Well the new Moto G actually looks more like the Moto X 2014 and the new Moto X 2015 looks like its going to be just slightly smaller Nexus 6 albeit with front facing flash.

Ergonomically it looks like they have lost what made the original Moto X 2013 design so great, the Moto X 2014 was a better phone however its increased size did take away much of the great ergonomics. Going 'bigger' again to 5.5 / 5.7" to me seems like a mistake imho.
That is my point....Moto is reusing old designs. They are even using the Nexus 6 size for the new Moto X. Unless they step it up with the camera this time they might fall into the HTC realm of insignificance.

Yeah its a brutal competitive market out there ... Heck look at Apple, sold 43.5 million phones in 3 months and their stock price tanked! Moto and HTC could only dream of selling that many in a year let alone 3 months.

I do get the feeling though that the G is more of a priority sell than the X. It's certainly the bigger seller of the two and the new G actually looks great especially if it comes in at same price as previous G models. The new G = 4G, 5" 1080p screen, Stereo speakers, 13mp camera, SD Card support etc, if they can nail that at $199-229 they are laughing and will own much of the budget market.

Please, if rumors of that battery capacity and better camera are true, it may be time to switch back to Android. Would love to pair it with a Moto 360 or its successor.

Managed to watch the presentation.

1) Moto X Style is the flagship - VERY impressive phone, 5.7" QHD, 21MP camera, 808, really brilliant considering it starts at $399. Available September.
2) Moto X Play - hmmm... It makes sense in most ways BUT 5.5" 1080p, 21MP camera, Snap 415 (hmmm), gigantic battery (3600mPh). For me, it's just TOO BIG, why 5.5" when it should have been 5.1" or 5.2". Available August.
3) Moto G - nailed it, best phone in the world for the price. It's stunning and available today.

Also a couple of awesome looking bluetooth headphones from $60-70.

No 360 mk2 though.

Yeah Moto X Play is an anomaly. Maybe it'll be targeted more in developing countries like India and China where Lenovo are strong.

The G & X Style are great buys for their prices. I am definitely going to get a Moto X Style when they are eventually released.

Probably, they've taken a few things away from it - older processor, it's 21MP but higher aperture, 1080 screen etc.

I just think they messed up - there's no actual competitor to the iPhone 6! It doesn't make sense.

The Style is aimed at the Note 4/5, the LG G4, the Z3/5 etc. But the Play is great for overseas, where is the direct rival to the iPhone 6 and the Galaxy S6?

I think they really missed a trick, here. The Moto G is perfect, the Style seems the real deal (for the price, too, it may have just made the OnePlus 2 obsolete!) but they totally left out the biggest market.

Yep I can only imagine that sail One Plus has been flying since yesterday just got an awful lot of wind knocked out of it.

Interesting stuff. Motorola did not slack! I'm still digesting.

5.7" but in that body... those pics comparing it to the iPhone 6 Plus and the S6 really show how little bezel they managed and how much screen real estate they got in there.

Very interesting, indeed.

And the promise of best in class camera? Let's see!

I really wish that it's fulfilled. Samsung and LG have been dominating in the smartphone camera arena for android users for quite some time. We need another major player.

Agreed! Hope they deliver on the promise.

The specs, the price point... all lovely.

I'm still ingesting and digesting, but can anyone fill in the blanks?

Dual front facing speakers?
Wireless charging? I know it's got super quick charge.
Onboard storage? 64GB option only? I know it's got expandable microSD
