Yeah what time do the pre-orders start here?

Probably going to pick one up.

Haven't a clue mate, would guess at some time in the morning and few places besides Google look like they'll be taking pre orders. All the best of luck though, cant wait to hear impressions.

My 6+ wont be here until the first week of December so there's a good chance you'll have the Nexus 6 in hand before i've got my phone.

Reviews range from Luke warm to spectacular. I have read most of them.

The consensus seems to be it's not worth the premium price, it's too big, and it really confuses the point of the Nexus devices.

Nexus becomes increasingly less relevent as HTC, Sony, Motorola, and Samsung move closer to pure android. The Moto X is just a better phone than the Nexus 6 because it's mostly pure android but at a more reasonable size.

That's not the consensus of the verge, bgr, Forbes, and several others.

I considered the Moto x. The nexus six has a better camera, speakers, processor, screen, etc.

I actually want the large screen, seems worth it to me, and based on now hard it is to buy one...lots of other people as well.

I think Dieter Bohn's article is being misconstrued as relatively positive. He starts the article by saying the Nexus 6 is not a cell phone. He admits the battery life is disappointing and the camera is still not good enough.

The "consensus" is generally disappointment from all I can tell.

That is not a good review. Most of the positive in the verge review could be said of the Nexus 5.

I considered the Moto x. The nexus six has a better camera, speakers, processor, screen, etc.
Android Central seems to think the Moto X camera is not significantly worse and the 805 vs 801 processor is a non-issue. Add to that, the Moto X is better build quality, where the N6 has a plastic back.

That's fine, but aside from the screen, which is a nonstarter for many, the Nexus 6 is still a disappointment, especially now that the so called "Nexus Privilege" has worn off.

Not true and not true.....

The Nexus 6 is not seen as disappointment or some kind of consensus.....
It Hasn't reached the public yet.
It depends on who you ask to get your consensus.....
Can you find bad reviews? Sure but you can find bad reviews about any smartphone on the market today. If you ask the right people you can get a consensus about any product.

The screen is mostly reviewed as pretty awesome.

The Good The Google Nexus 6 has a razor-sharp and expansive display, a top-of-the-line Snapdragon 805 processor, the latest Lollipop OS and an OIS-equipped camera that takes great outdoor photos.

Pros:
It’s huge
Solid battery life
Beautiful screen
Lollipop (Android 5.0) is freakin’ gorgeous
Loud, front-facing speakers

None of these posts refute the Nexus 6 is a disappointment. The Nexus 5 was nearly the perfect device for the price, but the N6 is too expensive and therefore still a disappointment.

It's okay you're upset Google messed up. They did. They should have updated the Nexus 5 in addition to the Nexus 6. Everyone wanted to love it, but the size, the build quality, and the price have ruined it.

Great..... You don't like it and have an opinion that it is a disappointment. That doesn't mean everyone else shares that opinion.

If the Moto X had a bigger battery I would agree with you. The battery on my OG Moto X is terrible. I had my wallet ready when the 2014 Moto X was announced, but once I heard the battery size I put my wallet away. I don't want to have to manage my battery come 3pm. At this stage in the game there is no reason a battery can't go for more than 16 hours.

I was at the mall getting my wife's iphone 6 replaced today.

Got to try out the nexus 6 in tmobile today.

It feels great in the hand. It feels more sleek than my note 4, and size wise it doesn't feel any bigger than my note 4 with my body glove case on.

The screen looked great. The pictures it took look comparable to my note 4, which I was using right next to it.

It was fast....very, very fast. Incredibly smooth...essentially it was as smooth as my iphone 6+ was, but with better animations and overall speed.

Honestly, here is my point of view, in terms of why you would buy the nexus 6.

The large six inch screen combined with the front facing speakers. It really is a great combination. The screen may not be as good as the note 4, but I didn't feel like I was using a lesser screen when I had it in hand.

The overall build quality...I don't get why people are saying it has a poor build. It is a solid aluminum framed phone...made by motorola...who does great with build quality. No you can't get a leather back...but neither can any other phone on the market except the moto X. The build quality is ever bit as good, if not better in hand, than my note 4.

