The "Garden" state
Yeah seems to a load of confusion from the info on announcement day to subsequent.

Hopefully once it's on their site to order it'll make more sense. Seems they have created this confusion themselves ...

My understanding is that the US is getting the Moto X Style with no bloat direct from Moto. No carrier subsidies.

The Moto X Play, however, will not be released in the USA, except as the Verizon Droid Maxx 2, hence the bloatware. And there's vague rumors that Verizon will also get a rebranded Moto X Style as the Droid Turbo 2, but there will still be pure, unlocked, Moto X Styles sold via moto for Verizon as well. Just no subsidy or EDGE pricing.

When 2 versions of the Moto X just aren't enough, now comes leaks of the upcoming Moto X Force, a high end, shatterproof version of the X. ETA sometime in December.

Saw that earlier today too ... I'm tempted to wait for the x force for slightly smaller dimensions and bigger battery.

Agreed. I like myself a giant phone :D so the 5.7" on the Moto X Style/Pure is fine be me but otherwise, there is nothing about it that would make me choose it over the Force is these specs are accurate.

What is it with manufacturers these days. They release their flagship and then usurp it only a couple months later. May as well just skip first release going forward and wait for the 'plus' model. It's starting to make impulsive buyers like myself think twice about snatching devices on launch - especially when Android resale value is so meek.

Agree. In this case, I'd wager that the Force will carry a premium price tag.

lol. I think I use reverse typing psychology on myself. I say I'm not and then I invariably do :D

Yeah - but by holidays when it's released Moto may do a little sale like they often did with the previous moto's at seasonal times. I think in this instance waiting a little may be more sensible ...

Though sense and myself are like that Tom Baker clip above :)

Problem is I get to try and play around with devices at BB and carriers and I end up caving. Maybe if I stay away and just use what I own? Nah that will never work because of you guys posting about whichever.

Maybe with the Note 5 and the 6+ I might be at least able to hold out for more than the usual time of trying something new. We'll see.

Another review where what is written in the review and their + / - points don't seem to tally completely.

"The X's 3,000mAh battery generally does a good job holding out throughout the day. My slightly ridiculous workdays are well-documented in these reviews, and the Moto X usually survived a 14-hour onslaught of Slack messages and YouTube videos with about 30 percent still left in the tank. I've never had an issue with the battery dying prematurely on me, but it didn't fare nearly as well in our standard Engadget rundown test: It only lasted about nine hours looping a 720p video with WiFi on and screen brightness set to 50 percent. In comparison, the LG G4 managed nearly 11 hours with similar specs. I'm still trying to figure out what's causing this gap, and I'll update this review with any new findings. On the plus side, with the included Turbo Charger, it only took around 25 minutes to go from bone-dry to 50 percent full. The last half of the charging process takes a little longer, so expect to sit around for about an hour and 10 minutes for a full 0-to-100 percent charge."

Engadget seem to basing the 'battery mediocre' on one test that really doesn't reflect normal use as testified right above it.

Playing with USA motomaker - I'm going white with champagne gold accents and a red leather back & 32gb when it's available here. Waiting to see what price it will retail for on Moto in europe.

Not very impressed with the reviews so far...

Considering the price, the reviews are saying it's a really good phone. I will probably keep my next phone for some four years, as I've done with my iPhone 4S, but I don't think I would keep the Moto X Pure 2015 for four years. Still, for those who love Android and are looking for a really good mid-range phone as far as price goes, the Pure seems like a good choice.

Can't decide whether to get White with Gold Champagne accents or stick with Black front & accents.

Does anyone have a white moto x previous ? I am concerned seeing the sensors on the front will irritate me - hence my current 2014 and previous 2013 were black models, but I fancy something different this year.
