As a client, I'm over ATT. What was holding me back was my unlimited data and employee discount but I've made peace with losing both; although, I haven't switched to another carrier, yet.

Even recently, I got the ATT variant of the Note 5; omg on the amount of bloat they put in these devices. Not only that, the branding on the device is terrible. I get that the coverage is second best but not worth the headaches they provide. BTW, returned the Note cause of it.

I hear you there, I like att because they have the best gsm coverage. I will not buy phones from them though, at least android ones. I used to be unlimited then tried straight talk when I went off contract back in the day when att offered no discount when your contract was up, went back to postpaid with my wife's discount when they did mobile share with off contract discount and now we are on att gophone. If we were heavier data users I would probably look at T-Mobile harder.

I can take some pictures right now.

They will be indoor pictures coming from an iPhone 6, Nexus 6 and Moto X Pure Edition. I'll upload them to my computer instead of using Tapatalk.

I'll take a couple of pictures of different things.

The main difference I would say is software. If you like ios stay with iphones. The pure is pretty close to the nexus experience with some moto software help.
I've been using android for the last few years but I always liked using my iPad more... I'd get the 6s+ but the 64GB will be too expensive in Europe ><

Let's play the guessing game.

Which picture goes to which device (Nexus 6, iPhone 6 and Moto X).

HDR is turned on for all three devices and flash was off.

They are label 1, 2 and 3. :)

Not a clue but now I do want a Smirnoff !!!!! ;)

Saw this earlier. Holds up well with S6 in daylight - seems imo on the video at least to have better contrast & colour reproduction. Lowlight S6 handles much better. Though I never take photos on lowlight or nighttime tbh. Certainly it's an improvement anyway.

I think the X does better in several pics, I wonder if they have a faulty S6. I noticed in a lot of those s6 pics there was almost a foggy/whitish look to the pics

To me it looks like the S6 is maybe using HDR and levelling the mid and dark tones resulting in a more subdued less contrast image. HDR was likely by default on Auto on the S6 and by default HDR is off on Moto X

That's my suspicion, but I think main thing I take from the video is that in daylight it should be able to keep up with the Jones at least this year.

The question marks are battery life and bloat (read something somewhere about Motorola apps included and the removable without root).

I will try to get one when BB has it in stock in my parts. Why I have no idea with what I already own and I would take a big loss especially on the Nexus 6 if I sold it.

The Motorola apps are very few (4 of them) and are mostly the enhancements apps that make a Moto x a Moto x.

Using the moto x pure the last couple days its a real pleasant experience coming from an iPhone 6.

It's super smooth, the screen is very nice. Nicer than my wife's iPhone 6+ when we put them next to each other.

My only gripe is not being able to use Google now when the screen is. If you want that feature you need to use the moto voice which lags voice commands a bit. Google now works when the phone is on and works awesome tho.

Thanks for your perspective. A few questions:

1. So would you recommend a Moto X Pure over an iPhone 6 or 6S, taking into consideration the difference in price? Would having other iDevices factor into your recommendation considering less continuity among the devices (iPad Air, rMBP) putting a Motorola into the mix?

2. I plan to keep my next phone for at least four years as I have my present 4S. Would you see the Pure lasting that long, or would that make you go with something like the 6S?

3. How do you rate the camera?

4. Anything else about the Pure?

Thanks much.

Well, at least in terms of software updates you will always get the best on iphones and nexus, i doubt you will receive more than 2 major updates on moto x. I also have an 4s and even if ios 9 slowed down this phone pretty hard, it still works decently for a very used device, i'm also hardly deciding between moto x/new nexus/iphone 6s even if for example moto x is more like a mid range smartphone where iphone 6s is more like an flaghship. I'm also interested in more opinions & thoughts.

I have a moto e backup phone and found the Moto apps not worth it on that device. Was able to disable (not remove) them in settings. :)

What are your feelings handling it versus her ip6 Plus?

1. For the price I would recommend it over any of the flagships. But if your asking if its better than an iPhone I can't say because it depends if you really like ios. Some people enjoy imessage, face time, podcast app, find my friends. There really is no replacement for imessage on Android, they have hangouts but I find it not as polished. I also have a macbook pro and don't find it difficult to switch between the 2. If you had an apple watch that might change things up though.

2. I don't know about 4 years or even any phone for 4 years. It has most of the latest technology and that's all you can really ask for right now (minus the fingerprint sensor). The camera can stand up to the flagships in good light but sub par in low light which will supposedly be fixed in updates.

3. I feel like its the best Android phone on the market right now. Samsung has the best hardware but their software ruins the experience for me coming from silky smooth ios. Battery life is about 4 hours of screen on time, but the fast charging really helps with that. You can basically charge to 100% in about 40 minutes which is awesome.

We will have to see how the nexus 2015 compares. But some of the design on it just looks real dumb. A fingerprint sensor on the back? Really? Coming from an iPhone 6 when I work at my desk i don't want to have to pick up my phone to access the fingerprint sensor to unlock it. But we will see.

Tldr: best phone on the market for the price. Stands up against the note 5, s6, iPhone 6, maybe 6s?

It may be a very good phone for the price but my experience here is that lots of folks don't care for a "mid priced plus tier" performer which reviews seem to indicate in my browsing this morning, they want flagship quality and are willing to spend to get it.

Battery life
Screen quality
Camera quality with low lighting
Overall Performance

These were the bigger issues in the reviews I browsed versus the higher priced flagships , I really don't want a mid priced plus tier performer with what has been accomplished up to this point with some really nice flagships lately and don't mind spending more and being happier with those.
