Has Google fixed the double-tap power button issue with the camera yet?

When you double tap the power button to launch the camera while the device is unlocked, it'll lock it first, then go into the camera. So when you exit the camera, you have to unlock your device again.

That's a stupid mistake. Has that been fixed?

Isn't that a security feature to stop people accessing the content of the device without it being unlocked via PIN or the finger print scanner?

Edit: misread that. When unlocked it doesn't re lock on my device

Oh, okay. Good. I thought I read it was a weird glitch about the double-tap to launch the camera. Nice.

Blarrrrgh!!! I did it. I ordered the 6P.

I can't wait.

64gb, frost.

I've been fighting the urge as well. As much as I may like the hardware though, there are just a handful of Apple ecosystem features I would miss so that's why I've held off. I'll just keep living vicariously through all of you. ;)

Awesome...did you order from Google or Huawei?

The goggley eyes.

Should I have from huawei?

I chose Google for the extended return window. I'm not fully convinced 6p is right for me. And have good reasons to think it's in fact not. But boy do I want to give it a shot!

But just in case, I went with Google so I can return it if I must. But I'm gonna give it a proper chance. The long return window means I could use it for a solid week or two. Get to really see if it's a right change for me from the s6.

Being excited about tech... Now that's a feeling I haven't had in a long time. /oldben.

The fact they have an easy return policy will at least enable you to know one way or the other.

I wasn't blown away with mine initially but it's really grown on me. Hopefully you'll be able to ascertain whether it is or isn't for you before the return window closes.

Regardless enjoy it even if it's just to quench the curiosity growing inside :)

Great....i was going to suggest you order from Google. Huawei is under contract to fill Google orders first. So orders from their own website can take sometime a month to complete.
I am not sure it is the right phone for me as well.
But I will wait to hear and what your thoughts are going to be. It's a very nice phone. Its a big phone too :) bigger than your S6 that's for sure :)

I wouldn't let size worry you :)

I loved to a note 4 from an iPhone 5. It felt big at first but a couple of weeks usage and going back to even an iPhone 6 felt that screen was too small lol

I can't see me move to any smaller screen phone now

Oh the size is perfect for me. But i know Epicrayban likes 5 inch phones so the N6P might seem a little big for him.

I have the N6P and Note 5 and MXPE and IP6s+ so i and used to larger phones.

I had a play on Sunday with my mates 6p and found it way too big for me.
t's really large and quite heavy too although the weight isn't too much of a problem.
It definitely would need a case too as it's way too bulky / slippy to handle (for my hands)
So I get your concern about the size!

Everything else looked great though.
Don't know how I'd feel about the finger print scanner on the back, when my phone is on my desk at work it would be annoying to have to pick it up to unlock it.

But who knows. I also think stock Android has some annoyances that I never experienced with Samsung's touchwiz. As much as some people hate it I feel it's almost a more complete experience which again, can divide opinion. But I really like it.

I'm very much in the same boat and agree with a lot here. I may end up feeling the same way about the 6P.

But luckily, that great return window allows me to truly find out for myself. :)

Why not the 5x instead, you even got a peek at it. For $299, an absolute steal for me. More storage would cost but if it is one's daily driver it would be worth it.

Yep, that is a gift for someone and it's a fine device from the little time I spent with it. But at that point, I might as well just keep my S6.

It's either go all out for the premium one, or stick with the S6. :)

update: I have had the phone for almost a month, and the battery life is still as advertised. My device is lasting well over a day and with Doze I can likely make it to the end of two. The quick charging is great.

The bluetooth is bluetooth. That is, it's spotty. The Wi-Fi is fine. No reason to really complain. Nav is google maps is great, but the navigation is a major drain on the phone's battery, and for whatever reason so was casting photos.

The gyroscope and screen orientation sometimes do not sync up correctly, which is a bit annoying at times as well. I'll have it in landscape and the screen will adjust to portrait and vice versa. Going to the homescreen appears to rectify the issue, however.

Overall, I'm decently happy. Pure android is still the best overall phone experience between services and operating system.
