Stop saying that. Everyone seems to circle jerk this sentence. It's hardly ever true, we hardly get anything redesigned. Just slightly refined, everything that Apple has showed us is set in stone. That is the foundation, they've already made their choice with the bold fonts and such
If the worst thing that happens to me for the next year is I have to swipe again to access music controls. I'll be doing pretty good.
Hopefully things work out the way you want them to. Cheers.

I'm excited about getting into a new world of phones in the near future. I've been with Apple since the 3GS or whatever it was called.

But, I can't support a company that makes this type of idiotic change. That's all it is. It's simply stupid, period. But, that's my personality. I'm very much about principle and quit using websites, software, etc whenever a mind blowing change is made.

There's a reason craigslist and Google.com do so well. Simplicity! If Apple keeps up with this kind of crap, they'll start to lose what drew people to apple in the first place.

Good night!

First of all, control center is used to toggle settings QUICKLY. We don't need to be given album or even lyrics??? WTF, thank god you don't work with Apple or you would've just made it even worse.

Besides, watchOS for rid of their glances feature in watchOS 3

And you can still do all that. Am I missing something here or am I the only one seeing pictures of cc with toggles for settings? And just because something has done something before doesn't mean it has to stay like that forever. Thank god you don't work for Apple or we would still have iPhone os 1. Second of all its beta 1. Chill people. The scrubber will probably get fixed.

This, this, very much this.

I'm not saying that this will be fixed (no guarantee it will), but no one can deny that all things considered, this is pretty insignificant.

For me personally, I would just go "meh" and move on. But I guess that's what macrumors is for nowadays, people complaining about needing an extra swipe to control their music (which isn't even playing) in a beta software.

Well, more power to you guys. For your sake I hope things work out for you, whether with iOS or Android or Windows phone or whatever.

People complained about bigger things when the iOS 7 redesign came along, and here we are years later with most being just fine with it all.

Or, have swipe up split 50/50. Swipe up from left or right side to show 1st or 2nd panel.

The new unlock system is ****, and no one uses iMessage, we use snapchat and whatsapp! We have a bad android version, after all the complaints and comparisons Android N is the future even though I like iPhones, but it was before when iOS was cool, now it is not

It's all relative. It happens to be the most used function on my phone. I listen to music basically throughout the entire day. I pull up and pause constantly when someone calls, or I need to join a meeting, or whatever it may be.

And no, I haven't called it quits for eight years with iPhone and all the other changes they've made. This one just happens to be my breaking point because of how often I use this functionality and more importantly, how incredibly ridiculous the change is. It's one thing if they add something but they provided zero in replacement.

That's almost even more ridiculous. So now if I'm listening to audio, which is most of my day, I can't pull up and quickly adjust brightness settings like I do often? Or access DND function.

Bottom line, it's the opposite of what Apple is known for. It's no longer simple. It's added steps and wasted space.

I'll shut up now and be patient hoping they change it back but if not, this is for sure my last iPhone! People say that all the time but this change is too illogical for me to support. :).

complaining is no big deal, that is what forums have become the use for, just make sure you leave your feedback in the developers feedback page. If enough people agree with you we could very well see it revised in the coming betas.

I do like how if you're playing music it becomes the first page.

Why do you have to give non requested opinions about his persona? He is in an Apple forum, of course he will complain about this "silly" stuff. Should he complain about the sirian war on an apple forum?

Would you not be using your headphone controls to control your music anyway?

One of the biggest issues I've had in the past with control centre is its all too squashed together and there's many times where I've ended up changing the volume rather than starting/stopping whatever I was playing. If moving the controls onto a separate control centre window solves that, then I'm all for it.

Half the time. I sit in an office most of the day so I play my music on the speaker sometimes. Plus, let's not forget about "skip track". I use that all the time too. The headphone skip track functionality, don't even get me started on that. Works 40% of the time.

I like them going back to the pre-iOS 7 design for music, it needed the space, my only complaint is that they blew up the night view button, should have been the flashlight, I'm sure I can speak for a lot of people in saying it's used more than anything else.

I don't understand the purpose of blowing up those buttons like that either. Apple has always had the best interface designs and then they do this?

Control center and the new Music app is some of the most horrendous designs I've ever seen from a professional company like Apple.

If that were true, it wouldn't be so bad. But that isn't correct.

These forums are funny. Apple forum users are probably some of the most OCD people ever. And yet we still end up with threads complaining about people voicing their dislike of something. Go figure Apple isn't always right. Requiring more swipes than before to do the same action is a step in the wrong direction. To address a previous comment, the complaints end over time because we all know that once Apple locks it down, they aren't going to change, so there becomes little point in complaining. But in these early beta days, there is still hope ☺

I do like how if you're playing music it becomes the first page.

And Mac Rumors has some of the most hyperbolic posts ever seen on the Internet. It would take me 5 seconds to find designs more horrendous than control center and the music app.

I think they are just trying to promote Night-mode which is fine left alone, I don't really get why they made it such a large button.

They did have to do some rearranging based on what they thought would be most used because tech companies run by multi-billionaires think about the near future based on things they've been using for a while, I guess this means those said billionaires like to turn night mode on and off a lot but as an example of their though process: "Pretty soon everyone will have automatic blinds and thermostats, because I've had it for 2 years now". What they are failing to realize is that the average person is going to look at Nest for I think $200 then see cheap-o-stat for $60, that's a no brainer. Honestly, how often does a person change the thermostat? Maybe 12 times a year? Is the 12 "get up and go to the thermostat" worth $200? To a billionaire yes, to Joe and Jane down the street, it's an obvious no. The initial cost to be able to set up a scene, is at least $1000 and people just aren't going to pay that much for automation.

Geo-fencing the garage door is a whole-nother task with buying a new garage door opener, easily 500+.

Lighting $100 a bulb vs ~$5 for a pack of 4 regular bulbs, even the LED bulbs.

I haven't done any research, these are just ballpark figures based on what I have seen and guestimates of what I'd expect I'd have to pay for network connectivity.

Everyone is just waiting 10 years for these $500 dvd players to come down to $20.

As for Apple Music, Steve Jobs would be rolling in his grave for the person who used an Arial-like font for the header.

Well I haven't personally seen the music come up first when using it because I only use Spotify. If what your saying is correct though it is kind of silly considering that using the music part of the swipe up function is probably the most used reason people use CC
