None of those companies have sold the kind of product apple (entirely new product categories too I might add) has without their customers even seeing it in person.

I agree they are passionate, but thats not translating into sales like it does for apple.

----------

Keep it up with the personal attacks though

I don't know... Harley owners are extremely fanatical, to the point they even ostracize their own members if they don't have the right Harley. I owned a couple of Vrods for years and there was always an undercurrent that Vrods weren't real Harley's because they were not air cooled. That's how fanatical they were, not all of them of course, but a core group of them. Go to any BMW forum and say your Mercedes is superior and get ready to be lambasted way worse than on these forums. This fanaticism definitely translates into sales IMO, some companies heavily rely on this. Harley is the farthest thing from a quality product you can get, they are pretty much junk but they have a line out the door of consumers who want to buy their expensive products.

Curious you, and others seem to think there isn't a rabid core of fans in Music, Fashion, Electronics, operating systems, cars, motorcycles and most other consumer goods. If you, and others posting this over and over, believe that Apple is unique in having fanboys, To quote a recent post
"then you really need to get out more."

When did I say it was unique to apple?

Aren't we here to discuss smart phones and their related tech? Are we in the wrong forum? Are you?

Wasn't apple rated the most recognizable house hold name? You think that means nothing?

Aye I hear you, but when Harley releases a car and those same people are preordering it sight unseen, then I'll say they are on the same level as Apple. The vrod story goes to show you that their customers are not as accepting of new products. Applied to Apple for example, there could be an undercurrent that the new MacBook is not a real pc due to it having one usbc port also used for charging (with a cpu level of a 2011 air), but we aren't hearing that at all and they are on backorder

i mean nobody can match Apple, not that nobody else tries to do the same thing.

Exactly. No one is saying it's exclusive to apple only. Brand loyalty and recognition exists elsewhere and that loyalty leads to sales too.

The apple branding is particularly strong. Isn't apple the most recognize houae hold name? You don't get that title and not have loyal followers who will buy anything apple.

You don't think there isn't a line out the door for an unreleased Harley?!?!? They've announced blacked out versions of existing bikes, not even a new bike mind you but just the same bike with black wheels, paint job and accessories and I've seen forums blow up with people clamoring to pre-order. I used to mod a popular Harley forum, but even just always being around dealerships and such I've seen this. Same thing with certain autos, you have to get on a list and wait years before getting one because of the pre orders.

Thats still not a new product category for them though, Harley has always sold motorcycles. I said unreleased Harley car or whatever truely new product deviating from what theyve sold in the past, then they will be on apple's level.

Harley selling the same thing with minor tweaks to its subset of customers isnt the same thing to me as apple becoming the most profitable company in the world, spearheading with the ipod, then smartphones, tablets, and now a probably best selling watch, all while keeping the original mac line going strong (goddamnit this is way too fanboy for me to be saying). Is there such a thing as a harley reality distortion field :p ? probably :)

the apple logo is like sex, it sells.. no matter what, so far at least

I don't disagree with you at all, Apple could sell a pile of dog crap if it had the logo on the side. But there are other companies that are similar, maybe not as successful or skilled at that kind of game but still popular. But yeah, Apple is definitely at the top of its game. Beautiful quality hardware, marketing genius and simplistic software. I see what you mean about new product categories.

There is definitely a Harley distortion field, lol. At least Apple has quality hardware, Harley owners buy junk.

Hey my Harley has been nothing but reliable for its 30k miles! I am not a typical Harley jackass though, I like all kinds of different brands and will ride them all

It isn't junk. It just sounds like junk.

I'll take an inline 4 screaming at 17000 rpm's while gulping VP10 race fuel any day. Or an MV Agusta F4 1000 Senna. Love that bike. Sex on 2 wheels!

Anyone have the cognac leather band (brown)? I think I am finally just going to take the plunge and get the 360 in silver and make it a buddy with my Nexus 6.

I am just wondering about the cognac colored band and if it looks "cheap" versus the black or gray one. I am in a corporate world all day but I am not a fan of metal link bands and prefer a leather look or something along those lines.

My friend has it and I think it looks great in person.

Thanks for that! I wonder if the band is that reddish or is it the camera. I would hope it's a darker brown.

Depends on lighting, I think. From what little I saw of it on him, it was definitely unmistakably brown.

Maybe you can pop into a Best Buy to see in person before ordering though... Don't want to steer you wrong!

I appreciate the pics. Good idea to check it out at BB.

This device seems to be getting better and better and I'm in that in between period of the current one and new one on the way.

I have the brown one, but it's not on my watch right now so I can't take a pic. It looks really good. The only other leather one that would look more business is the black one.

Should pair really nice with your Nexus 6! :)

I think so but I REALLY dont need it but I am very intrigued with all the good things I have heard about it.

For the guys that have it, what do you find the biggest benefit of use outside of the obvious of not having to pull your phone out etc.

Looking for any feedback on the device.

I love the ability to see information like weather, and sports scores right from your phone. Makes things really easy. The biggest thing for me is customization. If I feel like wearing a dressy watch I can get a nice analog face. If I want something more sporty then I can get a really cool digital face. It makes one watch fit every situation. Plus if you get bored with a watch face just switch.

You going to be asking yourself how you lived without it after a couple of days.

So whatever I have set up on my phone for notifications (Instagram, FB,texts, etc) will do the same type of alert on my watch?

How is the ability to reply to a text with dictation? Pretty accurate?

Sorry for a ton of questions but trying to make myself justify spending the money on it and you are helping.

No problem at all. Whatever notification you want to setup from your phone can be sent to your watch. It brings up a small or large shade at the bottom of the watch face and gives you what app it is. When you get an email, the title and the first few lines will come up, and that fills the screen. Its really nice, and let's you know if you need to take out your phone or not.

Honestly at the price the watch is now, you can go wrong with it. It looks great, and you can make it look even better. The build is really good, and it bothers you as much as you want it to, or as little as you want it to. There are a lot of settings to play around with in the app, and it helps you make the watch work for you.

In terms of dictation. It's on par with google now on the N6. It works well, and pretty much gets everything right. The only issue I have had, is that sometimes it will start listening to what you are saying when you had not ask it to. It only happens sometimes, but it has happen.

I will be honest though. I ordered the Apple watch yesterday. It might be months before I see it, but I did order one. Its not because I don't like the moto 360. Its an awesome watch. I just want to use my iPhone 6+ again, and I need a smartwatch. Plus I am crazy and live new gadgets. I would say go for it and get the moto 360. You will love it.
