Happening on my work as well. Ive been on the phone for about an hour now with an Apple engineer and they aren't sure what is going on. I am going to record a video of the process.

Mirroring the exact same process on my iPhone and a co-workers Droid it works great. There's a bug here in the iPad.

Wow thought I would be alone on this problem. So apple has no idea what's going on either? I hope this gets fixed soon cuz it really sux!

I had a few problems, as well. But what I did was to shut off WiFi, then turn it back on. In each case the WiFi worked with no problem after doing this. I wouldn't be surprised if they include a fix for this in an update.

Yeah I just tried that and it didn't work either. I also did a hard reset and still no such luck. :-(((

Same thing happened to me in my first class, however it worked just as my iPhone does when I got to my second in a different building.

lol this is hilarious. My iMac i7 connects at 270mbit to my Time Capsule Dual Band (wireless N), but the iPad only connects at 39mbit, but connects to b/g at 54mbit. So N is actually SLOWER than b/g on my network. Yay!

I thought it might have been the building at first too So I walked around campus into different buildings and tried my wifi but still nothing. I wonder how long it's going to take for apple to resolve the problem bc I'm sure being Monday, we all experienced this for the first time today and there is going to be alot of ugly rants on the boards tonight.

Hmm happened to me this morning. I did everything to get onto my universities wifi (turn on and off wifi, hard reboot) but nothing worked. Everytime i entered my user and pass and clicked entered, it froze. Nothing happened Finally i gave up and just used our guest network which worked thankfully. Oh well, hopefully Apple will soon put out a fix for this.

Now my iPad is dropping the connection and asking
for the password.

Just tell me that this can be fixed by a software
upgrade and that I do not have to return my unit.

I am also experiencing week WiFi signal. My iMac 24", MBP, Iphones 3GS - all have full bars. iPad have one even if I stand right by Time Capsule. Sometimes it jumps to 2 bars but comes back to one bar a minute after.

Now tell me there is no problem! I want this thing to work just as bad as everyone else but I bought the 64 gb model and a don't want to pay a restocking fee if there is something wrong with mine. I guess I will roll the dice and see what happens. Apple had major problems with their imacs also and denied it forever and still are but the yellow tinge was a huge problem, but they didn't admit it, so why would they admit this either, thats just what I am trying to say. You don't have to jump on someone who has concerns, if anyone comes on here with a problem they get jumped on by you guys for even thinking that something is wrong with the precious ipad. Its rediculous because there is a problem.

Dude... what in the H are you talking about? Am I getting this right?

1. You haven't even tried to see if you had an issue.
2. You keep talking about a restocking fee that doesn't even exist. (If it doesn't work take the flippin thing back and they will give you your money back.)
3. You butchered the word ridiculous

So please stop this obvious attempt at a troll.

Mine was running a little slower in Safari than my MBP and occasionally I had it lose contact with the router. Following a suggestion on the Apple Support forums, I switched my Netgear router over to "g only" and it's flying! No loss of connectivity since then, either.

My Verizon Fios Actiontech router is G
only so I kmow that is not the problem.

Just read that what is presumed to be
the problem is the location of the antenna
which is behind the logo and sits on one's lap.

This may not be fixable by software.

I am going to give a few more days for
Apple to further address the problem. If
they do not I am going to return this to
the Apple Store.

I noticed the iPad does not heat up like my iPhone or Macbook Pro.... perhaps there was a compromise on the antenna then?

Again, I had this problem of dropped signal, re-input password repeatedly last night. Maybe it happened when I set the iPad down on a pillow; will try to reproduce tonight.

I do think the iPad is a game changer though.... that's why I bought it.

iPad won't connect to secure wifi

So this is messed up... I can connect to several different wireless access points with my iPhone and MacBook but not with the iPad. I am connecting to an apple time capsule. I have tried connecting to my verizon mifi. I can only get it to work if I disable encryption and connect to it via an open unencrypted wifi. I DO NOT have Mac filtering on. It's crazy! I'm not looking for troubleshooting but are you having the same issues?

Add me to the list of people frustrated with this problem.

I have a Verizon Fios actiontec router, set to G mode only.

I see what everyone else sees: Dropping the connection; upon wakeup, not reconnecting; sometimes re asking for password.

This is terribly frustrating. I'll just have to hold out hope that Apple will address this.

I cant even connect to home network.
I have the normal U-Verse router they give you with WPA-PASK (TKIP)
encryption.
I know the wifi works because I used it at barns and nobbles and the apple store. Macbook connect to it fine .

When I enter my password it just says
Unable o join the network.

I will try changing some settings on the router to see if it helps

UPDATE>
Stupid me had MAC Filtering on.
HEHEHE.
Now to see if I have the normal signal issues that
everyone is getting.

UPDATE 2
Tried a speed test and I am getting the correct speed. Now to see if mine drops signal or
asks for password.

/facepalm

I went ahead and opened my iPad and it connected right away and stays connected but my signal will go from full to 1 bar and the iPad never moved! I live in the country so I unsecured my router and I think its the only reason it seems to never lose service. I have speed checked it and it's down a lot from where my lap top is at though. I hope it's software but I have a feeling it's an Antenna issue. Who knows.

I do love it how you come on here and post a problem or concern and people immediately start bashing. I'm 30 years old, not in high school. People just need to admit there is a problem, that's all I was trying to say. Other than that, I love this thing.

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; U; CPU iPhone OS 3_1_2 like Mac OS X; en-us) AppleWebKit/528.18 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/4.0 Mobile/7D11 Safari/528.16)

I am having the same issues. It was working before, but now I'm having the same problem. Resetting the network settings, restarting, turning wifi on and off doesn't work. I feel pretty annoyed that I have to post this from my old iPhone and not my new iPad

My iMac i7 connects at 270mbit to my Time Capsule Dual Band (wireless N), but the iPad only connects at 39mbit, but connects to b/g at 54mbit. So N is actually SLOWER than b/g on my network. Yay!

I'm having the exact same issue here as well, otherwise I have no complaints with my iPad. I'm hoping it's just a software fix that's needed.