The BIGGEST reason, in my opinion, is pure unadulterated android 5.0 lollipop. I am smitten with this new version of android...it is what a mobile operating systems should be. In my opinion, it is the best look operating system out, period.

I plan on ordering one tomorrow...I would love to get one through the play store or motorola...but Ill order a 64 gb from tmobile if I have to.

I absolutely love my note 4, and think it is by far one of the best android phone, or phones period, ever made....but it wont get a pure version of lollipop. It will be more like the touchwize we know now than the android lollipop...and I don't know if I want that.

I keep going back and forth between this and the iPhone 6.

I checked the T-Mobile website and I could get a Nexus 6 overnighted if I order it today. I'll likely wait though because I still don't feel good about the user reviews I've been reading.

Hands on 15 minutes at a T-Mobile store, color me impressed.

I knew zero about it walking in not reading any specs or reviews beforehand, not even this thread.

First time I have done that, takes away any preconceived thoughts about a device walking in without actually trying it first off for yourself.

Had the six plus, moved to the note 4, and finally got the nexus 6 today. The phone is great. I could see myself keeping this phone for a long while.

You didn't like the iPhone 6 Plus ?

I am an Android nerd myself, but will admit, after seeing a buddies 6 Plus that was jailbreaked, running some cool tweaks, it was quite the beast. The JB stuff really made the 6 Plus different and pretty cool  His was white, with a cool thin matte gray Apple case, and it felt so light and very thin. I was very impressed, and I am no Apple fan whatsoever.

I currently have a OnePlus One, rooted with custom ROM, I'm pretty happy with this beast too, with battery life that's off the charts AMAZING.

I'm afraid the Nexus 6 would be just too large, for me the OnePlus is on the border of too big already. I don't want to go any larger, and the Nexus 6 is much bigger over the OnePlus One ?

Call me crazy, I was so impressed with my friend Jailbreaked 6 Plus, I am sort of tempted to switch. Last iPhone I owned was the 3G, and have been on 14 different Android phones the past 5+ years later, but after so many Androids, I am sort of burned out. I love them, but I might need something different to keep me excited.

I don't know about the size of the one plus one. I find the nexus 6 to be similar to the note 4 in hand and easier than the six plus.

The six plus was good but over priced. It suffered from random lag and was gimped with 1 gig of ram. A 1000 dollar phone shouldn't have those problems.

The nexus 6 feels great in hand, is fast and fluid, and I love stock 5.0

Went to a T-mobile that I knew had the demo unit just to get a feel for it. I feel like the bigness of the phone has been greatly exaggerated. It's a big phone, but it's not a BIG phone. It didn't feel that much different in my hand than when I was feeling up the Note 4.

I do have an upgrade available with T-mobile, but it's only showing the 32GB one. I read on a forum from someone who contacted T-mo about that and they said that the system won't show you a phone that's backordered, for an upgrade.

Overall I did like what I saw and I can see myself with the Nex 6 for 2 years. I'm going to have to write out an old fashioned pro and con list between it and my iPhone 6.

Which one do you like better? Coming from Note II and 3 and deciding between Note 4 or Nexus 6. Mainly interested in the larger display, design is fresh and was a big fan Motorola fan with Startac. Lollipop is nice but not a key decision.

Good news

Nexus 6 purchased from att uses the standard nexus 6 ROM

Some caveats like Sim lock but updates still come from Google. Does not look like Verizon galaxy nexus situation

The six plus was my least favorite, for reasons listed above.

The note 4 is a great utility device with the best display and a great camera.

The nexus 6 has a great display and a great camera. It has the better build quality, speakers, reception, and design...and the extra screen space is nice without making the phone seem much larger than the note 4....the nexus 6 is slightly better than the six plus in hand.

For me....the nexus 6 is my favorite. I just got it, but I love it. Really, for me, the pure lollipop experience really stands out. It's the killer feature for me. Its way nicer than touchwize or the previewed version of lollipoped touchwize. Its better than ios, in look and performance, and that's a first....all with the same great features that always stood out on android.

Nexus 6 is my pick.
