Right. Are we missing something? Are there people who have been complaining that they can't find the night mode option so they need that application button quadrupled in size? And who at Apple decided that moving arguably the most used functionality to a second tab to increase the night view app size was a good idea?

I've never been so annoyed by a design change in my life. Talk about a step backwards in terms of simplicity. Exactly the reason Steve Jobs would've shut this change down.

I understand man. I don't know wtf Apple is doing lately. They are making all sorts of stupid UI decisions like the giant font in the music app.

So, if I need to access something on the first pane, I have to swip again? Everything should show on one page, plain and simple.

Ah, so now you want the first pane? Does a swipe really take you that long to do?

They moved the music on a different pane because before if you adjusted the volume for example some people would hit the scrubber instead and vice-versa. It does make sense.

You really think the font size in Apple Music is how it's supposed to be? LOL. It's a bug (it's not like we're running a beta or anything, things can and will change).

Oh and if you still don't like it, stay on iOS 9. Simple.

An added swipe takes longer than not swiping. The point is, they added a step without adding any functionality. It's a completely unnecessary change.

And why are they using this font on the promo page on their website? And in the promo video for iOS 10?

Face it. Apple seems to be moving away from ultra thin fonts. Lock screen for example got also a bolder font.

Seriously. There ya go. That's all you need to do. We don't need an overly sized night mode button to take up most of the control center lol.

I feel pretty confident they'll switch it back. If not, Tim Cook might as well sign the pink slip. Guy has no clue what to do

How are you using iOS10?

I just have it on my daily iPhone 6. I am currently no longer involved in developing but still have my account. I actually put iOS 10 on less than 24 hours ago.

Overall I am really like beta 1, took me several attempts to get used to the no swipe to get through the lock screen, but already loving that.

I think you are right. And I'm sad that Apple do a lot of stupid design discussions in the last time. However the font is a matter of taste (for me the bold font is a sign of a very bad taste).
Apple should just start to add more options so everyone can configure the GUI he likes.
[doublepost=1466015343][/doublepost]However, you guys should give Apple feedback:
http://www.apple.com/feedback/

If enough people are complaining about the font, the lack of swipe to unlock or the stupid control center Apple may give us an option in the settings or revert the change :)

The new control center is the ugliest thing I've ever seen my whole life. They made everything ugly with iOS 7, and with iOS 10 they made it even uglier.

I like the iOS 7 Design. I prefer the flat and simple design much over the old one.
But iOS 10 (control center, bold font) is ugly. Yes.

iOS 7 was very ugly, they enhanced it with iOS 8 and 9, but now they went back to the same level of ugliness as iOS 7

However, there is also an other option. Don't update to iOS 10 when iOS 10 stays ****** :) I consider this if things not change.

I've said it 50x since the presentation but this has to be the worst looking beta 1 out of the lot. Naturally, me saying this will bring out the apologists telling everyone that "it's just beta 1" and that "a lot of things can change before GM" -- but my real problem with what we've been shown is that it's the awful foundation on which they will be iterating.

Will things get better? Presumably they'll refine and refine until it's to an acceptable point design-wise, but I cannot get over the fact that THIS is what they decided was ok to show the public. Music? News? Control Center? Notifications (and the hilariously absurd new swipe down for notifications screen), Messages (L O L) -- it all smells really bad of design by committee. It also feels as if they're trying too hard to bring over concepts from watchOS to iOS without considering that that sort of rationale is just plain wrong. Same with trying to fit the same interactions and concepts that a phone has to the tablet space. I for one was a huge fan of the flat look, the edge to edge artwork, transparency, fonts of the thinner variety, overlays and having a sense of depth without being incredibly literal about it.

With all that being said, it seems as if right now Apple is in the midst of a really radical shift in design. They've always been a stalwart in both user experience and user interfaces, and it's sad to see the cracks really starting to show as they continue to trot out what I believe to be a more fractured experience overall, and whether that eventually punctures enough holes in the ship to bring it down has yet to be seen.

I'm not going to say it again after this. It's a bug.

And do we really need a giant nightshift button? Such wasted space.

That giant night view button is the sole reason the music options were moved to a different pane. Imagine that. What executive approved this? They should be walked out the door.

I really like the look of the new control center. I hope that swiping from the bottom is actually a entirely new feature. We have three pages now, settings, music and home. What's to say they won't add more? It's like an evolution of glances from the Apple Watch. I could be wrong but I like the idea.

I think pages is an excellent idea and a step in the right direction! Just my opinion. And the rounded edges and positioning is looking better and better the more I look at it.

There is hope for third party pages as well...

Sure. why don't do we just give each app its own pane within the control center? That way, we can swipe until we're numb in the face.

Bingo. It's absurd for people to argue "does it really take that much more time"....they added an extra step to something for absolutely no reason.

These are the kinds of decisions that, when done over and over again, make people eventually hate an application or OS.

I'm sure if this is true that you can choose which apps or whatever they decide to have there. People are honestly overreacting with all these small changes. Music controls are still there, even with album art now. Maybe lyrics in the future. And it will stay there as long as you don't swipe back to the toggles.

Uh uh...nope nope nope.

If iOS starts taking queues from watchOS, it will be the worst decision Apple has made since the iPhone's inception.
