at your local Fed Ex facility before it closes, you should be able to pick it up today.

I've done this before with Fed Ex. You just need your tracking number and ID.
This should be interesting... I'm sure we all would like someone to try this, as they should turn you down with 'no delivery of any type before Friday'.

But like the post on Engadget, I'm sure some FedEx site somewhere will have someone who doesn't read the embargo notification.

6:00 AM on mine too. I wonder if FedEx is a little bit inundated with shipments...anyone know how many are shipping tomorrow?
This is one of the items all the analysts are waiting for... how many people waited for the 3G version, after the 300-500 whatever thousand that reserved/ordered the WiFi for the first days.

I think it will be more, since the 3G model is more useful. But who knows how many people understood the month-by-month of the 3G?

64G. Status finally changed to "Prepared for shipment" Order placed at 4/2 12:30 PM

Got shipping email with tracking #, was in my spam folder for some reason. still no CC charge or pending? Why didn't they just charge these a few days ago? I'm not complaining though, less interest.

Placed my order Apr 3, 2010 at 01:44 AM PDT.

WiFi + 3G 64GB

Should have it by 4:30pm Friday. :D

mine has been saying prepared to send so i called apple. they said i would have it by tomorrow even tho it still says that nonsense...

What the heck...

I ordered my WiFi+3g iPad within minutes of being able to do so back on March 12th, but mine is still "prepared for shipment". I still expect I'll have it tomorrow as promised, and then next week I'm going to have to find something else to obsess about. 24 hours...

My iPad 3G 64 GB ordered 12 March @ 1048 PST... on it's merry way!!!

Oh great, now i'm singing Christmas songs! LOL!!

Mine is still sitting in TN - but i'm guessing it will scan on the normal 4am flight into Orlando. God help me if it goes to Jax again like UPS mucked it up.

I'm trying to figure out if my anal fedex place would let me pick it up in the morning on the way out of town for the day.....

FINALLY!!!! "Prepared for shipment" on my status! I know it's not a tracking number (yet)...but all the same....

I DO believe...I do...I do...I DO....

I wouldn't try this...remember he just fired an engineer for letting Woz just SEE the 3g!

The FEDEX employee will get canned and don't be surprised if the person trying this gets canned as well. LOL

Steve is watching...he's always watching...

LOL

Check out this thread if your order still says "Prepared for Shipment" or "Not Yet Shipped"
I don't see where that thread (the email from Apple) says 'if it says 'Prepared or Not Yet Shipped, don't worry, it's okay'. It just says how to handle 'I won't be home'.

It may be over-assuming to think that's what they meant (that it means 'ignore not seeing 'Shipped').

Same here. I live in Tampa.

Ordered 64GB WiFi + 3G iPad on Mar 12, 05:39 PDT.
