At least he kinda hit for average...
Yeah, but in his two subsequent seasons for Philly he slashed…
2022 .218 with 46 HRs and 200 strikeouts in 155 games
2023 .197 with 47 HRs and 215 strikeouts in 160 games

His home run rate is pretty good, but with that average and strikeout rate he doesn’t have the overall impact that he should, his WAR was 2.2 in 2022 and 0.7 in 2023.

Take for example Aaron Judge who produces similar elite numbers of HRs but with an average of around .280, his WAR is about 5.5 yearly. A much more well rounded hitter.

Apparently Bob Melvin is leaving the Padres to manage the Giants. What say ye, Giants fans?

He's a very good manager. I'm happy to have him. The last time the Giants hired away a former backup catcher turned manager from the Padres, it worked out well.

Speaking of Boch, I'm so pleased for him. I have to look up if any other manager in history has won a pennant with three different teams, but he's done it now.

Wow best I've seen is back to back to back at a Phillies Game my dad and I went to a while back. Remember Schmidt and Kruk but forget the third.
Perdomo, Marte, Walker and Moreno...

DBACKS, BABY!!!!!

It should be a good WS. I think it was safe to say that the Rangers would get to the PS in some form but I didn't have them reaching the WS. The D-Backs never entered into the PS equation for a lot of people but here we are lol.

I'm torn over what would be more dramatic though...
  • Bochy, Seager and Eovaldi getting another WS ring but the Rangers first trophy?
  • D-Backs getting their second ring in 22 years?

To be completely honest, I don't know much about the Texas Rangers this year...

The Diamondbacks are a young, scrappy group of guys who love to play the game. They've been through a lot this season - ups and downs... just have to love their gutsy brand of CHAOS, and the havoc that it can cause - like the last two games in Philly... and for the most part, their pitching has been solid... Torey Lovullo has managed to push the right buttons and pull the right lever at pretty much the right time throughout the playoff run...
