After updating to 10, the Time & Date are no longer centred on the iPad Lock Screen - they are aligned Left ... is that now the setting?

And on a side note, I've never liked the iTunes UI but the iOS 10 version has a bit more appeal to me.

for someone who doesn't use a passcode it is absolutely terrible
I agree, but with raise to wake, I don't miss slide to unlock at all (after 8 years of sliding to unlock straight into the home screen - no passcode, no touch ID). Don't have to press any buttons to open my phone and now get to use touch ID without any extra "fuss"

It should be centered in vertical orientation only.

So pressing the home button is unimaginably worse then slide to unlock? I don't get it.

Previously, you press the lock/unlock button (or home button) to wake the iPhone, then 'slide to unlock'. Now you do either to wake the phone, then 'press the home button' to unlock.

I must be missing something. I don't get why that's "absolutely terrible".
After the first press, you have to wait for a certain amount of time to press the second time. With slide you can almost slide immediately after the press. Besides, one more press means button gets broken faster.

Am I the only one who hates that they basically bolded/changed to a thicker font for the time and date on the lock screen?

Yeah I noticed that right away. Also, the Time/Date text moved down a bit.

I understand why the designers did this -- to give space for the search bar to slide over during a swipe right to the Widget screen, but it messes up the vertical centering of some wallpapers.

Someone in another thread mentioned that on the lock screen, everything at the top (your carrier, signal, etc) is bigger than when on the home screen when the phone is unlocked, which is true, like it's zoomed in. Someone else did say though that iOS9 is the same, but at least on iOS 9 the time and date on the lock screen were not zoomed in/bolded/blurry like they are here.

Hope they fix that.

I'm hoping they bring back slide to unlock like they did with camera roll. Until then I'll stick with iOS 9.3.5

Not coming back. There's only so many gestures before things start not working because they're in use. Slide to unlock can't come back because any left slide brings up the camera. Any right slide (to unlock) brings up the widgets.

I realize that swiping left and right bring up other stuff now but not everybody uses those like that. There needs to be a way to customize that part of it. They also need to make a way of locking the phone so that you don't accidently unlock it while in your pocket for people that don't use passcodes and most people I know do not use passcodes and I work in a computer repair store in a town of about 15,000 people.

They are zoomed on the lock screen in iOS 9. The font is thinner, that's true, but the size is more or less the same (and I'm not seeing anything blurry or anything like that).

having to press down on the home button to unlock the phone!!!!! I am so used to pressing the lock button on the side to wake the screen and then placing my finger on the home button to unlock it.

The fact that you can wake the screen by lifting and then have to press down the home button just seems to backwards. What were they thinking?

Settings, general, accessibility, home button, select rest finger to open option. Problem solved.

I beg to differ, I prefer the new lock screen. However, I hate the pressing home to unlock and quickly switched it to rest after getting the GM on the 7th.

I believe it largely depends on which generation of Touch ID you have. 1st gen Touch ID users (me with my iPhone 6 plus) I believe would prefer the Accessibility setting of "rest finger to open". My feeling is that this new feature was designed for 2nd gen Touch ID devices.

just my .02 cents

I have a blinding hatred for every instance of it on the new OS. From the lock, to Music, to News....absolute eyesore. I guess people who have Zoomed view won't care, since their UI already looks atrocious, but man...

I don't hate it.

It almost seems like the lock screen has potential for another layer of interaction if developers utilize it.

IMO, no. You aren't allowed to 'customize' away the keyed ignition of an auto or the password requirement of accounts on websites. If you don't like that, tough cookies. Leave the key in the ignition or use 1234 as your password, if they so bother you. It's your problem then to deal with the complications that may arise out of that behavior. If someone chooses not to use a lockcode on their mobile device (iPhone, iPad, iPod, whatever) -- it's their problem to deal with the complications that might arise from such behavior.

You can try doing this. https://www.macrumors.com/2016/09/14/ios-10-home-button-alternative-no-clicking/

I initially had that on, but then every time I go to hold the button to use Apple Pay it would unlock the phone for me and got a bit annoying. Now I've gone back and just clicking it to unlock. You get used to it really quickly.
Every time i use Apple pay, I touch my iPhone to the sensor/pad (payment device not the home button..) and when the Apple Pay screen pops up *then* i place my finger on the home button. works every time and never opens the iPhone.

Granted I have not used Apple Pay in iOS 10 yet. There is an Apple Pay supported vending machine at work, guess i'm buying a Mtn Dew tomorrow.
