This guys reviews i trust more than most. He says some good things about Lollipop and the Nexus 6. But he also some honest negatives as well.

The general negative points from the other reviews were the battery life, the snappiness of the phone and the color calibration. For Marques the latter didn't seem to be an issue, but regarding the former two, he seemed to be in agreement. He said the battery life is average and that the phone sometimes lags.

Did he say lag? I thought he said it wasn't as snappy as you would expect?
Not the same thing.......

Good review of the Nexus 6 camera - http://www.dxomark.com/Phones/Googl...andset-storms-in-to-the-DxOMark-Mobile-top-10

Comes out higher than the Iphone 5S, S4 and Pureview 808. I am convinced that the only problem with any nexus camera is the post processing s/w. This is where Apple, Sony and Samsung have invested $$$'s and it shows. If Google would do the same I think we'd see very good results. The imaging h/w is good - it's just the s/w that lets it down.

Came to post this link as well. Basically says photo quality is good but video is pretty lackluster. Seems to be in the same ballpark as most of the competition, excluding the current market leaders (iPhone and Note 4). I'm still very curious to try one out in person.

Well are we talking about semantics here? He didn't specifically use the word "lags" but he said:
"Even though it benchmarks higher than other phones, it doesn't perform better...
"Sometimes there is an occasional stutter. Things feel like half a step slow once in a while."

Definition of lag: "a period of time between one event and another".

I still think the HTC One M8 GPE version, once it gets 5.0 Lollipop officially next week, IMO is the best stock Android phone to date. Mainly because it's a one hander, with a manigable screen size, and not some freakishly huge 6" display. The Nexus 6 is also a very wide phone, pretty thick, and heavy. Just no way can it be used one handed.

Or even the OnePlus One, when CM12S is out. Plus the battery life on the OnePlus One is off the charts wickedly great

I think 5.5" screen size is the biggest that can still be a one handed phone, especially if done right like the LG G3, they built a 5.5" device so minimal in size, it feels much smaller. I wish Google would have made the Nexus 6 a 5.5" screen and based off the LG G3, just with the newer hardware inside.

Or Google should just make every flagship phone have a GPE version, then we could choose which specific device we want. Maybe a Galaxy S5 GPE people might want, or a LG G3 GPE. Give us that option at least.

$700 is a freakish asking price for the GPE one

Every phone off contract costs $650+. iPhone is like $700 to $900 !

Only cheap off contract phone is the OnePlus One, which is the best bang for the buck out there. But that's a rare phone, and no other brand new top of the line smart phones fall in that $350 price.

Back in Spring of this year, the HTC One M8 GPE was one of the top phones available at the time, even at $650 off contract. Back then the S5, and Note 3 were also $650, and the iPhone 5S was like $700+.

Right, but it is still $699. It cost more than HTC charges for the real deal. The GPE is better for a lot of us, but it should be $499-$550 today.

I agree, but Google is strange, never lowering the prices, just phasing out phones. I think the old Galaxy S4 GPE was still on sale on the Play Store earlier this year for $650, even after the S5 came out. LOL.

Your better off buying it straight from HTC or on contract with a carrier, and root it to convert to GPE.

Agreed. I think the GPE Z ultra dropped massively ($299 maybe) right before it left the play store.

If they came down to earth with the GPE one, I would jump all over it. Give me nexus 5 prices on it :)

As I type this from my plugged in nexus 5 haha.

Don't want to derail this N6 thread but my X (2014) lasts me all day. More than happy. I've also got 2 turbo chargers - one at my desk and the other in car so if I need a quick boost I can.

The N6 is just a big version of the X so all I'm missing is the bigger screen.

Battery life not that great. The HTC One M8 runs circles around the Moto X in the battery and Screen On time. And the OnePlus One destroys it.

Plus the camera and stereo speakers are superior....but I understand your post. The Moto x is a darn good phone.

Held a blue one at TMobile. Beautiful phone and not as big as I feared. No logo either. Couldn't tell if it had any bloat. I might just order it from TMobile to use on AT&T. Many iPhone 6 users did the same thing.

Get your fingers on the button, UK pre-orders start tomorrow apparently.I already caved and purchased the 6+ so i wont be participating in Google's game.

Can't wait to hear impressions from you guys who are about to receive it stateside. From the reviews so far, the battery life does seem a bit disappointing but i expect different results from different use cases. Still seems like a fantastic phone.

I'm getting more and more excited for this phone. If I ever manage to order one, and it lives up to the hype, I'll be selling my note 4 (a wonderful phone, BTW).
