I'd say yes since I recently own both.

Screen: I like N6's, but then again, I love Amoled screens. But in sunlight, Moto X was way better.

Camera: Moto X

Comfort: Moto X

Battery: Similar but I was getting slightly better battery life on N6 (probably due to me having Android M).

Honestly, the Moto X felt like Moto saying, "Let's fix N6 problems and create the Moto X Pure Edition."

If I had to recommend one of them to a person, I'd say: Moto X.

The more I look at the Moto X the more I think I should get one. I had the N6 and found it way too big. Even my Nokia 1520 was easier to use than the N6

With the X having a SD slot, is the 16GB worth the investment? I don't know if I wanna spend the extra $50 knowing I can just get an SD card.

For me I had no choice only 32gb is available to me to order, however I would have gone 16gb if available and €50 cheaper and simply stuck a 32/64gb microsd card in there.

How does that work with Androids? Can the phone easily access the micro SD card, or do apps have to be on the phone itself? I've read some people who said that SD card storage is useless, but I have never owned an Android. (That could change, though, if Apple has locked out MVNO's with the first wave of 6s phones.)

In other words, is there an advantage to having more storage on the phone itself? If you can buy a 16GB and add up to a 128GB micro SD card, why would anyone pay extra for a 32GB or 64GB Moto Pure?

my motox pure just came

two things: so much easier to hold than my ip6+

and comparing screens next to my ip6+, i can say this:

black levels are noticeably better on the motox.

Interesting about the screens. Let's see if the 6s+ improves in a '15 vs '15 flagship standoff.

Still waiting for all the reviews for this to come in. If any of you guys have/get one and have the chance to review the camera taking pics of moving things (think small kids running or playing football, etc) I'd be very interested to hear your opinions. Too many times have I read reviews of phone cameras saying they are excellent only to be let down when the subject isn't static.

Since Lollipop Google has supported SD Cards. It used to be an issue where you were limited prior to what content you could store on them (photos, music etc but not apps - unless like Samsung & HTC they implemented support) but now Google has finally embraced SD Card support and apps can now have their data installed on the MicroSD. There are some exceptions if the app maker doesn't support it, but generally MicroSD support it working fully and Android M is supposed to cement that further.

I read that the screen quality is pretty bad on off axis viewing in comparison to the high end flags ships (IE. iPhone and Galaxy)

Thanks. So are you saying there is little to no practical advantage in paying more for the 32GB ($449) or 64GB ($499) Pure over the 16GB ($399)?

it would work just like osx/windows

you can point all your photos, music, videos to the SD card if you want.

in Android 6.0 google will merge the SD card with the internal storage into 1 file system. So if you have a 16gb phone with a 32gb sd card, you get a single 48gb phone storage system.

yes, there is a very small amount of color distortion off axis. comparing to my ip6+ i would say that its very negligible. but its there.

my screen is completely uniform. Its a little warmer than ip6+

anyone whose bought iphones in the past know that there is a lottery involved with yellow screens & random blotches.

its a relief to see that my moto is uniform.

I wont be able to know/say for sure for probably 1 week, but the reviews i saw/read basically said that in proper lighting it matches the ip6. Once you put the camera in less advantageous conditions it falls behind. I think for what i paid ($425) i am completely fine with having a lesser quality camera, as opposed to a similarly price ip6+ at $850.

see this from a real review site:

http://www.dxomark.com/Mobiles/Moto...tyle-and-Substance/Photo-and-Video-Sub-scores

and i include the full retail price because that's how i buy my phones-- I have unlimited on verizon. So for different people they will have other opinions.

Moto X's prior have tended to have a warmer yellow white and so does the Nexus 6. I'm hoping whites are closer to white than previous models.

The 6S Plus might be heavier but I am not going for it. The cost for even 16gb will be much much higher, more so for getting one unlocked, it would be even more noticeable in my pocket with the added weight and the darn thing's overall size given the display already leaves much to be desired.

Congrats to new owners, I will probably cave shortly. :)

One of my biggest isses with iOS is that i could never browse e.g. MLB.com full desktop without it crashing.

Now I can go to mlb.com, get to gameday, and view everything in desktop mode & see all the full highlights and videos straight from the browser without any crashing or having to jump through apps. Now i can do the same for NFL.com and basically anywhere. I can do the same for zillow in full desktop mode too.

This is a personal preference and one of the biggest motivators for me to move off iOS. Now i have a full browsing experience without the crashing.

Got my Pure today. First thing, I love the screen. It blows away the Nexus 6, both in brightness, color saturation, and sharpness. The Pure even appears to be a higher PPI than the Galaxy S6 because the S6 still uses a Pentile/Diamond matrix.

The only complaint I have so far is a shadow/spot at the top right corner of the screen that is noticeable on solid colors -- both light and dark.

Wow this is great news but this makes me wonder why in the heck the new Nexus's don't have sd cards then

The most annoying thing about the phone so far is the ascending ringtone. I'd forgot about the Moto X having that last year. Sadly, I probably won't get a replacement and will just send this one back for a refund while I wait for the new Nexus because I don't like the ascending ringtone. I complained about it on the Motorola forum last year but it had completely slipped my mind.

So it's finally on MotoMaker UK.

But £399 !!! Starting price and only 32/64gb options.

If you just want standard back, Clove.co.uk is still currently cheapest at £350

Curious about preoperding so customised one today (64GB and wood back)and it came to £454 all in which is a bit too much for me. Its £158 more than the OP2. Granted from a more reputable company and it has a bigger screen and more interesting design but still too much.
